MPP Solar LV5048 PV1 and PV2 different Voltages Okay?

Another question any reason I should not over panel the second Input? It'll just pull as much as it can right?

MPP Solar LV5048 PV1 and PV2 different Voltages Okay?

Hi, I want to setup my PV2 but it will be at a different voltage form PV1, they are two different solar panel arrays with different panels and voltages is that fine? I think it is just wondering. Thanks!

Where is a good place to get a 6048?

MPP LV5048 sticking or slight hanging transfer switch

Update to this. I am having this happen more and more often. It is only affecting half my inverter. So just one leg looses power. Half of everything stays on while the other half looses power for long enough to turn everything off. Any thoughts?

Best Options to Replace a LV5048, 2S5P solar setup

Sorry for the massive delay. I have Jinkos 400watt panels, about 40V and 10amps, in a 2S5P configuration. It would not be much of an issue but I have to go rewire everything on my roof but then I deal with shading on 6 of my panels during the worst months of winter. It likely would be best to...

Best Options to Replace a LV5048, 2S5P solar setup

Hi, So my issue is I have and need a lower 2S solar setup, so peak is maybe 90V, often closer to 80V. So my main issue is keeping this as I have shading and need this kind of setup. Thoughts ideas...thanks. I know I can just get a solar charge controller but ideally it is all in one.

MPP LV5048 Upgrade options or ideas? Solar voltage...

Hi, I am currently running a MPP LV5048 and I have 4,000 watts of solar going into PV input 1. I find that I often peak over the 5,000 watts for the inverter forcing it to switch back to grid and I am starting to consider upgrading it. My issue is that all of these newer units that are out...

Is AC coupled even worth it?

If some then a system should be designed to focus on DC if there is any advantage like this. Others had questions about losses so here is the problem. DC to DC conversion which what a mppt charge controller is really doing has extremely low losses, maybe 2% at most. DC to DC is very efficient...

Is AC coupled even worth it?

Currently my area supports hourly rate power. It's never a benefit for me to push power to the grid in these situations. I almost always charge my house batteries at night some even if I don't need it because often the power is either very cheap so why not, or its even free or negative...

Is AC coupled even worth it?

I've debated this with many people. The short answer actually is no AC coupled is fairly dumb. Consider these many factors. 1.) Solar Panels are DC by default.... 2.) Batteries are DC by default.... 3.) If you want MOST things actually are DC not AC(not that most of us would be you could run...

MPP LV5048 sticking or slight hanging transfer switch

I don't think that is the issue honestly, I'm going to have to look into it more or just live with it for now. I can always upgrade if it really becomes annoying. Thank guys for the advice.

MPP LV5048 sticking or slight hanging transfer switch

Hi, I am starting to notice after nearly 3 years of use that sometimes, when my LV5048 switches to grid power via its internal transfer switch that it sometimes either hangs little or completely disconnects power for an extended period causing full power lose to all things connected to it. Has...

    EVs and MPPTs

I've tested tons of MPPTs using a bench power supply so I doubt it would work any different. Current protection you would simply put a standard Solar fuse inline I would think. Getting access to the power making the pins hot is a issue but assuming that worked, I would think a MPPT would be a...

    EVs and MPPTs

I have an idea that in theory a DC based house battery could easily be assisted when needed from a EV with a simple MPPT charge controller. Most EVs run a battery voltage that is less than 500V, so my theory is there would be no reason you could not connect a 500V Mppt charge controller to the...

Major problem with EcoFlow products, Voltage spikes!

This just got posted to youtube but I figured I would put it here for now. It needs to be tested more I think but it does feel like a major concern of spiking voltage with high amp loads. It should be addressed or conversed about. Here is the video link:

Daly BMS 16S balance leads connectors.

Like this will be added to the app? So you can tell it to turn on and stay on even when not charging?
  19. D

Daly BMS 16S balance leads connectors.

It keeps an okay balance but I'm trying to fully top balance which that kind of connector would help hugely vs having to do a weird kind of solution. The balance current of the Daly is not very effective and it is rare for me to full charge the battery.

Daly BMS 16S balance leads connectors.

Hey I'm not sure how to find this part but I am trying to get the BMS board side connector for the Daly BMS 16S. So what I am trying to do is setup a easy way to connect my active balance from time to time to my batteries. Right now it is a huge pain and I want to be able to get the plug that...

    Reverse feeding a inverter?

Hey! So I watched your video, great work by the way. I'm trying to understand does it mater? Do all inverters work this way? Also if the batteries have a BMS it would stop the charging from hurting the batteries but would bad stuff happen with the grid tided inverters?

    Reverse feeding a inverter?

I just came across this video. Does this actually work?

    Lv5048

Float 54.3V However keep in mind none of this will mater depending on your system as you need more control over the battery than just leaving it SBU, it will switch back to off grid as soon as it hits that voltage so 54 is too low and 55 is to high you really need a solution like icc solar and...

    Lv5048

So from my testing, going under 50V on a 16S Lifepo4 system is kind of pointless except in emergency situations. Going above 54.4V is also fairly pointless. 54.4 is fully charged, I would set the top to 54.2 or 54.3V. As for the cut off for the inverter the turn off inverter setting I would...

Battery Hookup 48V system balancing after the fact...

My packs are kind of built and more or less not meant to be taken apart without a massive amount of work. I could in theory do that but the amount of work involved would be profound. If these where the other cells not the battery hookup cells it would be largely easy. My goal was to use the...

Battery Hookup 48V system balancing after the fact...

Fair which is what I kind of expected, the behavior can kind of jump around and its hard to tell if there is a problem or not. So I guess I should just assume if I can get >100% rated capacity things are pretty good.
  27. D

    Lv5048

Kind of sorta, one cell can run away and that would stop charging. So normally you want to target around 54.4V From what I can tell 3.35V fully saturated is as good as it gets, charging higher will get the voltage higher but I've not personally found any meaningful extra capacity.

Battery Hookup 48V system balancing after the fact...

Hey Everyone, I figured I would post this question about my battery system. I have 4 complete 16S 100amp hour batteries built using Battery Hookup Modules. I but them together added a BMS and started using them...well I did not balance anything and they did not come balanced. So after a...

    Lv5048

Here are my settings for my LV5048 and it has no issues. Keep in mind it will start slowing down at around 60% capacity the charging rate. Let me know if you have any questions. I'm still finishing the balance on one of my packs and I will be changing the Max AC back to 60 amps and Back to...

I have a LV5048. I also use Lifepo4 with customer built packs. What batteries are you using or and or BMS or system? I agree it sounds like a BMS setting but I don't know enough.

    Updated Battery setup.

HA! Thats fun, I was using 3 full modules in two 14S of Bolt Batteries. I actually own a Bolt EV that is being repurchased by Chevy. After the recall I reached out the BH and asked what they could do to help me considering the batteries are in my house, they accepted their return due to the...

    Updated Battery setup.

Yes I did not mess with a top balance honestly. I likely should have but my situation was slightly rushed. I could in theory go back and easily fix that problem, but I am trying with a balancer first to see if it can fix that for me. Thank you so much for the feedback I will try to update...
