    Overkill SOC Reset

Thank you, I’ve done this. It’s actually part of why I don’t like these Overkill BMS’s. They randomly change settings on me. When I do this, it does bump the capacity up a tad, but nowhere near 100%.

    Overkill SOC Reset

Hey everyone, I have two BMS from Overkill and I’m not a huge fan. They’re always changing their values on me and such. Last time I was on shore power and had a fully charged system, I reset my Victron Shunt. I’m doing great with my consumption and maintaining a full charge every day, weather...

LiFePo4 Batteries not charging to capacity

Is there some sort of reset I can do for the BMS?

Oh wait, you mean the 280. Maybe 3-4 months ago.

LiFePo4 Batteries not charging to capacity

Just did it when I read your comment. I’ll look at the MPP settings when I get back home.

LiFePo4 Batteries not charging to capacity

Where is the “charge” voltage? I corrected the cell 100% to 3500. When I topped off and balanced, they were at the 280 mark. At least per the BMS.

LiFePo4 Batteries not charging to capacity

System - 24v 560Ah total - MPP Lv2424 - 1620W of panels Hello everyone, I just plugged into shore at 50A and my Overkill BMS is showing that the batteries aren’t charging to the full 280Ah/each. Any idea why this would happen? I also noticed that my Delta is way out of whack compared to what...

    Overkill BMS issues…

There wasn't much to change. A charge under temp and a discharge over temp. Not much to what I'm dealing with. I'll be taking the RV down to Phoenix in the next week or so, then I'll get a nice full charge from shore and see how things look then. I just can't make sense of why the Victron shunt...

    Overkill BMS issues…

Ok, so once I am able to get to a campground and get a full charge, then it'll stop showing up as zero? To be completely honest, I'm not really sure what my parameters are supposed to be on all these settings. I'll see about changing this though.

    Overkill BMS issues…

Hello, I have two BMS’s that are each hooked up to an 8s lithium bank. Total system is 8s2p for a total of 24v and 560Ah setup. I’m having issues when checking on the state of charge that the software keeps showing 0A and 0%. I open up the settings, change the battery size from 280000mAh to...

Transfer switch issues after solar install

Couldn’t sleep, lol! After @time2roll’s comment, I remembered I had shut off the breakers when I was monkeying around with trying to get the battery situation figured out. Sure enough, I had the two 30A breakers off. Everything is working now. Stupid.

Transfer switch issues after solar install

I’ll check the breakers and fuses in the morning. I was stupid and buttoned everything up before checking the generator.

Transfer switch issues after solar install

Hey Everyone, I recently brought my solar online and everything finally seems to work…well, not quite. I’m on my first outing and tried turning on the generator with one of my old lead acid batteries since the lithium couldn’t do it. I got the generator to start, but it’s not triggering the...

    Two 8s Overkills?

I just hooked up the AC Input to the MPP and the low battery is charging. I’ll let it go as long as I can and then shut the batteries off for the week while I’m gone and just let the RV fridge be powered by the AC power. Maybe I just need to get the SOC closer and then they’ll stay together. At...

    Two 8s Overkills?

Because I don’t know what I’m doing. Lol. The one set is for driving the 12v side of the RV. The other set goes to the generator. To be honest, I don’t know why that’s needed other than it was attached to my old battery. I assume it’s to start the generator. Don’t quote me on that though.

Again, the red wire on the negative terminal will be swapped out when the system is functioning as it should.

    Two 8s Overkills?

Oops…hadn’t had my coffee yet. Lol! It’s still a mess as I have yet to clean it all up until I have everything working. Note the red cable from negative bus bar, that’ll be replaced with a black.

    Two 8s Overkills?

Yeah, I was thinking that. I’m still trying to get the shore and generator wired into the system via the transfer switch. Problem is that I’m leaving for Bible camp in a few hours and will be gone a week. ?

    Two 8s Overkills?

No. Both positives go to a bus bar and likewise with the negatives. They are both discharging at the moment. However, yesterday A-H was discharging 14-15v while I-P was charging by the same amount. So I wasn’t sure what the heck was going on.

    Two 8s Overkills?

Hey everyone, Just fired up my system. I have two 24v 280Ah Eve packs built with Overkill 8s BMS’s attached. So my total system has 16 cells (8s2p) for a 24v 560Ah system. I’m running an MPP Hybrid LV2424. My question is this…how do the two packs work together? It seems like one was pulling...

Renogy 2000W Inverter and Xantrex PROwatt Xfer Switch

Hello Everyone, Ran into problems with my Magnum-Dimensions inverter and switch. Just ordered the Renogy 2000w inverter along with a Xantrex auto transfer switch. 40A MPP LV2424 Input vs. 50A RV Grid Rating

I already own the MPP, so I'd prefer to find a solution using what I have. I'm not attempting to run the A/C with the solar. I've understood that I need to be on shore or run the generator if I want A/C. With that being the case, do you think I can accomplish this without the Victron unit?

40A MPP LV2424 Input vs. 50A RV Grid Rating

Hello Everyone, Let me start out by saying I'm a noob, so be gentle. I have my 16 LIFEPo4 all top balanced and ready to finally get my system installed. Here are the particulars: Solar Panels will be 2s2p @ 1640W / 84V / 19.3A Battery will be 8s2p @ 24V / 560Ah Overkill 8s 100A BMS x 2 MPP...

Top Balancing...Do I need to go to 3.650V?

Good to know. I thought I remembered hearing that for RV usage, you didn't want to go that high. However, I don't recall at all where I read that on here or who said it.
  35. LivingTheDream

Top Balancing...Do I need to go to 3.650V?

No, I'll be hooking them up to 1620w of solar on the RV. From what I can see, I'll need to set the parameters on the charge controller to keep them between 20-90%. At least that's what I think I remember reading.
