How much capacity is lost if only charged to 3.58v..?

The short version is: - Charge at a slightly lower voltage as you suggest. - You will lose maybe a few percent capacity at most. - You will extend the life of your pack. - You will avoid lots of problems. - You won't need to adjust your settings constantly. - Your BMS and charge controller will...

Bench power supply fail - do I really need to top balance?

This is the method i use to quickly lower the voltage of a big 280ah cell. https://diysolarforum.com/threads/best-way-to-burn-some-juice-of-a-couple-runners.17086/page-3#post-200682

Bench power supply fail - do I really need to top balance?

You will be fine, the problems only start when the first cell goes over 3.4v, so to avoid any problems set your max charge voltage lower. Ie 13.6v for a 4 cell bank. Your only losing a few percent capacity, so it's not a major issue. Then as you say, your BMS will balance your cells over time...

Monitoring MPP/Clone systems with freeware Pi/Grafana

Yes, the only reason i was using a Pi is because of its low power usage, it's small size and cost. Any Linux based system with serial ports should work. Obviously running the same linux distribution will make life easier. Have fun!

The absolute top-of-the-line Chinese LiFePO4 batteries?

The manufacturers of these cells arent little garage shops, they are huge industries that supply globally to big corporations. Tesla just switched all future cars to LifePo cells, if that makes you feel any better. If you buy directly from the cell manufacturer and not a shady reseller of old...

Hi, looks like your 90% of the way there, the trouble is that Grafana is looking in the wrong place for the data. Confirm that the Prometheus database is working and contains the data you are creating. Cat the data file in /ramdisk and see how the data structure is named, this is the data...

Review of EVE LF280 cells from Docan Technology

Shipping for 16 cells was around $350, so it ended up being around $400 less than getting them in the USA. Also they don't have the new 6000 cycle K cells in the USA, only the older type.
