OffGrid Home - 30kW too much?

Plus shipping I figure? Still. Pretty reasonable for what it does. Want one if I bring in five or six. I'm in eastern Ontario.

OffGrid Home - 30kW too much?

Ya. I reached out to them as well. I didn't get any pricing though. Nor an answer on the voltage range. So thanks for the voltage range info. What did you get for a price?

OffGrid Home - 30kW too much?

Jake, do you have one of these? What's the lowest voltage it starts at. I'm repurposing NMC from LG Chem. It would be nice if I could set 42v to start and 48 to cut off. Upnorth. Diesel can be a pain when its cold.

    Deye hybrid inverter

Jake, short answer is two strings of 5 panel. Your solar panels are likely to get up over 50v when it's cold. And too high voltage = magic smoke. So 10x50=smoke. 5x50=250. What's the start up on the solar controller? I'm guessing like 80v.

Samlex: Dual AC and Solar Controller inputs, BMS Controllable, Fully programmable

The MultiPlus is very easy to configure. Use your phone and a dongle. I build solar systems by the dozen and I've really learned to appreciate the reliability and ease of use of Victron equipment. Nice work being done here.

Help needed - 48VDC system (Skoolie)

Ah. This is more of DIY handyman adventure then. Fair enough. I should have read the earlier posts. blush. My thoughts are more along the line of "what's most reliable" and has the best return on investment. I'm not sure you'll have much luck with getting a decent roi on a belt driven dc...

Help needed - 48VDC system (Skoolie)

Just be aware that AC appliances are wide spread and mass manufactured. So will be cheaper in the long term. Just look a the price of an AC 18 cf fridge vs the dc equivalent. With inverters in the 94% efficient range ... Tecchie. The Victron Quattro will handle the two AC inputs. The DC input...

    Off grid system - NorCal

One thing people forget when comparing batteries is storage cost. By that I mean the battery requires space and racking. So an AGM battery vs lithium is cheaper to buy. But racking costs more and space is triple. When houses cost 150 sq ft to build, you're extra storage space often surpasses the...

Help needed - 48VDC system (Skoolie)

Look at what JiPe did and copy. That's a sweet system. Nice to see the Victron crowd here. Look. I've helped people build off grid and bus systems for the past 3 years. Done quite a few. Many dozen. Had all kinds of hassles, headaches and heart breaks. Victron is the cats meow right now. The few...

    Off grid system - NorCal

I go by the size of the inverter. Under 1kw. 12v is fine. Under 3 kw. 24v sure. Over 3kw inverter. 48v. Lithium for sure. Get a good active balancer. I really love Victron. Its just reliable. And really easy for the DIYer to manage. Plus the history read out on the solar controller and the ease...

New Inverter time... Multiplus or something else?

New here. I'll say Multiplus. Your cheapy inverter is probably going to rattle itself to death soon. Some of them are built pretty good, but but. If you're thinking lithium battery pack. Maybe wait and do a 48v lithium pack with a Quattro? Interesting to see how everyone copes with 240 split...
