How to configure the JDB heating pins (JBD-AP21S001)

I did find on some other forum a description of some parameters, but have no idea how to access them, or even how to be sure that the heating function is turned on (I bought the BMS version that does support heating). Has anyone have any success with using those pins?

How to configure the JDB heating pins (JBD-AP21S001)

Hi all, Does anybody know if the bms allows configuring when the heating pins can provide voltage, for controlling relays/Mosfets for heating pads? Is it tied to the Low temp protection parameter? Or is it set at a certain fixed value? Cant find anything via the Bluetooth app and the...

    JBD BMS not balancing?

I also have a jbd BMS, and had much better result with charge balance turned off. The reason, as I understand, is as stated that the BMS considers anything below 500mA as not charging. I have set, in my SCC, boost duration to 120min (starting when boost voltage (3.5v) is reached) In my setup...

MPPT controller, BMS and inverter recommendations

You don't need a BMS for lead acid. Just don't discharge below 50% SOC. Microwave requires a 1500W inverter minimum. Two panels in series are below 100V (Voc), so a Epever with 100V / 10a would be fine.

130ah 24V lipo4. What pv, controller, breaker size is best for complete off grid.

Your panels would give you 5h x 600W=3000Wh on a perfect sunny day during summer. But in case of rainy season or winter (mutliple days of clouds) this would more like 5hx100W=500Wh a day. Your battery has 3100Wh, so you have 1.3 day of autonomy (too low). Your system cannot sustain 2400wh daily...

130ah 24V lipo4. What pv, controller, breaker size is best for complete off grid.

Without information about your expected load (energy usage) its hard to answer any of those questions. Whats the max Watt you will see? Whats the daily Wh usage? Will it be used all year? How many sun hours do you see at your location at winter (if northen hemisphere) All this can be checked...

130ah 24V lipo4. What pv, controller, breaker size is best for complete off grid.

So you can connect all 4 panels in series. I would recommend that if placed next to each other with minimal risk of shading. Please provide questions so it would be easier to know your problem(s).

130ah 24V lipo4. What pv, controller, breaker size is best for complete off grid.

A bit too little information. What's are the panel's Isc and Vsc? How will you connect them? What is the max V allowed by the Epever? What max load do you expect to see? What's kind of BMS? Overall the components seem compatible if properly connected What exactly are your questions regarding...

Is EPEVER MPPT solar charge controller capable of low temp shut off?

I can confirm that my Epever Triron 40a Mppt does have a programmable low temp cut off that does work (tested using frozen salt water). I'm using the external temp sensor. I'm very happy with this unit. I use the rs485 port to connect to Arduino. Works great.

Can someone tell me the difference between EPEVER 40a MPPT Contollers?

I have the epever Triron 40a, it has a low temp sensor, and lithium profile options. It's has a modular design, I use the rs485 output to remotely read parameters (via microcontroller /w WiFi)). Overall can recommend it, been working for over 2 years without problems

    Brands of LiFePo4 China

They are the mostly the same in terms of internal parameters, they differ in appearance. Most unused lishen rate a bit more than the rated 272 so the capacity is also very similar. I would pick based on availability and price and seller reputation, not battery manufacturer. For 272-280ah, the...

    Brands of LiFePo4 China

That is quite expensive. For comparison, I bought 8x 272Ah lishen from Qishou with DDP shipping to Poland (via rail). The price was ~850 USD with shipping. This was in December, received the batteries after 7 weeks, the weakest cell was 278Ah. Overall I was satisfied.

Summary of my battery options from China, lifepo4 3.2v 280ah cells.

I've ordered 8 cells from Quishou on Dec, received in Feb. All were 272 lishen. They widely differed in manufacturing date (based on QR code) and differed in Capacity, but the weakest cells was around 278ah, so can't complain :). The packaging was good.

Nominal capacity - enter the rated capacity of battery (ex 280ah) The BMS will show a projected capacity based on the cell thresholds that you set (20,40,60,80% voltage values) and with each discharge cycle will evaluate the projected capacity The reset capacity resets the calculations made by...

Charging using a power supply without current limitation

Just an update for anyone in a similar situation to share my experience. I used 2x 100w 0.1Ohm resistors in parallel used a piece of aluminium as an additional heatsink. I set the charging voltage to 29V which resulted in 20-25A of current. Each resistor dissipated around 15W, much below the...

Lishen 272Ah - Ah measurement way off - Help!

Im not sure that rule is correct. Due to the linear curve of the voltage drop it is hard to estimate the capacity based on voltage in the 20-80% capacity range. Here is some table I've found, hope this helps. If your not using a BMS non stop monitoring of the cell voltage during discharge is...

Lishen 272Ah - Ah measurement way off - Help!

13.12V is 3.28V per cell. You can safely discharge to 2.5V per cell. You still got a lot of capacity in the battery. Did you connect a BMS? Of not please do so when connecting batteries is series. It's easy to damage your cells if one discharges below 2.5V

Charging using a power supply without current limitation

Charging using a power supply without current limitation

Thank you guys for your input. Based what I understand I could go 2 ways: 1 - using a resistor (100W , 0.1Ω) in series should limit the current to below 35A with a 3V voltage difference between the power supply and batteries. This is the cheapest option, I can get one locally for around 6 USD...

Will the power supply also see it as a short circut if I set the voltage only slightly higher then the resting voltage of the pack (In accordance to Ohms law)? Thanks snoobler for your reply, will do as you recommend. When calculating the max voltage difference betweem the batteries and power supply setting (limited by either the 40A or 600W) using Ohms law, can I simply use the internal resistance of the batteries (~0.2 mΩ x 8 in series) plus the...
