4 new 280ah cells, with Overkill BMS to boot $500 (Cells sold, BMS still available $150) [Bellingham, Washington]

You read that right, they're for sale. Bought them last year, and they've been properly stored ever since. I figure my price is fair. $550 for the cells, and $50 for shipping, with a free $160 Overkill BMS thrown in there.. Bellingham, WA

I've got 4 new cells for sale. Would like to sell with an Overkill Solar BMS. All wired up and ready to run.

    Hey all

Well, hello all... I'm sad to say I have to bow out if this battle. I have literally everything to build this system, minus panels. Selling as a bundle would be amazing, though I know it's probably not possible. I'll be back in the next few days to make a formal sale thread....

What options do I have for connectors?

Yeah, I've got those in the cart if I can't find anything else. If nothing else I can always use 2 females and a male on the motor phase wires and heat shrink them together. I'm just looking for something g to clean up/simplify the wiring a bit. Something that looks pretty is a bonus.

What options do I have for connectors?

I'm in the process of building an electric mountain board and I'm having trouble finding a 3 prong plug that can handle what I need. Battery is a 12S5P 18650 lithium Ion. With the motors I'm planning on, 6380's x2, the calculations are saying 62.5A continuous and 87.5A max per motor... Só...

    Hey all

My batteries finally arrived! I dont think they're LISHEN, definitely not what was pictured in the listing when I ordered. Oh well, what can ya do? I'm wanting to order another set of 4 from Michael B Caro, but these don't have labels with the ir rating. I'm thinking about ordering...

    Hey all

Thanks for that little explanation. Still trying to wrap my head around it all. Started thinking about the idea of using one of the all in one units from MPP. Heard a few talking about the noise level of the cooling fans being a bit much, so that and the efficiency level have me worried...

    Hey all

In other news, I was just gifted a 6'X12' flatbed trailer. It's got brakes, lights, and good tires. Will need a bit of stiffening to make a proper base for a camper, bit holy wow this is awesome. Solar budget may be increasing a bit due to this revelation ???

    Hey all

Any recommendations on videos or resources to read about this stuff? Because apparently everything I've read/watched has taught me nothing as I still dont understand any of this. As soon as I think I have it figured, I'm only knocked back on my ass realizing I dont know anything...

    Hey all

You lost me a bit there in paragraph 3. By "fuse on battery", do you mean between the individual cells? Or are you talking about between battery and inverter? Ohhh wait, are you saying a fuse and a breaker between the battery and inverter, with the breaker sized below the breaker... I've redone...

Epever 40A MPPT is the plan. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B07K9HBYPY/ref=ox_sc_act_image_4?smid=A2P9F29Y7BYBUO&psc=1

    Hey all

Ahhh, I see. I thought you would only series connect panels if you were running a 24V+ system...

    Hey all

2s4p was only a consideration when I was confused about my options for an SCC. I thought I would need more controller that I would actually need. So I thought for a sec about going with a 24V system. But that's cleared up now. And I'm back to my original 12V plan. 800W panels, and a 40A...

    Hey all

The specs of the panels I want to buy... they will be wired in paralell Isc: 5.86A X 8 = 46.8A So im thinking 6-8 gauge between the panels and SCC, and the same from the SCC to battery
  18. Noflers

    Hey all

Looks like I'll be skipping the junction and running 6 or 8 gauge from the panels. I both apologize for my hard head, and thank you for your help. I'm trying my best to get this all crammed in my brain. I was still figuring my wire size by adding the amps and only using 12V for the...
  19. Noflers

    Hey all

Except I've decided on 12V... Forgot to mention. Stop at 46.8A, is 4-6 gauge still over kill?
  20. Noflers

    Hey all

Good catch, I checked and 6 gauge is the biggest that can fit.
  21. Noflers

    Hey all

And here's some more crap I already ordered. All self explanatory... Oh and a 9' cord to wire to the outlet.
  22. Noflers

    Hey all

I think I have a better idea of what I need now. The only thing I forgot to add to the cart is the 4 gauge wire to go from the junction of all the panels to the SCC. To break it all down: 1. 8awg wire for between the 4 to 1 branch connectors and junction. 2. Power distribution block (need to...

    Hey all

You're right. Lemme just double check my numbers. For the Rich poly panels I'm thinking of, the specs: Voc: 22.6 Isc: 5.86 So, the total output for 8 panels in parallel. The max amperage would be 46.8A, and the volts 22.6V. Or for 2s4p, the amps would be 23.44A, and 45.2V. Either way, one...
  24. Noflers

    Hey all

I like the sound of that! I just realized, I would still still need two 40A controllers with a 24V system because the voltage will still be too high for just one. And in the future I'd still have to add more controllers for more panels. And in the 6'x8' space where the system will live, the...
  25. Noflers

    Hey all

Well, it's almost time to order panels. I decided against San Tan because while it makes sense to use higher wattage panels, especially when they're so cheap, I'm worried about the structural integrity of the larger panels in a mobile setting. Everything I've read tells me 100w panels are...

    Hey all

Thank you much. I used a few, and I've gone back now and they're giving me what I expect Well, I'm still looking into that server rack mount AC unit and I'm getting to like it more. I found this video of a van where they have the unit and in the comments they say it's running wattage is 160...
  27. Noflers

    Hey all

But if there's more battery than the panels can charge, won't I just be on a slow decline until I'm out of battery? Maybe I'm missing something lol...
  28. Noflers

    Hey all

That's fair, but the problem with that is I'll probably be using the AC in the evening/at night. Sleeping with the genie running might suck, and also figuring out some sort of timer setup so I'm not running the genie all night. If at all possible, I'd like to reserve the genie for construction...

    Hey all

I should also mention the fact that this trailer will spend much of it's life (April-October) in northern California while I'm working. We can usually count on 10 days at 100+ degrees and many more at 90+. This is high desert though, so nights can be cold-ish, and I'll want a heater for those times.
  30. Noflers

    Hey all

Well in the spec sheet of that rack mount AC it's says max power consumption is 276W. I'm not sure if that includes the surge wattage to start the compressor or not though. Through Walmart the smallest I've been able to find are 5000btu units that consume 450W. Again, I'm not sure if that...
  31. Noflers

    Hey all

Nice. I'm thinking I might downsize my trailer build a bit to 8'X6' from the original idea of 9.5'X6.5'. That brings it to 48SqFt, or 312CuFt. That makes me feel a bit better about cooling the thing down and I like the specs on that AC unit, the price too, I like the price lol. Got a reply...

    Hey all

Huh, well I sent a message. Apparently today is the end of the new year holiday there. Guess I'll probably get an answer Monday... Question, does it hurt to use the 40A SCC if I plan to start off with using half (750W) of the array?
  33. Noflers

    Hey all

Hmmm... That's a good question, wasn't thinking about that in my haste to order. Any idea what those charges could come out to? I like this for BMS https://overkillsolar.com/product/bms-120a-4s-lifepo4/ Looking at this for an SCC...

    Hey all

Still unsure on that AC unit, though now I'm looking at one from a company called Rigid out of Australia. It runs on 12V/24V DC and I think it's big enough for my needs Here is a better estimate of my power needs using Snooblers energy audit spreadsheet. Including the 12V air con. Since the...
