Ive since ordered a second one. As a bms it's pretty good tho tracking of the SOC is not good at all. So the second one has no rs485. In order to track the SOC (and kwhin/out) I installed a victron smartshunt, that thing seems to be pretty reliable.

I think you need to set that in your charge controller. I mean, if it can not detect that the battery has been disconnected it's not a very good charge controller ;)

Merde alors :) But note that Seplos also doesn't support putting a 280ah and 304ah in parallel. At least that is what I was told by the Seplos rep. on Alibaba. He did argue that the difference between the 304 and 280 isn't that large and it should work out fine.

Ok, so better to build two distinct batteries and parallel them. I'm thinking of getting that Seplos BMS for the 280 pack and keep the JBD on the 304 pack. Then I'll parallel the packs and connect the Seplos to my Growatt inverters via S485 so it can report the SOC. Would that work ?

There's not; I don't have one of those. If someone does have one, and has some basic coding skills, it should be easy to add to the system.

I would say that 100 to 20 SOC tracking is pretty good but once you drop under the 20%SOC it's just spitballin' it and you can't rely on the SOC. It's useless below 20.
