    Ant BMS short circuit error

Guys I am using an ANT BMS with a 18 AMP 48 V battery pack to drive a 1000 w bicycle motor. If I start and run the motor in the air I have no problem running it. However when I sit on the bicycle and try to power up my BMS errors out with a short circuit message. (And no comments about me being...

the easy way to keep your cells balanced is...active balancing

This where my understanding of electricity gets hazy. By my understanding a resistor is a load and therefore theoretically would not short. However I presume a low value resistor is really not a load at all and this is when a short occurs. I'm sure there is some fancy math to determine when a...

the easy way to keep your cells balanced is...active balancing

Ok so this is what I am thinking of doing 16S pack Connect all positive leads of active balancer to each cell (Sam as BMS) Connect negative lead of cell to resistor I have a 6.8 ohm at hand. Is that too low Connect negative lead to battery Let me know if this sounds right

the easy way to keep your cells balanced is...active balancing

Can you share details of how you pre-charge the capacitors. Did you use a power supply and what value resistor? How did you set up the wiring?.

    ANT BMS Setting

I need help with My ANT BNS Settings. Specifically these 2 screens. One is the connect resistance and one is the Hall speed sensor. For the resistance I presume I shoudl measure each cell and use that or use the spec supplied by manufacturer. On the hall sensor I have no idea All help appeciated

    Diode for Charging

Hi Mike, I'm intending to use it as a battery charger as I like if for the following Reasons 1) You can set a high voltage cutoff independent of the use selectable high voltage 2) I intend to use it to charge my 48 v to power my yacht motor. As such I want to be able use it to top the...

    Balancing Questions

Im using a Xantrax XHR 20-50. Max Amps is 50. Batteries are 200AH with 1C. Am I right in that .2c would be 40 Amps multiplied by 20 batteries = 800Amps?

    Balancing Questions

Couple of novice questions regarding balancing 1) Im balancing 20 cells in parallel. Surely the voltage at the furthest terminal from my power supply will end up with less voltage due to resistance on my busbars. How do i solve for this? 2) Related to this, how tight do I need to make my...

24S ANT BMS wiring for 16S

Guys, On the ANT BMS the left hand balance connector has 10 white wires and 2 red wires. The right hand one has 1 black and 13 white. This gives me a total of 23 white. I know that the black is the neg and the final red is supposedly power for BMS. I'm presuming the second to last red is the...

Variable Power Supply and MPPT for charging LifePO4 bank

Ok so I have a further question I have been testing a Xantrex Power Supply. You can set voltage and current as well as activate the over voltage protection on the power Supply. Why would I not just use this as my charger. Do I need an MPPT or PWM at all?

As soon as I tried to increase the amperage it dropped the voltage to below 2 .6v...
