    Extremely inflated wattage claims

I have been searching for flexible solar panels for a small electric boat project I would like to build. It appears most of the flexible panel sellers out and out lie about the panels output. They claim 100 watts-200 watts for panels about 26" x 44". To me those ratings are totally impossible...

    First lithium iron battery

Bought my first lithium iron battery. I am using agm batteries in a small solar system. I am curious about lithium iron batteries in solar so I thought I'd get one. I found a 100ah Chins 12volt for $309 and that seemed like a good price. I have seen video on youtube that shows the Chins battery...

    Grounding

I have a 120vac inverter from my solar going to a dp on-off-on manual transfer switch. The commercial hot and neutral are isolated from the inverter hot and neutral. The output of the switch goes to one 120 volt receptacle that my computer plugs in to. My question is should I tie the ground from...

    Solar computer power

Got my inside panel up and running. I've been running my laptop always on for a couple of days. As soon as I get the inverter on/off and battery voltage meter wired. I will be adding my TV computer and modem to the solar power. My main goal is to keep my lines of communication open during power...

    Wen generators

Anyone familiar with Wen generators? I bought a 1550watt. Haven't got it yet. Needed something for power when working on my 10 acres away from an outlet. 500 foot extension cord is a bit much to stretch out.ch out.

    Is it just me?

I wish people would speak English. I hate all the abbreviations and anachronyms. Us simple folk like me have to spend more time looking stuff up and I tend to forget the original path I'm trying to follow. I am, after all, old and blonde. Just saying.

    Bumping it up some.

Well, I decided to add some more to my solar experiment. Started out with (4) 100 watt 12volt panels, (2) Vmax 125ah batteries, a 1200 watt inverter, with a Renogy 30amp charge controller. Found (2) 180 watt 12volt panels at a good price, so bought those. Adding another Vmax 125ah battery and a...

    Question about dump load circuit.

Doesn't this circuit load up the batteries when the controller engages the dump load? Wouldn't it be better to bypass the battery bank? Asking because I am no expert for sure. Just seems like common sense to bypass the battery bank.

    My favorite tool

It is not directly related to solar power, but I did use it to cut my mounting rails on my solar panels. I just like to watch it work and because it never gets tired! Ha Ha

    Solar panel angle

How much of a difference in output does changing the panels angle to the sun during the year make. Is it worth the trouble? 4 times a year? Asking because I am in the process of building my mount and trying to decide if I should make it easily adjustable. I'm new at this stuff as you can...

    New from NW Florida Panhandle

Hello fellow sunshine worshippers. New to the forum and new to off-grid power. I live out in the woods and am retired. I like to spend my time on old tractors, cars, motorcycles, and just generally piddle around. Decided to step off into building a small solar/wind system to run my TV computer...
