Battery Voltage Low in One Cell

Was going through the YouBoob videos, Will mentioned limited top charging voltage to extend cell life. Forgot this value, could not find it in going through his build vids. I think is was 13.5v, or was it 13.8v any ideas?

Battery Voltage Low in One Cell

Once I put on the ring terminals, the power supply display is a totally different critter. Evidently was not charging. Now, with ring terminals 3.40v 9.0A 30W, A is trending downward, 8.7A, W is going down to 29 Really appreciate your help Jim.

Battery Voltage Low in One Cell

Thanks BentleyJ, Appreciate your response. Toasted the last power supply, ordered a new one. On the fence about just ordering a new battery pack with a guarantee. Just in case, are those 280Ah cells hard to find and will it likely act the same as the others? I do not want to wait for a package...

Battery Voltage Low in One Cell

Have 4S 280ah LiFePo4 battery, Overkill Solar 4S, 12v, 120A BMS. The inverter is not working. Checked cell voltages, 2.4, 3.2, 3.1, 3.2. Did the BMS shut it down due to the low cell voltage? Should I pull the buss bars and charge the low cell or replace it? Purchased cells Nov 2020, have not...

LiFePO4 heating pad for cold temperatures

Got one but I heard there were problems with the thermostat. Thought the controller would be better. Ordered a Inkbird off the a'Zon, cheaper, better reviews than what I was considering.

LiFePO4 heating pad for cold temperatures

Racoon Dog, Wow!! Very impressive. I keep burning out controllers (2 of the cheapies) on a 12v heating pad. 300 watt panel on the roof of my Promaster, 4 cell battery. Wonder how much damage I have done to the battery? Old Toad

    Tuffiom Did I Toast it?

Could not find the manual, hooked it up to my EarthX lithium battery. Voltage reads 12.7 but nothing on the A scale. Any suggestions? Did not want to wait until the ordered Optimate charger arrived. Guess I fixed it.

Battery Wiring Warmer, Is this Smart?

The power for the heating pad is the negative terminal and the unswitched side of the shutoff. Multiple industrial wide zip ties compress the cells. A picture tells a thousand words, a diagram that I cannot draw might not tell the truth. Thanks Zil, just what it needs. Thanks HRTKD, I will...

Battery Wiring Warmer, Is this Smart?

Wired the battery warmer in before the BMS, so the solar panel can warm the LiFePos cells if the heating pad temperature controller calls for it. Of course if the BMS temp sensor is above the the cutoff temp the cells can warm the package. Should I put a fuse between the Epever charge controler...

Renogy DC DC Charger w/ MPPT

25v panels were over my units limit had to get a different MPPT It was cheaper for me to get the Epever Tracer An than replace the 300w Renogy panel I purchased.

LiFePO4 heating pad for cold temperatures

50-60*F (10-15*C) degrees or 35-45*F ( 2-7*C)? Set mine at 2-7*C. Wondering if there is that much difference, what do you think?

LiFePO4 heating pad for cold temperatures

How big are the batteries amp hour wise? 4.5amps for many days in a row adds up. You must get days-weeks when the solar panels are covered in snow or no sunlight. Ditto on the insulation question.

LiFePO4 heating pad for cold temperatures

Still in Maine, bit of a dusting going on here, just wanted to share my build, Could not have done it without all the great help here. Plexiglass, more insulation and lid to be added or it would just look like a battery box.

    Top Balancing "How to"

Be patient Glasshoppa! Rome was not destroyed in a day, these things take time. patience. Just think of how satisfied you will feel at the top balance, if you do not go over the top and damage the cells.

    Negative Terminal Through the Case

A.Justice, that was just the ticket! The last piece of the puzzle. Been working on this over a year now, finally, getting 'er done.

    Negative Terminal Through the Case

Have a battery box, BMS, 4 eve cells in series and want to connect negative through the box. Got a switch on the positive side. Do not want the cable ripped out if the case gets loose.. Bought a stainless bolt to bring negative through the case, but that does not seem quite right, any suggestions?

    Top Balancing "How to"

Whoa Nelly! I take exception to this. This is the hinternet, I am rich, handsome and a legend, if only in my own mind. I choose to buy a thrifty power unit so I can agonize over the impressive charging curve. After all, why rush quality...and money. Brownie, Nice build! Remember, magic...

    Top Balancing "How to"

That charge/discharge plateau is pretty large or long as in the time to charge. Do not rush quality, have heard of great patience until an overcharge and damage. It seemed like I was watching paint dry or a baseball game it took so long, but it will happen, steady as she charges.....

LiFePO4 heating pad for cold temperatures

I like the hard case, a beoch to clear off and difficult to put together(tiny pieces) but good. Still have not wired mine up, need the battery, clock is ticking.... Just not hard wired for this stuff, not current enough...

    LiFePO4 Battery Warmer Install

Soap, warm water and elbow grease. The coatings must have been old stock and or temperature abused. Now I have to figure out how to put the intricate, tiny pieces together with stiff fingers, ha! Thanks.

    LiFePO4 Battery Warmer Install

Starting to freeze up here, about time I wired up the heater. Opened up the 2 pack of Umlife XH-W1209, gacked on the tiny screws and impossible to peel off the protective paper coating for the plastic frame pieces. I need tiny nimble fingers, not stiff old stubbs, Any suggestions??? Soak in warm...

How To Calculate Max wattage from Inverter Considering BMS Limits?

Have a 4S 280ah LiFePo4 battery, Overkill Solar 4S, 12v, 120A BMS and a 12v to 110v 1500Watt pure sine wave Inverter. Looking for theoretical max That I can get out of the inverter considering usual conversion inefficiencies. Was thinking of going to a Daly 250A BMS but then I saw the vid of...

    Renogy DCC50S, BT2 & DC Home app

Dennis, You say your panels are in parallel, what is the panels output voltage? If the Boost stays on, sounds like a defective charge controller. Or have you reset everything and tried again. Old computer repairman told me to shut it down, wait a bit and restart. Worked more often than not and I...

    Renogy DCC50S, BT2 & DC Home app

There are some really good aspects but I have to agree. I really hate to admit defeat. Would probably dump it, chock it up to a lesson learned.

Renogy DC DC Charger w/ MPPT

Important to understand the difference between a 12v panel and a 24v panel. I got bit by this. 12v panel puts out up to 25v, 24v panel puts out much more, will not work.

    LiFePO4 Battery Warmer Install

Ugh, how did you get those huge wires into those tiny holes of the temperature controller? Really frustrated with that tiny thing. Anyone know of a bigger controller?

    12v Solar Panels, Obsolete?

Important distinction, the DCC50 will not accept over 25 volts, only suitable for 12v (9-16v) batteries. The 24v panel is suitable for 24v batteries, 12v with a different MPPT

    12v Solar Panels, Obsolete?

Got the renogy DCC50s but my renogy 300w 24v solar panel is too much for the controller. Should I ditch the idea of a 12v solar panel? Suggested 12v panels... Grape popped up, 2 200w 12v, they will fit. Doing shopping, excuse me.
