    spt-2 18 awg wire lamp

trying to buy the right replacement ks-30 switch for a lamp, trouble is a don't know the amp draw of the lamp. seems there are 3a and 6a versions of the switch. google tells me the lamp's spt-2 wire is 10a max so i'd guess buy the 6a version? not sure.

they're actually these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B07H4HC1PZ?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title not sure what the difference is, if any

    anderson connectors ಠ_ಠ

i think i ended up using 2awg from one battery to another via busbar or whatever the max guage for the anderson connectors ended up being and then ran the 4/0 from said busbars to the distributor

    swapping out my SCCs

here's what EPEVER said btw: " 1. Generally, we don't recommend connecting multiple controllers in parallel to charge one set battery, due to the different variance of sample, they may display different charging status when battery nearly charge full, such as one charge more one little, which...

    swapping out my SCCs

I built this system with these ( https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B077HHYYHT/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1 ) two solar charge controllers and it's been working alright but I think I should swap 'em out for a single MPPT cuz the company (epever) advises against a multi SCC...

gfci outlet - did i break it?

oh, i did break it but it's cool cuz it's the ground wire and my van solar system doesn't have a ground anyway. also, i guess i can make these connectors work with these crimps:

gfci outlet - did i break it?

i didn't realize the screws weren't meant to come out and i guess i forced it with an impact driver / screw driver attachment. doesn't seem to wanna thread back in. also, i'm not sure i can even use these with stranded wire? the screws don't pop out at all - they're just mean to close an open...

any advice on running extension cord from my inverter to a wall outlet

like, what gauge wire? or anything else? i guess i'm just gonna copy this guy. run the extension cord through conduit. anything i'm forgetting? i've this inverter, roughly: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0131PZ9J2/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

    LiFePO4 settings for EPEVER 40a 4210an - parameter error

¯\_(ツ)_/¯ the battery representative seemed to think the settings were okay with the exception of the over voltage disconnect which i can't set lower than 16v, at least not through the mppt. i'll try, at some point, through my pc.

    LiFePO4 settings for EPEVER 40a 4210an - parameter error

talked to the battery manufacturer about my current settings as well as the SCC manufacturer and figured i'd upload their responses here for the historical record. i suppose i'll replace both charge controllers with one rated for the total amperage at some point. hope they'll be okay until then.

    LiFePO4 settings for EPEVER 40a 4210an - parameter error

there's no such setting using the mt-50. unsure how i'd go about it otherwise.

    LiFePO4 settings for EPEVER 40a 4210an - parameter error

here are my current settings. i think the only things i've been able to change thus far are to "user" from flooded or whatever the default was (there's not lithium setting on this iteration) and batt. ah to 170ah (the amp hours of any 1 of the 4 batteries. should i be setting it to the total of...

i tried these settings: https://diysolarforum.com/threads/charging-lifepo4-batteries.26148/ but i keep getting parameter errors. i'm running 4 12v 170ah each LiFePO4 batteries from bigbattery.com in parallel. running 2 epevers, 6 solar panels each.

my bouge rv 12v fridge comes with a cigarette lighter adaptor for 12v

thanks. how doi tell which is red and which is black? does it matter? also, can i splice it with 10awg to lengthen it (it's 16awg)?

my bouge rv 12v fridge comes with a cigarette lighter adaptor for 12v

is hooking it up to my fuse block as simple as snipping off the adaptor, separating the red from black, crimping, and connecting?

    finally wired!

got everything loaded into the van. anyone know about recommended settings for LiFePO4 batteries? the manual doesn't list any. both for the epever mppt 40a solar charge controllers and the victron smart shunt. i've attached some recommended settings i found on reddit but i'm not sure how many...

    finally wired!

i ran a hair dryer on high for a bit and used my friend's infrared thermometer to scan everything. nothing registered above air temp, around 75, except the inverter itself which was about 5 degrees warmer. also noticed that moments after turning everything off the busbars still register 2 or 3...

it's got an in-line fuse. i moved it to the first node of the positive busbar after taking these pics.

    finally wired!

the battery side of things, at least. just gotta haul it out into the van and connect the solar charge controllers. how's it look? did i screw anything up? i've been too afraid to turn on the batts and test the inverter...

    Is this enough lug contact?

    Is this enough lug contact?

I don't yet have any any other 4/0 lugs so I've been drilling through and modifying these proprietary ones made for Anderson connectors. They're not exactly straight but contact seems pretty good. Thoughts?

wire stripping for crimping: how much wire loss is tolerable

Fared a bit better this time tho i still scraped 'em a bit. these are 8 awg with the uv insulation and they're too thick for the klein tools katapult 11063W, though they shouldn't be. i was losing lots of strands every time. i've just been doing my best with the other tools pictured. i'll...
