    MASSIVE Overpaneling -MPPT input current

Please STOP IMMEDIATELY ! You are about to burn your system up ! You cannot over panel as you describe - it will fail and terribly so. When the 100/20 SCC (Solar Controller) @ 48V is limited to 100VDC, 1160W MAX input and 20A. Exceed the PV Voltage & Max Amps it will fry the fuse hopefully...

    JK BMS mis-numbering?

These BMS' support either 8S or 16S. With 8S you use only the 1st & 2nd sense harnesses where with 16S you use all 4. Each sense harness has it's own Temp Sense (2 black wires). Here is a slightly sharpened diagram that may help.

    Solar panels cause bad weather.

New Growatt hybrid inverter SPH10000TL- HU-US split phase

Blaming an OEM who makes a device to a VAR's specs is not quite right, seriously. Example, DeWalt & Black & Decker power tools are made in the Same Factory in China. Both tools are designed & engineered in Texas and the OEM who makes follows the design & spec as provided per contract. Now we...

    Luyuan battery case

The older version of the JK's have a different harness, they are not compatible. Each segment has a Temp Sensor on the new models. If using 8S you get to use 2 Temp Sensors, if 16S you get 4. At this time te JK-Inverter model is 100A/150A/200A. A NOTE (general) If you have a 150A BMS that is...

New Growatt hybrid inverter SPH10000TL- HU-US split phase

I was INVOKED for a ? Pissing Contest ? Seriously ? The FACT is that companies like Growatt are both OEM's & VARS do produce stuff in-house BUT they also subcontract a lot out to the Big Production houses like SRNE, Voltronic because in realty it is the most cost-efficient way to go. I'd...

    Luyuan battery case

The 150A & 200A are the same physical size. I also got the 200A JK-Inverter models with 200A breakers in all my boxes. Gotta say, my bank is such that no battery pack ever sees such a draw. 6x280AH. The silicone wire is the best option really, they handle more & use ultra-fine silvered wire...

Indirectly BMS-Inverter + RS232/RS485 to TCPIP/Ethernet conversion with USRIOT server

Necro post. I gave up on that USRIOT thing and binned it. I also changed BMS' to standard JK and now revamping my whole bank with JK-Inverter BMS' and more. Lot happens in 4 years ! LOL The link for my system diagrams etc is in my "About My System" link in my signature. NOTE it is...

    Luyuan battery case

Small stuff (<2.5kg) and small package size, by air is not as bad as most think. I get things by air if it's small & need it fast and the bit extra it costs is better than waiting 6-9 weeks. Are you also getting the 4.3" screen for the JK Inverter BMS ?

    Float Lifepo4?

Cells are factory tested to comply within the Working Voltage Range (3.000-3.400 V per cell). The allowable range that causes no harm is 2.500-3.650. From 2.900 down to 2.5 that decrease is FAST (the cliff fall)/ from 3.450 to 3.650 is the cliff climb and never stays because the Chemistry...

    Float Lifepo4?

28.2V = 3.525 Volts per cell in 8S. That is 1.25V over Working voltage and does NOTHING other than stress the cells. 3.450 is pretty much max for long-life healthy cells. But do whatever you want with YOUR batteries, it's your wallet, your problem/troubleshooting chasing magic ghostly...

    Luyuan battery case

I have several JK's out there setup like that, see below. No problems with it BUT I did use a Hydraulic Crimper to ensure the best & tightest crimps. TIP: Because the wires are silicone, use Heatshrink with adhesive/sealant, (call it lessons learned).

Wiring two banks (4 each) of SOK server rack batteries together

You have a few options available to you. 1) Wire each pack to a common DC Bus in parallel. 2) Wire each set of 4 to a common DC Bus. Linking 4 packs as you have done per rack and routing each rack to a BUS. This could allow for a Switch for Bank 1 & 2 or both Combined 3) Link both racks by...

Going from 24V to 48V, some questions

I cannot speak to any EG4 product. I do not & will not use an AIO type system. Batteries in Parallel share/divide loads. As I setup my refreshed bank of 6x280AH packs each with 200A BMS, that can deliver 1200A combined without going over BMS rating. I've previously pushed things to extreme...

    Float Lifepo4?

Here is a moderate profile which keeps LFP within the Working Voltage Ranges without stressing any cells. This also generally avoids having over volt disconnect issues & such which many encounter. Continually overdriving the cells above the Working Range is NOT doing you any favours. Bulk /...

Going from 24V to 48V, some questions

I would suggest a different approach to this conundrum. I have run LFP banks with different H packs.. Most "radical" was, 1x100AH, 2x175AH, 2x280AH in parallel. It works fine but there are a few quirks as you can imagine. In fact, after a couple of years I decided to cleanup & harmonize it...

    64 eve lLF280k version3 cells in 8P8S configuation 24-volt build December 28th, 2023

I'm just curious if you ever drain that beast down to say 15 or 20% and then go to charge it, how long & how much will that take to get to 3.45V per cell.

The whole compression thing has been beaten to death & regurgitated too often.... 300kg 660lbs Go ahead squeeze a cell with that pressure - stand back and be protected when you do. The tin around a Prismatic cell is NOT THICKER than a Soda Pop Can. BUT WHATEVER - Your Money, Your Risks &...

Vatrer Server Rack - battery arrived!

I am sorry but I feel I need to point out that these cases are not intended to be in that position. This puts the cells on their sides and then you have the weight/gravity issue of pressure on cells. We have seen Several packs with cells on their sides develop issues. Please do consider that.

HEADS-UP ~ Lessons Learned Dept ! When ordering cases WITHOUT Cells (when you have your own & want to install into cases) it is VERY Important to account for the different cells terminal spaces. Even with EVE LF280* Cells, the terminals may be either tapped holes, welded studs or the new...

Vatrer Server Rack - battery arrived!

Looking at those photo's that is quite well built IMO, I'm stealing an idea out of those pics for my Cases. I really like that they uses cells with Studs, so "if" something goes wonkey they can be swapped (not likely needed). For 1K I would say that's not a bad deal at all, especially with S&H...

JK BMS does not stop/block charging after cel OVP is reached

Victron uses TAILCURRENT settings which you need to use in your Charge profile. Additionally your charging profile is more than likely pushing too far. This is a path many have travelled. Please understand that the BMS is "Last Line of Defence", the basic JK's do their job well and manage...

Basen EVE 280 Dead as a Doornail in 3 years.

COOL, nothing like making cool stuff starting with a sheet. My dual-hole laminated bars are tinned with heat shrink as well. The copper mesh single-hole, are tinned in the ends but not the mesh itself. My Sense/Balance leads are going on the screw hole as before. A dry crimped with folded...

Basen EVE 280 Dead as a Doornail in 3 years.

When I bent mine, I made sure the step was right on (I used to restore show cars, so metal work = no thought required). Either way works because that step needs to be negotiated. As I update my packs to new cases etc, I am using new dual terminal cells w/ flexible laminated copper bars but all...

Basen EVE 280 Dead as a Doornail in 3 years.

You'll be hard pressed to find any 280H cells with tapped M6 holes now. 280K's with Weelded studs are avail;able from Amy @ Luyuan, while most are B-cells she may have access to A cells with posts (maybe but not likely). You CAN mix those in 2 ways. 1) Using a Copper Mesh Busbar with single...

Battery SOC When topped up by Solar

You can safely keep LFP at 100% of the Working Voltage Range without any issues whatsoever over the lifespan of the cells. Note that the working voltage range for LFP is from 3.000-3.400 which is the range that delivers the actual rated Amphours of the cells. If you charge your battery packs...
