    Gday,newbie here,appreciate any help

Yes, but depending on what you already have, it may not be much of a problem. Do you know what you'd like to do with all that, or just exploring possibilities? -

Thanks. I'll look better on the .de - even though, usually they appear on the .es too... wonder why not... thanks anyway. The Sikelan ones are about half the price though... I wonder :·/ -

    EG4 batteries screw issue.

I tried vice grips I can’t quite get hold of them. That doesn't quite... sound possible. They have quite a big head. Sorry to suggest over-obvious things but... have you sprayed them with WD-40 or the like, let them soak for a while, grabbed them sideways - not head-on - and turned...

    24V fridge compressor

I've been thinking about converting my 240V fridge to 24V. It's not so much consumption that worries me, more noise. Anyway, I'm almost ready to experiment. I got me a used fridge (so I can try it without giving up my current fridge yet), I'm looking to buy a Danfoss-Secop compressor. Thing is...

    EG4 batteries screw issue.

While an impact driver is a good thing to have, and not expensive, those really look easy enough to grab with locking (vise-grip) pliers. Which if you don't have (you should ;·) are sold at any hardware store. -

    48volt charging/ powering with 12v

No. It's just a bad idea to draw from only some cells in a series connected battery. Honestly, PWM DC converters are not bad at all. -

    48volt charging/ powering with 12v

Not really. If you want to power 12V items, you're much better off using a DC-DC converter, they're quite efficient. Charging, just go 48. -

Are we all getting GRADE B cells??

Well, that sounds a bit... I mean, if something as simple as rough edges causes serious defects, how difficult can it be to have the edges filed, as part of the same machine or the next one down the line? Not conceivably difficult or expensive, right? Certainly less expensive than rejected cells. -

Help setting up basic solar system in barn?

If it's just the lights, you can get away with just about anything. Use 12V led bulbs. An old car battery. A crappy panel with a crappier controller. Be happy :·) -

What do you think, Battery prices going up or down by 2023?

Apparently they found huge amounts of lithium in Bolivia, except... it's in Bolivia, so nobody wants to go and get it :·/ -

    More Power Scotty!

I guess those 4 batteries are in series for 48V. So 100 Ah total. Still, that's 5kWh easy. A couple of hours? What do you draw off them? -

    Low Volatage Fault

OK, it may be that, but it should still be good enough, right? I mean, 500W (call it 40A) on a 600Ah bank... not much is it. Want to bet it's a bad connection somewhere? ;·) BTW, this is what I have for lead and LFP: -

Best Invention in the last 100 years that you use a lot

Hey, in my days we used to drive boats using compasses and sextants * :·) When GPS became available, navigation (at sea) became a breeze. Even though the first units just gave you Lat/Long and you had to plot those on paper charts, and they weren't all that accurate (the US purposefully degraded...

Install a Growatt AIO and Lithium battery on covered patio?

Yes, the second AIO is a backup. I got it cheap (on Aliexpress - shipped from Germany). Figured I might as well have it so if the other one blew I wouldn't have to get one in a hurry (and pay more :·) -

AIO cooling. Why is it done backwards?

Rather than flipping the unit (easier said than done, what with cables and all), what I think I'll try is make some holes at the top (sides) to at least let some hot air out when the fans aren't running. [EDIT] This is pretty much what my main unit looks like. Sides and top are completely...

    Low Volatage Fault

Right, considering that 12.6V under a 500W load is not really low voltage (for lead-acid)... the low voltage warning was from the inverter, right? Can you see what the inverter says about voltage when it does that? Because, if a multimeter/SOC indicator on the battery shows 12.6, but the...

Solar panels mounted with magnetic sheets.

Deciding between Grid Power vs. Solar - Island Property

Of course, solar is better at these latitudes. So maybe a few more panels. But still... if you learn to manage your energy - not difficult, and quite gratifying, really - something like what I have, with a couple more panels, should do. I have two batteries (LFP, 110 Ah each, 24V) ~€2000 Four...

Deciding between Grid Power vs. Solar - Island Property

Indeed, you can rent (beg/borrow/etc. ;·) a small generator and actually measure your consumption. It might be less that you estimated. My microwave, for example, has 5 settings, from low to high power. I keep it on 3, it draws some 100W. Actually, I would buy the generator. Some 2 kW, inverter...

Yes, so do all the ones I've seen (not many). Up and out the top sides does sound more reasonable. -

AIO cooling. Why is it done backwards?

All the ones I've seen. None have fans at the top, all have them at the bottom. I guess the idea is, if you have holes at the top, moisture gets in more easily. Also, they all seem to have noisy fans. I guess the idea is, if we can save 20 cents on fans... -

Ideas for temporarily transferring PV power?

I've had a 25 mt. extension cord - rugged, but nothing special - lying in the sun and rain for years (like 5 or 6), I took it to the new house, it's still lying in the sun and rain, still works. It looks like this: - -

Free Energy - Real or Scam

The lure of perpetual motion, however, is such that designs continued to be submitted to the Royal Society, by individuals as diverse as reverends and shoemakers, even after it had been repeatedly debunked. Expand RV capacity with physically split banks?

Maybe use a BMS with active balancer, and that tells you cell voltages. It would be interesting as an experiment, if it turns out fine, we all learn something, right? Personally, I don't care much about imbalances. I may be wrong, but I think if they're small enough, and you lose a wee bit of...
