Sol-ark + batrium canbus integration workaround until its supported

If Sol-Ark and Batrium are now communicating via CANbus, using Project Lychee protocol, how does this affect your Batrium settings in relation to the Sol-Ark settings? Charge/Discharge etc..?

Sol-ark + batrium canbus integration workaround until its supported

I did receive the latest update but not sure when the “last” update was. I do not have my LiFePo4 batteries connected to sol ark yet. The extra wires in the Cat 5 cable, did you strip the out or just cut them? Pictures?

How did that work? Did you have success? I have the older 12k, assuming mine should work as well this way?

    The secret to compression

Very possibly. The best way to control that is to remove as much humidity from the air as possible. The higher the humidity the more likely air pressure will change with temperature increase. Use nitrogen if you can? It’s dry. We used both nitrogen and argon (not together) in race tires due to...

Best way to compress cells in packs

If you search the grainier website, they have tons of various length/strength/size springs.

Best way to compress cells in packs

Honestly I don’t know exactly that correct spring rate for this application. I was looking at the lighter weight springs because I wasn’t sure that I could compress higher rated springs with the limited rod length I was restricted to in my setup. If you know a formulation for figuring the...

Best way to compress cells in packs

If you look at my picture, you could use wire with lugs instead of buss bars to help with terminal stress. I didn’t do that but considering possibly changing only this buss bars. Only the ones with yellow highlights in my picture.

How to tell the difference between Grade A and Grade B cells.

Reminds me of when I was telling my friend about the time I was attempting to be a paratrooper in the army. When it was my time to jump out of the planes door, I was too scared to jump!! 😒 The drill Sargent told me to jump, son!! I told him there’s no way I could jump out of a perfectly good...

Best way to compress cells in packs

In doing my 16s4p setup, I ended up using 5/16” aluminum plating with 1/4” rods between every pack of four, 10-rods per 16s. (See photos) I used rubber matting in the inside of the aluminum where the cells contact. Originally was using rubber matting between each cell, but that was to thick for...

Help with 128 batteries each one is 280ah, and want to configure for 48v system.

Good deal. I was curious because I don’t remember seeing or hearing a final resolution to the problem that you have posted. I ended up changing my set up to a 16s4p. It was a little more expensive that way because I ended up buying 64 Blockmons, one for each cell and only using one Batrium. Do...

Thank. It’s been a chore, learning process. I’ll post more pictures soon. I’ve got more things together since those photos. I’ve just tried to keeps things neat & organized son it’s safe as possible and easy to work on if needed. I’d like learn more from those folks like you, how other...

When to connect a parallel bank?

FYI: Just checked voltage on each of the four packs. These were charged in order 1-4. #1: 53.6 #2. 54.5 #3. 55.0 #4. 55.3 I’m sure the last two packs will drop voltage as they rest the next fees. I’ll wait before paralleling the packs.

When to connect a parallel bank?

Thanks very much! I agree, I’ll monitor voltages over the next days to see, I’m sure the more recently charged packs will drop like the earlier packs have.

When to connect a parallel bank?

I’ll check the voltage this evening. I charged each 16 string at once, so over time each pack naturally settled while waiting to charge each successive 16 pack. (16s4p) So maybe waiting for the packs to all settle to around 3.3-ish may be best before attempting to parallel. I just wasn’t sure...

When to connect a parallel bank?

So how far apart in voltage is safe to connect 4 -16s packs in parallel? I’ve top balanced and placed all 4 strings together in my rack. Of course due to charging time of each 16s pack, my first 3 packs have settled accordingly. Finally got all Blockmons on and Batrium hooked up, setup and...

Yes that's what's crazy. everything went well. re-synced multiple times after the changes as well.. E-mailed Batrium but it may be Monday before I get a response. It was weird, originally it stopped at 5 -6, then it failed after 4 several times. Then went back to 5-6 fail..so..?

Several members in this thread have Batrium setup. Did any of you guys have trouble when doing the bypass test on your setup? I started my Batrium up this afternoon and all went well until the bypass test. 1- 64 Blockmons and it repeatedly failed after 5 going to 6. I changed out the Blockmon...

EVE-280 cells should these be clamped tight or spaced for expansion?

Thanks for the info. By reading the link that you posted to the DIY thread, it appears that 8 inch pounds on the torque wrench should be the desired number, not the 12 that I was using. I greatly appreciate the information.

EVE-280 cells should these be clamped tight or spaced for expansion?

I have not seen these tables, can you share a link? I would say I’m not looking for an exact 12 PSI, but enough compression without over compression. So, thinking 12 inch pounds would be good without over compression with the rubber matting in between each cell giving me some support both during...

EVE-280 cells should these be clamped tight or spaced for expansion?

Maybe so. However there seems to be a hundred ways people are doing this compression idea. Springs, this pressure at this SOC/voltage etc.... So I’m using 12 inch pounds on a torque wrench to tighten down my threaded rods. Maybe I should have said 12 inch pounds on a torque wrench instead of...

EVE-280 cells should these be clamped tight or spaced for expansion?

I’ve read a lot of posts/threads about compression. So many ideas and different ways to do it. I ended up using 5/16” aluminum plates with .20” hard rubber matting between plates/cells to give them a “firm” cushion when they expand and rebound when they contract. I used 1/4” threaded rods, 10...

    1S-24S LiFePo4 Battery Voltage Monitors/Testers

These are for monitoring only! Not a BMS. I have four (4) voltage monitoring/testers typically bought through AliExpress. Three (3) are brand new never opened. I have a 16s wiring harness for each one, all harnesses are 2.0mm spacing interface. However they can monitor up to 24s, but you would...

    The secret to compression

Do you have a link or brand of red silicone rubber pads you’re referring too? Been reading a lot about compression etc, looking at options for pads/rubber between cells. Some people are using thin plastic cutting board material. I like the idea of fire resistant, flexible materials between cells.

REPT 280AH Cells from Exliporc - Making 48v 560AH Battery

I purchased supposedly 310ah CATL cells. So far so good. The one cell I tested for AH tested at 312ah. Several cells were slightly swollen but no worse than it seems a lot of others on this forum seem to get & deal with. Shipping tracking wasn’t the best. Over ok..

Great, thanks for the link info. So if you have not yet setup the RSD, how do you have your batteries currently connected to Sol-Ark? Do you have automated battery shutoff/separation system or just fuses etc for now? I have two bussman class T fuses I plan on installing, one for each Sol-Ark. I...

I’m using dual (2) Sol-Ark 12k inverters. So if I do a 16s4p layout and connect all four negative and positive battery cables to their own respective bus bar/terminal blocks (blue sea) like you have. Then am I correct thinking I could connect my negative/positive cables from my inverters...
