    Never Used Hybrid PIP LV2424 2400W 25V 120V/240V

Less than a year, and never used it, powered it up once and that was it, otherwise just sat in the shed. correction: a little over a year

    Never Used Hybrid PIP LV2424 2400W 25V 120V/240V

I bought it brand new from USA MPP from ebay last year, was never able to get the rest of the stuff I need. just sat in my shed. Would like to get something back for it. $400 plus shipping, or pick it up if you are in South Florida.

Use Single Hybrid MPP 110V semi-grid mode?

No worries, let me try and explain better. the input for the grid back-up into the device, is that or can that be the same is the 110VAC load ouput? if so, does it matter that part of that circuit has half of a 220 appliance on it?

Use Single Hybrid MPP 110V semi-grid mode?

So it is going into my house, and I have a few 220 loads, AC, Oven, etc... but for the time being can I just plug load side into the house 110-120VAC so that at least some of those are powered by solar? Or do the grid-tie and loads have to be separate?

Use Single Hybrid MPP 110V semi-grid mode?

I wasn't able to find in search, but I have 01- LV 2424, that was made for US 110VAC, I know it can be used paired with another for split phase power. My question is can I use just one of these, plug it into the house but turn off the back-feed mode and have the house take from the panels during...

Bare Minimum to charge an EV

That might actually work, the area I am looking at putting the panels are "permanently" parked trailers being used as rooms attached to the warehouse. My cousin is the owner and has a Tesla, I've run the idea already by him about putting a charging station at work. The face southwest and get a...

Bare Minimum to charge an EV

I was thinking a grid-tie might be the easiest, it should have the builtin protection that if there's not enough going in then output would stop to charger.

Bare Minimum to charge an EV

Mine can accept DC to DC fast charging, you are correct at around 400V, but to get a set up to work via solar would require more surface area than I have available. I am hoping to get 220V at low amps, 8-13A.

Bare Minimum to charge an EV

Whatever I can get, I know I'm going to need at least 5 panels to make any sort of dent in the charging. But my car is a PHEV not a full on EV so the battery is smaller, just thinking 6 large panels wired in series to whatever I need.

Bare Minimum to charge an EV

I'm looking to set up a simple solar charging station at work, but I don't need a full on system, backup batteries, grid-tie or anything like that. Just hey if it's sunny out I can charge my car, 220 would be great but 110 will work. Just want Solar panels, whatever in between and then an...

Air Conditioners in Florida consume more power than Las Vegas to cool from 95° to 78° F

I grew up in Southeast Florida but also lived in some other states. Humidity makes everything suck, in Louisiana and Alabama you don't have the ocean breezes you get in South FL, so even more humidity with no wind, you have trouble breathing. But even worse was the winter, 35 degrees with 100%...

    Patio Solar Generator

So updates from my other posts to this setup, I've added a BMS and figured out how to reset it, also added a 200A relay, and that is working beautifully. But the next morning when the panels recharge the battery I find the BMS again in a fault/protect state, it does not automatically rest. I...

Another new member, building for home in Puerto Rico

Following along, as well. I was born there and still have some family there. I read about them allowing microgrids for communities and glad they are allowing it. I was just there last Thanksgiving, and now hearing about the earthquakes, man that's rough. I have a small solar generator working on...

    BMS Not working

OK, BMS is working as it should, but I don't think it resets on it's own. Still need to do more testing, but my other issue is I think I will need to use relay trick Will used because when I plug the fridge into the strip the BMS goes into a fault state, requiring shorting of the Neg terminals...

    Solar wifi security camera

as @namesgolden mentioned earlier take a look at Ubiquiti, for what you are planning, they are a one stop shop. AP's, Long range Wireless bridges, POE IP Cameras, even intergrated MPPT Solar Charge Controllers with switches. Only thing you'll need to buy outside of them is solar panels and...

    BMS Not working

I missed the video but you 2 are absolutely correct. I had left everything hooked up except the BMS output, so last night thought what the heck just take sec. shorted it to the negative terminal and check it the voltage and sure enough there it was. I will hook everything up later today.

    BMS Not working

yep double checked everything and nothing voltage. is there any indication the BMS is working? should I connect the cell cables first then the loads?

    BMS Not working

From my small Patio Build determined I needed a BMS to protect the battery. Picked up the one from the website suggestions, and followed the diagram but even with a full battery it is not allowing voltage to pass to 12V appliance side, my inverter in this. Which max draw I believe is 40 AMP, and...

    Patio Solar Generator

Yep, learned quickly the cutoff for the inverter still draws even though the loads are disconnected. My BMS just came in the mail yesterday, for my loads which are relatively low in comparison I went with the one recommended by Will, foregoing the relay trick because max amps will be about 10...

    24v sockets

I was looking into these myself, but when you're shopping for sockets and appliances most of them have a range of input voltages. I have a combination socket and battery meter that will accept 12-24V DC input and safely output 12V to devices. Some devices as well accept a range of input voltages...

    Inverter problems

That's what I was afraid of, looks like I need to put more equipment in the mix. also maybe not wire the battery directly to the inverter, have something else in line to ensure a true low voltage disconnect.

    Inverter problems

No BMS on it. The inverter has a built-in low-voltage cutoff around 10V I think, but I notice the screen and indicators stay lit even passed the LV cutoff. I'm guessing cuts power to AC loads but still monitors battery, illuminates indicators. also the LCD on the charge controller stays on...

    Inverter problems

Did some testing, definitely the inverter, which is odd. Something about the battery switching over under load. but a power cycle using the inverter power switch fixes the issue, going to have to add a relay or something to smooth things over. But while I have your attention, I've noticed a...

Sudokeji 1200Watt Pure Sine Wave. yes I leave it on all the time. Right now the only load is a couple string LED lights, but I was hoping to put a larger load later. So when the battery reaches the cutoff voltage the ATS correctly shifts power to public, now the inverter is still powered on...

    Inverter problems

So my small off-grid solar generator setup that includes Automatic Power Transfer switch featured in one of the videos I've figured out is working fine, although when running off public power, the display turns off on the ATS. Transfer Switch not Switching to shore?

Hello? Is this thing on? I'm still finding the transfer switch off on the morning, despite being plugged into the house, it is not switching over to shore power even though the cutoff is set higher than the inverter. This morning I found my battery pack reading 6V on the charge controller...

Transfer Switch not Switching to shore?

As seen in my Show & Tell Post I recently finished my 200Watt patio off-grid setup with the Automatic Power Transfer Switch featured in Will's site and video. From the Solar side everything appears to be working, Panels go into MPPT, Battery gets charged, and inverter supplies to power strip...

    Properly size your cables

That should be OK, what is shown is an extension cord that is heating up and 10+ degrees above surrounding air. This happens to be in a bedroom at night. Also that set up was at the higher end of recommended safe amperage, if it were further out of range the effect would be greater and could...

    Properly size your cables

I know Will has said it many times, others have said it. But here is a perfect example why. 1st pic is a 16AWG 15ft extension card, next is 12AWG 10ft cord, load is the exact same, my PHEV which is currently drawing 110V at 8A. My example never got above 80F but will eventually wear out the...
