I've thought of that but then when the light is out, it feels like it'd be an "out of sight out of mind" kind of thing. I'd rather the light be ON when we're running on battery. It may seem somewhat counter intuitive to some but not to me ... my brain may work differently than others too.

I don't want it to be an audible alarm as I want to see the LED light 100% of the time when we're drawing solely off of the batteries and an alarm would get tiresome. :) It may sound stupid to some but it's just a visual saying that I'm not charging the batteries.

yes it is 120v charger. If I had it plugged into the camper the Multi would be suppling the 120v to the outlet so, the batteries would be trying to charge themselves. It'd be stupid to do this, so I won't, but it is possible. I realize this isn't an apples to apples comparison but I'm trying...
