1 solar panel on the roof would be more discreet than an extension cord. My compressor cooler is very efficient. You could probably get by with 100 amp battery and a hundred watt solar panel.

You need to balance them. You can't do it with the charger you have. What is the voltage of the batteries now. You should probably be testing them out now in case there is any issues with them.

You will probably not have to top balance again. I never had to. I would arrange them in series. That's what everyone does. Shorter bus bars and easier.

Are you going to make a hard top to secure the panels to? It's not easy to connect several panels to a soft top frame with the canvas there and be strong and pretty. I would consider a few ( one row of panels across the stern of the boat. Perhaps three 200w panels it they fit. See how that goes...

If you have a compressor cooler that runs on DC you should have no problem. I have 200w of panels ony boat charging 230 amp battery and I have plenty of power. I have a 9 amp DC to DC charger that I use now and then to charge my mobile packs from the 230 house bank. I run everything off 12v DC.

I would run cable through plastic conduit. Fasten conduit to starboard rectangle or round blocks that are glued to the roof. Screws for conduit straps of the proper length to not go through starboard. No screws through the roof.

What is going to hold the cells together? The bus bars and tape? With smaller cells compression is not as critical. If you ever need to move the battery you will need some sort of compression. The strain on the terminals if or when the cells swell could be enough to cause problems.

What is the voltage of the battery,? Is the battery removable? Perhaps you could have 2 batteries and charge one directly from solar panel. For building a trailer in closure look up foam and poor man's fiberglass (pmf). People are making small boats and camp trailers with this method.

I would parallel the two 85amp batteries and connect to the two 100 watt panels that are connected in series. The other battery connect to remaining panel. Have a selector to connect all batteries when you're running engine or whenever you need to. I like a separate start battery from the house...

18650 have a nominal voltage of 3.7 volts and charge to 4.2 volts. So it's not compatible

Top balancing to 3.60 is plenty good. When in use you don't charge to 3.65. For a fun experiment with one of my small portable packs I might try bottom balancing.

I bring my cells up to 3.65 and stop. Let it settle for few hours and then check each cell. If they are at or near 3.45 I'm finished. If not continue to balance but monitor closely. What are you using to balance them and do you have a decent meter to monitor voltage
