Currently I have 16, Eve cells, 304 amp hour and 4P4S, sharing a common BMS... They were pressed into service on an emergency basis maybe two years ago? Due to my poor planning...
I never see them more than 0.02x sell voltage deviation...
So I imagine they are pretty well balanced
But there...
So I'm being a single solar panel to an existing array.. and I decided the easy way to do this would be a single solar panel pull mount
I'm using schedule 40 2-in black pipe (normally used for natural gas) and a cat I got on eBay that was recommended on here
I used an auger to create an 8-in...
I would like to weigh in on that if I could
When I called the local electric company.. they wanted about $11,000 just to connect me
So I started pricing out what it would take to build a solar setup for the house
4x MPP Solar lv6548 used $2000
80x Santan Solar t250. $4350(includes...
So a while back I brought my home system online...
Initially I brought it online with 10 Santan Solar t250s
Of course the only real problem is I was getting lots of shading
So I moved one of my five panel arrays back about 8 ft to the south... Now this one produces a little earlier in the...
So I've been seeing that some people are using their BMS or their charge controller to activate a active balancer at a certain voltage ... Effectively leaving it off whenever it's below that voltage
So I have a couple different options that I'm hoping will work for this
I have the JBD 200...
Yeah that's been kind of my opinion.. especially their lightweight batteries... Their traditional prismatic cells seem to do just fine... But the pouch cells dear Lord... The first time we tested them they were about 90%... I'm hoping to do a 2-year test on them with my client in the near future...
I should say this... I actually think they build a good battery... My biggest concern is their lack of knowledge. They're selling a product they don't understand
The owner's claim to fame is that he invented the zamp plug... You know the little inset plug that comes pre-installed on RVs and...
Well I can tell you that company is hot garbage. A friend of mine dealt with them a while back after their 24 volt all in one failed
They tried to blame him and said that the battery is caused it to fail...
Never mind that the batteries were just fine
He was using a pair of redodo batteries...

Okay.. maybe I got a little heavy-handed with cell 14... Maybe added just a little too much to it
But the good news is it's better than it was and it's getting better with every tweak
Well I'm finally getting some results... I got to thinking about what was going on... There's a couple options. But I decided the only option I could really do anything about is that cell 14 may have slightly more capacity or possibly be at a lower state of charge overall when compared to the...
Well this is different... I've never seen this much deviation on this pack at this state of charge
Now I will say it has been on the same load, which is basically just a refrigerator for the entire evening... Probably since about 7:00 p.m. so nearly 12 hours later
Normally at this state of...
Additionally I'm noticing that it's taking significantly less time for the battery management system to balance the battery after a charge when compared to yesterday
So I did another charge today... The results are a little better... Compared to yesterday anyway
Although the one thing that remains constant is that cell 14 takes the longest to charge
While other cells are sitting at 3.45 and above... Sell 14 is sitting at 3.18. And by the time we get to...
Well so far the results aren't all that great... I'm charging to about 3.45 volts for cell
Everything looked pretty good until a little after 3.41 volts per cell... Then number 16 kept pulling ahead until it got to almost 3.51... While cell number 14 pretty much stayed at 3.41 for quite a while...
So I was bored yesterday and I decided to use my EG4 chargeverter to charge my 16S, 280 amp hour Eve cell to 57 volts
Once that was done I disconnected the BMS and the bus bars and reconfigured in 16P
From there I used my bench power supply to charge all the cells to 3.65 and held them there...
I hate to tell you... I had a totally different experience. I've purchased from Amy at Docan several times. I've easily spent well over $10,000 with her. And I've sent the money in such a way that I had really no assurances that anything would be done correctly...
But I can tell you this. She...
