I believe you fixed the 240V panel neutral / ground bond issue.
You've made it clear that between the AirCon ground and 110 plug ground, you are not going to install a separate grounding electrode - I can agree that that is safe even if it is not what is recommended.
Installing an equipment...
Yes (?) I can't speak for Will, but from the perspective of a viewer, the videos were framed as this is how to install this system and nothing else is needed. I did not see a mention of any future racking or grounding in the 'how to' video, the followup video on grounding, or the followup...
Now come on, we were making progress. As stated before, spamming is subjective but I would hope that people look at the youtube comment image at the top of the thread and decide for themselves. Surely a single thread on the forum is not spamming.
Edit to repeat my previous response to being...
I cant really answer all your questions, just not familiar enough with this piece of equipment. But, I think the max PV charge current is 30A. There's a discrepancy between the overview and specifications on the aliexpress page so I looked up the technical specs, here...
I'm referring to the panel in his video- a 240V panel supplied power by the two LV6548 inverters. It is not really a sub panel and definitely not a service entrance panel. In respect to the ground/neutral bonding, it is acting like a sub-panel since the neutral and ground is bonded internally...
Will, we agree here. I am saying - per this post https://diysolarforum.com/threads/lv6548-grounding-issues.21531/- that the Neutral and ground is bonded internally within the LV6548 inverters on the AC out connection. Definitely run three conductors to the panel, definitely bond all the...
I don't know how to say that I did not, other than I did not. I did comment each of the two videos. Excluding one comment I made on the other video, every comment is included in the above screen shot.
Edit to add: As the youtube channel owner, you can still see all my comments. Please post...
As you know, the earth is not a grounding conductor. There are shock hazard with ungrounded (no EGC) panel frames in high voltage PV strings.
Your system is in your residence, yes? Sorry if it is mis-categorized, feel free to move it.
I didnt say anything about grounding the PV supply cables. We are talking about an EGC that would ground the PV frames. Why do you think you only need to ground the frames in a grid-tie array?
I do not own this inverter, but per this...
Another good point that the larger the battery - the more money savings. When you get down to a 12V 200AH, 100AH, or lower battery you aren't going to be able to save as much money due to the fixed costs, like the BMS, enclosure, your time, etc.
Good discussion, glad to know that I am not crazy.
I see where your coming from, but think of the context and impact of these videos. He is showing a huge audience how they can "DIY", he is showing them how to do it incorrectly, and (at least in my experience) blocking those that try to warn...
The inverter has a higher fuse amp spec because you could put your panels in parallel rather than series or have different panels. But the fuses or breakers should be sized the lowest rates equipment - the panels in this case.
Fortune cells are super premo and much better quality than the cells in the sok. To compare the sok 12v 200a with a diy battery, you’d want to compare with the cells on Ali express. I would not recommend BLS battery, but for an example, 4x 200ah 3.7 v cells are $525 shipped. +$120 BMS and...
Looks good! My only input is that the PV breaker should be 15A or 20A vs 63A. From the PV spec sheet, it looks like the max current is ~11A and the max series fuse is 20A.
So this thread (and my account) made it past an hour! But we've got quite a few views and no responses, so I'll continue the discussion.
There is a lot of good information in the resources section of the site. I really like the examples and diagrams here...
In your 20A breaker box, is the neutral kept isolated from the ground? If not, the ground conductor returning to your inverter will split the current with your neutral, this in turn will lead to a difference in the load and neutral seen at your GFCI. I'm not 100% on this as am not sure why it...
At the bottom of the thread are images of my comments on this video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=5czI7-9CVrU. The TLDR is that I posted a comment that an ungrounded (no EGC) high voltage (200-250v) PV array could kill someone and that an improperly grounded 240VAC Panel could injure someone. Will...
So to follow-up. I initiated a dispute and was unable to get any refund or replacement from alibaba express or BLS. BLS continued to state faulty BMS and insufficient balancing. Ali stated that my evidence was insufficient.
I don't think you read the second sentence of my original post. Cells were top balanced, charged to 3.6V in parallel and then left in parallel for 12 hours. If you see the first picture I attached, you see that they ended up at 3.512 +- 0.002V.
Also, ignoring the top balance, how can balancing...
Thanks for the info. I dont think it makes sense for me to buy an X8 ICharger at $150 to justify to BLS that I have a bad cell that cost ~$150.
BLS is continuing to run in circles and after the second capacity test, I think both cells 5 and 7 might be bad:
Based on the recommendation and reviews, I bought my first pack of batteries from BLS battery store. I top balanced, capacity tested, and charged and believe that I have one cell (maybe two) that is not allowing the pack to meet its capacity. Ive been in contact with BLS who is blaming the...
