Take Two, please rate and/or berate

So here's take two. For the vehicles charging system, I'll be doing a Big Three upgrade along with a higher output alternator. 2 AWG Pos & Neg cable will be run from the battery to "electric closet" BSS 60amp breaker for house & vehicle battery with vehicle most likely mounted under hood...

    Looking for a 12v fuse box/panel w/rear terminals

For my install a fuse box with terminals on the backside would be the bee's knees. However, after searching around yesterday I only came up with one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N25TJV3/?coliid=INV7Y8BWZWUVH&colid=2KPBM55BS504P&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it Figured I'd check to see if anyone knows...

Looking for house battery placement input

Thanks, that's a good idea. I'd actually just dabbled with a FreeCAD last year, time to do some more! Along with fitting, being able to slide out/remove the works I'd have to have some easy disconnect points or something like this: 2 AWG 175 Amp https://www.summitracing.com/parts/aaf-all76322

    Top Balancing "How to"

Thanks, I was wondering about that. I do have balance tap adapters, I'll solder up some wires for 4S and finish off with a balance charge.

    Top Balancing "How to"

Thanks Snoobler, I'd ended up going with one of those batteries I'd linked in my other thread. I found something that said cells should be top balanced before connecting the BMS and in searching I came across Will's video on it a couple days ago then this thread. I have an RC/hobby charger I...

Looking for house battery placement input

Yes, but I believe it will still discharge down to 0ish or so. That's where I think up top will help in the winter, even it dips to freezing or below at night being under the high top should warm up fairly quickly once the sun is up. I'm converting my conversion van, so where ever I end up...

Looking for house battery placement input

Okey doke, I'll go with the alcove then and put a couple circulating fans in and monitor temps in the summer/warmer weather. I'd looked into thermal environments etc but didn't find anything to help this decision. Thanks!

Looking for house battery placement input

I'm planning on travelling around a bit trying to travel with the weather, southerly in the winter and northerly in the summer in hopes of avoiding lengthy extreme heat or cold. So I wouldn't expect below 32 nights frequently, but in warmer weather in the alcove in direct sunlight I'd imagine...

Looking for house battery placement input

So I have a conversion van that I've gutted to convert. The house battery I'd planned on mounting in the alcove above the front seats as it's a nice out of the way spot. Then I got to thinking it may get too hot up there in the summer so I was thinking about mounting them in the back behind the...

    Kisae DMT-1250 Install Questions

So my DMT-1250 will be arriving today, hopefully, and I still have yet to run wires to the back of my van to mount it. It calls for Pos. & Neg. on each connection, I can just run a Pos. cable back from the battery and a Neg. from the frame to a distribution rail and then connect individual Neg...

Renogy DC DC Charger w/ MPPT

Not necessarily, in the case of a previous post, dude had his starter battery drain attempting to charge the house battery. While the system seems to be generally decent, if you look above at my previous post 503 you'll see a quick rundown. I myself haven't purchased yet and am thinking I'll try...

    How to power a cpap

What are you guys using to measure consumption? I have a 120v plug in model that can read live A & W draw, boy I wish it draw me a draft A&W, and as well total W usage over an elapsed time. So this morning it shows .14 KWH over 6.6 hours, which is 14000W divided by 120V for 116.6A? Seems high to...

    How to power a cpap

Interesting, I'm looking forward to the results. While I have a ResMed unit, my sister has a DreamStation she never uses and even said I could have before I got mine through health care. Oh yeah, so I'd like to see about a head to head on 12v consumption.

Understanding amps role through a vehicle system

Actually, one more question about calculating charge time. Certainly a 50A charger would charge faster than a 30A, but how much faster? Maybe saving $50 on a charger is worth an X minute longer charge...

Understanding amps role through a vehicle system

So one aspect I'm finding a little mystifying, amps and component selection. Charger amperage selections, the rated amperage is what it can put in to the battery, and as well take from the alternator. So for this it needs to fall within charge specs for the battery, and available alternator...

Renogy DC DC Charger w/ MPPT

So after reading through the entire thread, here's my take on the gist: Unit limits current from one input if any current is sensed from the other input Can drain starter battery if house battery is low LFP float voltage is high, adjustable w/BlueTooth module There were some other things...

    How to power a cpap

I tested mine last night, on 110 though, with the humidifier on and doing a preheat prior to use it came up with .17 kw over 7.5 hours. Humidifier is set on 4 out of 8. It does use some juice in standby mode, also as well being a cellular device I'm sure it's doing other stuff in the background...

Integrated RPI/Arduino in your solar system?

Just curious if anyone is using an RPi or Arduino in their solar setups, either for the DIY factor, or in place of a not readily available product. First time dabbler, just curious to see real world practical use applications.

Found some CALB cells locally, look like a good deal?

Thanks for your time and help Snoobler. I think for now I'm just going to go with an AGM or gel battery. Plus I'll have more to put towards a solar panel. This DIY battery stuff is too much for me right now, and non-DIY batteries are too much $$ for me right now lol.

Found some CALB cells locally, look like a good deal?

I'm not certain of anything at this point other than there's too much uncertainty around all this... I give up for now, getting a little frustratedly overwhelmed. But as far as a testing plan, no, I don't know how or what to test, I do have a multimeter for a volt check.

Found some CALB cells locally, look like a good deal?

Yeah, but seems they are all in China? I'd prefer something US based, or at least US inventory for a first time experience with all this. Mainly for quicker initial delivery and in case and warranty issues arise, hopefully a replacement would only be states away instead of the other side of the...

    How to power a cpap

My water chamber comes off as well but requires a separate plate to be installed to complete the air circuit. I'd just gotten one as I haven't used the humidifier in moths, but with dry winter upon us I've been using it of late. I need to recheck W usage. I have a ResMed AirSense10

Cool, thanks, being unsure figured I'd ask. Spot on about just buying from an actual company over CL.

Found some CALB cells locally, look like a good deal?

Contemplating going with them, do they look like a good deal, anything I should ask or look for? $70 cheaper than the 120ah batter I'd been looking at, plus no sales tax. https://washingtondc.craigslist.org/nva/for/d/fairfax-lifepo4-100-h-battery-cells/7238704366.html
