Feedback on Class C RV diagram

OR.. you could leave the DC to DC you have... and disconnect the solar input, which you can run to a new controller for solar charging. Leave the DC charger on the alternator and you'll keep your 30a charge while driving, regardless of the solar input. Adding a new solar controller is the only...

YES: RV Solar/ Li/ and AC running full time

We had some 85 deg days last week, and my new 1500w setup is super steady. I left all the blinds UP and curtains OFF for 7 straight days of sun and monitored the system, while the AC was left on at 72 the whole time. I never saw more draw than 450w and the system was producing easily 700+w, but...

    Class C motorhome install

You can use the stock rv power panel and convertor, assuming you disconnect or disable the 'charger' portion of the convertor forever... don't use that with lithium. The 12v will come from the batteries forever. You also have your invertor going into the 120v side of the box, but also the...

Mounting Solar Panels on RV with Curved Roof

It's had lots of trips so far, and zero bad happened. In fact, nothing at all happened. It's so very stiff and solid this way. I'll be doing this again on the next curved roof.

    GFCI

ya, the Renogy 2000 and 3000w I have installed 3 times now, and they are super. Low parasitic draw, and quiet and STRONG. Use the battery wires they send... for a reason. They are great wires. Mount the renogy as close as required to use those cables. The renogy inverters have a built in GFCI.

    GFCI

I use one of those invertors, and so do 2 of my friends. They are great, and you don't want to 'double up' on GFCI items, the one in the invertor will be fine for the whole van. Use regular outlets in the van.

Buying 4 100w panels for RV

^^^ That sounds like a system that's on my cousin's bus. Those Renogy 100's are working fine for him for a while now. 2s2p would be a nice setup coming into that Victron. I'd keep the flex panels setup for that Zamp as well, don't mix and match if you can help it.

    New Setup: Help Wanted

Get an EcoFlow or jackery or something similar, charge that with these panels. and then use that for some electrical loads instead of the grid. that's going to be the only way to make something of those tiny panels.

HELP, off grid, discharged lithiums, huge storm coming

The snow should be over now, yeah. It's been a few days. Don't charge your lithium AmpereTimes if it's below 32, they don't usually have any low temp disconnect.

RV Cable entry / roof gland

I used the fridge vent as a pass through for 2 of my 3 installs, it's super easy, and no more holes. The 3rd I used a gland, and only a 2 wire. That went pretty well with lots of proper sealant (dicor). It was just a matter of positioning of the rest of the solar equipment that dictated this...

    Cinergi's 28 kWh / 4 kW Solar / 10 kW inverter RV build

So you're getting 50% of your possible input at winter solstice. I'd say that's reasonable.

    Valence XP Super Thread

I have the same sort of setup, I use top charge of 13.8 bulk, 13.4 as the rest voltage, and low cut at 12.1 for my draw appliances. They aren't very much used, but they are 'old' so I'm going easy on them. And it's been like that for 4 straight years of my ownership. Zero hassles. I'm assuming...

Mounting Solar Panels on RV with Curved Roof

Ok. This turned out WAY good, and easier than you think. You can barely see it...so I'll describe as well. Centered on each panel is the typical tiny z bracket with a 1inch rise off the roof. Fwd and rear CENTER on each panel. Now, I'll try to hilight and describe the other brackets. At the...

YES: RV Solar/ Li/ and AC running full time

Well, I've succumbed to an electrical update. Hahahah! I was using 1060w on the roof and a 60a controller for charging my 13v 7000w battery. Here's a picture of my roof, I used this for years and it was great! Old: Loved that, BUT with all new 4 panels, I could get another 50% so I moved to 4...

Well, another season in Canada is upon us, and the same system listed in this thread is still going. I've had the AC system on since the RV was retrieved from inside storage mid April. And we've had several days in the mid 80's for temp, sun and rain and all the stuff in between. I'm not...

Well, for super cheap you can solve your troubles with the charging thing... Follow this idea below: Switch or unplug your solar charger input and plug it into this 48v supply instead: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B079D916WY THis is so dang easy. You already have a perfect charger on your solar...

That elevated panel thing plus all the substructure is OUT for me. Way too much weight. I won't do that. I see why they did it, but I won't do that. I'm going to have a 'typical' sort of aluminum bent bracket lifting the panels off the roof. That's it. And because they will all be linked...

YES: RV Solar/ Li/ and AC running full time

Well, I escaped all that on my rig.. it never came with a generator. So it's solar or nothing for me, and I don't have any sort of alternator charging. After 2 years all solar I've clearly found zero need for this added weight. Now, If I had a trailer and truck, likely I'd also have a Honda 2200...

I'd be seriously considering where else that spare can go... if that was my back wall layout. I did move my spare, and it all worked for me to slide it over left more. The compressor went on the bumper then. But you have a water inlet there also.. Hmm. I'd be moving that spare to just about...

YES: RV Solar/ Li/ and AC running full time

I used 25ft yes. And it was indeed tight. The run is down from compressor, behind and under the compressor, and along inside of frame rail. Then over the rail at the rear axle, and just outside the rail until the door. Under the door, they run angled out and forward towards the front right...

YES: RV Solar/ Li/ and AC running full time

To clarify, I do have a middle vent, and a rear vent, one has a power fan. I will keep both, and both will open. But instead of opening into a vent 'cover' they will open now into a space below a solar panel. Same rain guarding, same airflow. And that's why the new brackets will allow a 6 inch...

Great thinking with the Webasto, yeah. I've always wondered what it would be like to get off my propane furnace (which I LOVE, so hot!) but this is a great amount of battery. It's possible if you've been following my comments on this thread you're thinking I'm ready for a system re-do, and...

    24v system for Jeep Wrangler

... Tiny Air Conditioner? Do tell! I'm interested in these expedition vehicle builds.. Thanks Have you looked at a 'buck convertor' to get the 12v up to 24? That's a popular method, and seems reliable. A 2000w invertor for 24v might be a bit expensive. You're batteries should do just fine.

Very true. Thanks for posting your results. It's a great comparison, even with the different cooling unit and different camper unit. I'll admit your roof looks good. Yes. I did a strip and re-cover on my roof at 21 years of age (RV age) and I believe it was only one step different from yours... I think you could have reroofed for the same effort. I'm also guessing the price is similar. In any case I also hope the liquid will...
