    24V Jakiper

Interesting, I know I’m one of Will’s videos he takes apart the SOK 12v 200ah battery and it has a low temperature disconnect. Do you know if the 24v one you got has low temp disconnect?

    24V Jakiper

I found out from the supplier of Jakiper that the cells in the 48v and 24v batteries are made by a company called Ganfeng in China. They say the performance and cycle life is similar between the two units.

How To Protect Cables In Engine Bay?

The heat shrink will only be applied to about 1.5' in a straight line from the starter battery through the fire wall, so I won't need that part to be flexible but the rest I certainly will.

How To Protect Cables In Engine Bay?

Yea the wire I am going to get says it is oil resistant, but I got some heat shrink that says it is oil resistant also just to be safe.

How To Protect Cables In Engine Bay?

I think it was 2 reviews or something saying that, so maybe they just got unlucky.

How To Protect Cables In Engine Bay?

As it turns out the cable I was considering buying is the Temco brand. Aside from the uncertainty about its resistance to oil, multiple reviews mentioned a terrible smell to the cables that wouldn't disappear even after cleaning. That is something I want to avoid at all costs in a 14 foot box.

How To Protect Cables In Engine Bay?

This surely rationalizes my confusion as well. Maybe it is fine and I am over thinking a bit.?‍♂️

How To Protect Cables In Engine Bay?

Man I should have looked up oil resistant heat shrink earlier. Found this on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/XHF-Pcs-1-1-Inch-30mm/dp/B07X33GKJY/ref=sr_1_9?dchild=1&keywords=oil%2Bresistant%2Bheat%2Bshrink&qid=1612825511&sr=8-9&th=1[/URL]

How To Protect Cables In Engine Bay?

I wish that was the case. I have a 2005 and the battery is in the engine bay.

How To Protect Cables In Engine Bay?

I need to run some 2 awg cable from my starter battery back to my DC-DC charger. Now the issue of course is cost, as there is about a 25 foot run for both cables. I was going to get some cable on Amazon that said it was oil resistant, but after scanning through the listing I found that the...

Where can I buy some good solar panels

Where do you live? Check craigslist. Solar companies tend to have overstock from jobs. I got a 325w panel for 200 bucks.

    Did I Ruin My Cells??

That’s some good news. What should I do to move forward and make 100% sure the cells are fine? Capacity test? Hook them up to the Electrodacus? And I was able to screw every terminal in to place.

    Did I Ruin My Cells??

Yes it definitely sparked viciously when I removed it. I pray that I got very lucky?? I don’t seem to find much luck lying around for me typically haha...by other cell group do you mean the opposing side to ole sparky? The long Diy copper busbar? If so that had very minimal signs of charring.

    Did I Ruin My Cells??

It basically removed itself by jumping off with sparks when I removed it by hand this morning?

    Did I Ruin My Cells??

I figured it out! I was just one step off earlier. Each cell is measuring 3.28v!

    Did I Ruin My Cells??

Yea that’s what I thought! I have to figure out how to change that because I assumed it would be auto adjusted.

    Did I Ruin My Cells??

I may be wrong here. It is my understanding the two cells marked 4 are parallel and the two cells marked 5 are parallel on their own, but when 5 five for instance is reversed and the positives and negatives are connected those are series connections and only one of them should be made. The other...

    Did I Ruin My Cells??

Yes, but look at 4 and 5. The center cells positive and negative are not supposed to be connected.

    Did I Ruin My Cells??

Yea I don't know what the deal is with that volt meter, but the videos I have watched on these Klein multimeters don't do that when touching a battery. Both the old multimeters showed the same information essentially which leads me to believing the old meters data. The cells and bus bars never...

    Did I Ruin My Cells??

Here’s a video of the individual test: They all read 3.2v on two different old multimeters. I have the electrodacus on hand. Can I hook it up the 4 cells configured 4p4s and get better information?
  29. thenunzzz

    Did I Ruin My Cells??

I’ll send some pictures with the Klein multimeter. I measured them individually earlier with the old school multimeter and they all measured 3.2v and cross referenced that with the undamaged cells to match. And looking back I figured it wouldn’t have hurt. I sure wish I hadn’t walked away from it...

    Did I Ruin My Cells??

    Did I Ruin My Cells??

Long story short I made a rookie mistake and completed a short circuit on 4 of my cells. I was preparing these cells for pre-charging before top balancing. They hadn’t been used since I unboxed them. I added a bus bar where it was not meant to be and sparked aggressively. I couldn’t figure a...
