    16kw DC Solar with Sol-ark 15k

I should have clarified that it won't export more than 15kW without additional AC coupled sources

High Frequency vs. Low Frequency Inverter - Does it matter??

He purposely overloads one leg beyond what the spec sheet says is the max. Try that same test on an EG4 18kPV or a sol-ark 15k. Both of them will be able to start TWO of those compressors simultaneously and the latter would be able to do it while also running a large central heat pump (while...

High Frequency vs. Low Frequency Inverter - Does it matter??

There's too bad considering that this video gets called out all the time for being completely misleading

Seems MPP dropped a new inverter...a split phase 10KW

I still don't understand why the WP units have essentially no surge ability. You'd think they could handle the 2x for 5-10 seconds or whatever that the older units did.

    SolArk15k vs Eg4 18k

I think he was talking about the 15k. If so the numbers would be a bit higher for these scenarios (i.e a full 15kW (minus AC load) continuous can be exported).

New EVE Cell at RE+ 2023: LF 560K (628Ah Cell)

I've seen a few pull through chargers but they are still in the vast minority. Hopefully they start putting in more now that the CT is out.

Midnite Solar Announced their new 10kw AIO at Intersolar Today

I wouldn't be surprised if it throttles down when charging from a generator based on the incoming voltage/frequency. I've never seen behavior like that when charging from solar or the grid though.

New EVE Cell at RE+ 2023: LF 560K (628Ah Cell)

Who's gonna convince seplos to create a 16S kit for these? It should be about the same size as my first car.

Midnite Solar Announced their new 10kw AIO at Intersolar Today

It's a simplified spec sheet because the output is dependent on the battery voltage. At 54V it'll output ~14kW battery only from the inverter. At 52V it's down to around 13.5kW. At the typical LVP of 48V it's down to about 12.5kW.

Midnite Solar Announced their new 10kw AIO at Intersolar Today

I have never heard of anyone having problems with charging throttling (I have never seen it with mine). What are his ambient temps?

    Post your Ground Mount Setup

Ah, still bad but not quite THAT bad.

    Post your Ground Mount Setup

That's crazy. In the US we can get grade A for like $100/cell now plus $10-15/cell shipping.

    Minor Backfeed Issue with Utility

Ah I thought you were taking about hybrids. My old LVX6048 behaved like you are describing. I'm not 100% sure what it would do if you overloaded it while grid was available though.

    Minor Backfeed Issue with Utility

With the hybrid inverters I'm familiar with, it is always connected to the grid (unless the grid is down or outside the allowable parameters) so it doesn't need to do anything special if there's a large load.

    Minor Backfeed Issue with Utility

With that usage you're probably gonna want 2 18kPVs or similar if you're fully offgrid

Midnite Solar Announced their new 10kw AIO at Intersolar Today

The 12k should be ditched or replaced with a new model. At one point they had a "limitless 9k" planned that I think was gonna replace it but I haven't seen that mentioned in a long time. I'm glad to see more options popping up.

    Minor Backfeed Issue with Utility

Mine did the same but I had my system running for about 18 months before they finally drove out to my property. It probably took them so long because they thought it was a faulty meter and not a solar system.

Midnite Solar Announced their new 10kw AIO at Intersolar Today

I'd be in for a second sol-ark at $6k. It might not be the unlikely actually with the recent solar slowdown.

Midnite Solar Announced their new 10kw AIO at Intersolar Today

Yes off grid. I got one of the first units and have tested mine extensively.

Midnite Solar Announced their new 10kw AIO at Intersolar Today

It's more like two 7.8kw inverters limited to 15kW total. I havent heard of a single complaint about it starting loads. All the ones I can think of were with the earlier models (5k-12k).

Midnite Solar Announced their new 10kw AIO at Intersolar Today

I'm hoping that this comes out under $4k so sol-ark does another price drop lol. Is the maximum current per MPPT listed somewhere?

Midnite Solar Announced their new 10kw AIO at Intersolar Today

Hopefully they get the software side right. 2 of these would be a badass system for a typical 200A service home.

Midnite Solar Announced their new 10kw AIO at Intersolar Today

It's 240V but I tested the sol-ark up to around 28kW (over 14kW on the higher leg) when I first got it. It passed my ~28kW test and failed ~32kW.

For long enough to start a large central heat pump

Yes on batteries. I tested it at night.

Midnite Solar Announced their new 10kw AIO at Intersolar Today

The 15k can do at least a 15kVA surge on a single leg
  27. N

    SolArk15k vs Eg4 18k

That is incorrect. The entire 18kW of PV input is usable (i.e. 14kW can go to the inverter while the other 4kW goes into the batteries).
  28. N

    16kw DC Solar with Sol-ark 15k

I think it might do that when it's output limited
  29. N

    16kw DC Solar with Sol-ark 15k

It can't export anything over 15kW to the grid
  30. N

    16kw DC Solar with Sol-ark 15k

The limit on DC PV input power is ~17.9kW so if the batteries aren't full then it could go higher than what you're getting in the screenshot.

DIY season adjustable ground mount build

I moved my sol-ark install to the adjacent wall (partly to have room to add a second 15k and partly to correct a code violation). I also had to add a new exterior disconnect and replace the existing service conductors to satisfy the POCO and inspector for my net metering application.

Off grid but still receive a utility bill

This is why I was hesitant to get net metering at all. Thankfully they don't seem to be pushing for a system size based monthly fee (yet).

    18650batterystore Eve LF280K grade A test results

None of the ones I tested were that low. What tester did you use?

    SolArk15k vs Eg4 18k

Sol-ark is better currently. Hopefully any lingering issues with the 18kPV can be fixed in future updates.
