Interesting, I know I’m one of Will’s videos he takes apart the SOK 12v 200ah battery and it has a low temperature disconnect. Do you know if the 24v one you got has low temp disconnect?

I found out from the supplier of Jakiper that the cells in the 48v and 24v batteries are made by a company called Ganfeng in China. They say the performance and cycle life is similar between the two units.

I may need to replace some or all of my fortune lifepo4 cells. Does anyone in the San Francisco Bay area have any for sale? Thanks

The heat shrink will only be applied to about 1.5' in a straight line from the starter battery through the fire wall, so I won't need that part to be flexible but the rest I certainly will.

Yea the wire I am going to get says it is oil resistant, but I got some heat shrink that says it is oil resistant also just to be safe.

I think it was 2 reviews or something saying that, so maybe they just got unlucky.

As it turns out the cable I was considering buying is the Temco brand. Aside from the uncertainty about its resistance to oil, multiple reviews mentioned a terrible smell to the cables that wouldn't disappear even after cleaning. That is something I want to avoid at all costs in a 14 foot box.

This surely rationalizes my confusion as well. Maybe it is fine and I am over thinking a bit.?‍♂️

Where do you live? Check craigslist. Solar companies tend to have overstock from jobs. I got a 325w panel for 200 bucks.

That’s some good news. What should I do to move forward and make 100% sure the cells are fine? Capacity test? Hook them up to the Electrodacus? And I was able to screw every terminal in to place.

Here’s a video of the individual test: They all read 3.2v on two different old multimeters. I have the electrodacus on hand. Can I hook it up the 4 cells configured 4p4s and get better information?

I’ll send some pictures with the Klein multimeter. I measured them individually earlier with the old school multimeter and they all measured 3.2v and cross referenced that with the undamaged cells to match. And looking back I figured it wouldn’t have hurt. I sure wish I hadn’t walked away from it...
