    Other resources for residential

Are there other online resources for information and research? I want to take a whole house approach. In a 60 year old home with 30 year old natural gas HVAC system and hot water. Which are near end of life and need replacing. Will be purchasing an EV sometime in the next few years. Current...

Connector for Solar on the Side

Pretty sure those CNLINKO connectors are the same as the Furrion connector. Just seems more robust than the SAE connector

Connector for Solar on the Side

Does anyone have any experience with the Furrion connectors? https://www.etrailer.com/Accessories-and-Parts/Furrion/FSPINS-BS.html?gclid=CjwKCAiAkJKCBhAyEiwAKQBCkp4fUBjxJ5A0rbKB4iRooC8NZTlUnD4FOgdrQWcKBj9Wc6PICqghnRoCeu4QAvD_BwE

Connector for Solar on the Side

I see an Anderson Pole panel mount available that is "weather resistant". My experience with items labeled as weather resistant is that they are not. ;-)

Connector for Solar on the Side

I've done a number of searches and didn't find anything on this specific topic. I want to add ground mounted solar panels to our Truck Camper. Will have a seperate Victron MPPT solar controller to manage the ground mounted array. What is the best through wall connector for this applciation...

Small Portable Panels for RV charging - Renogy v Rockpals 100W

My intent is to connect this foldable portable panel to a Victron Smart Solar Charge Controller mounted within 24" of the batteries in our camper. The Victron will manage the charging. The website for these panels states they can be ganged together in series or parallel configuration. And a...

Small Portable Panels for RV charging - Renogy v Rockpals 100W

What about panels like this from AcoPower? They are perfect for my size constraints and the performance specs are comparable to Renogy panels. Anyone know of any issues with these or any reason NOT to use something like these?

Small Portable Panels for RV charging - Renogy v Rockpals 100W

The thickness is not so critical for me. My planned storage and transport area is 36" x 19.5". Pretty much everything I've seen is at least 20'X20". The RV with Titos has some great ideas for the flexible panels. But the flexibles dont help me regarding the size constraints I have and I dont...

Small Portable Panels for RV charging - Renogy v Rockpals 100W

I've pretty much decided on Renogy rigid portable panels. But even Renogy has (2) offerings. Checking their website comparison I dont see much difference. The Eclipse model if $80 more than the other one. Both are monocrystalline. Does anyone have any real world experience with these...

Small Portable Panels for RV charging - Renogy v Rockpals 100W

Due to storage and transport space constraints we are looking for portable panels that pack up small. Currently considering Renogy100W and Rockpals. Can anyone provide a performance comparison of the units from these manufacturers? Are there any other panels we should consider? Ultimately...

Portable Panel with Roof Top Panels on Truck Camper

Hey guys. Sorry if I misrepresented my plan. The portable panel will ABSOLUTELY have its own MPPT controller. My original post had conflicting information. To be clear Portable Panel -> MPPT controller -> battery terminals Rooftop panels -> MPPT controller -> battery terminals This is ok...

Portable Panel with Roof Top Panels on Truck Camper

I want to add a portable ground mounted solar panel to our existing roof mounted system. Lithium batteries in the camper. MPPT controller on the camper for the roof mounted panels. The portable ground mounted panel will have its own MPPT controller. Can we simply connect the portable panel to...

    Cable Length questions

Zil apologies if I've confused the discussion. Yes my question is about CC to the battery. in my TC that wiring is 10 gauge stranded copper.

    Cable Length questions

thanks for the replies. My system is not perfect nor optimized. Came from the factory with (1) 100 W panel. The dealer talked us into adding a second 170W panel before I knew anything about solar. The panels are wired in parallel. Factory wire is 10 gauge stranded copper.

    Cable Length questions

Looking to convert my Truck Camper system from FLA to Lithium batteries. The camper also has solar. The factory install has different positive and negative cable lengths from the solar controller to the battery. The positive cable I estimate to be @ 15' length. Negative Cable @ 10'. Is this...

Portable Solar Panel Addition to Augment Fixed Roof Top Panels on Truck Camper

Our 2019 Lance 1172 truck Camper has 270W of solar panels on the roof. With GoPower PWM 30 Solar Controller. We do a lot of camping in the woods. We'd like to add ground mounted solar panels to augment the roof top panels. The goal is 100 watt - 200 watt ground mounted panels that we can place...

Renogy DC DC Charger w/ MPPT

The BT connectivity holds out a bit of hope that the LiPo float voltage can be adjusted. We are full time in a Truck camper and the Renoy made our upgrade to lithium exponentially simpler for a number of reasons. BUT if the float voltage is not correct or cant be adjusted its a dealbreaker for us.

Renogy DC DC Charger w/ MPPT

Question about the Renogy DC DC Charger with MPPT DCC50S. On a recent thread on the forum I read this "it is always on a boost at 14.4, it never kicks down to a float" Is this true???? Seems that would not be ideal for LiPo battery life. This table from the manual for the DCC50S seems a...

    (1) 200AH battery vs (2) 100AH

I bought my Lance with the Solar factory installed. came with (1) 100W panel. My dealer added a second panel 170W. Unfortunately the dealer didnt know what they were doing. The panels are a bit mismatched so there is some reduction in efficiency. We can drain the (2) flooded lead acid...

    (1) 200AH battery vs (2) 100AH

Early stage planning of solar upgrade for my truck camper. Curious to hear the collected wisdom of the forum on using (1) 200AH battery vs (2) 100AH batteries. If there are no clear advantages for (2) batteries a single battery makes my install a bit simpler. Currently my camper has (2) 12V...
