Seems MPP dropped a new inverter...a split phase 10KW

Just to be clear here, I'm not saying anyone NEEDS it. The inverters run perfectly fine without it as you and several others are saying. I'm an IT geek and want to see and log statistics in addition to remote control abilities. There are several reasons I want it but again, none of them are...

Seems MPP dropped a new inverter...a split phase 10KW

Yes, they still work. Just because you don't need communications doesn't mean others don't. Having communications was a factor in my decision to purchase them, so you can see why I'm disappointed that it didn't work out as it should have. Again, just because you don't need something doesn't...

Seems MPP dropped a new inverter...a split phase 10KW

It seems to be a lack of proper engineering in my opinion. They are looking at a particular feature and doing whatever they can to implement said feature as quickly and cheaply as possible. The original LV6548 is rock-solid and if it had been thought through a little better from the start, they...

Seems MPP dropped a new inverter...a split phase 10KW

That's some kind of a joke, right??? I wasted over $4000 and a year-worth of my very limited time trying to get things working/built that were advertised from the start and now have to rip it all out and pretty much start over because the inverters I bought less than 2 years ago have already...

    VATRER 12V 460Ah LiFePO4

See that's the thing though, mine kindof look like your docan picture. I can't get the glue off. I tried soaking it in IPA and it didn't really loosen up at all. I gave up, but I did get the cells pulled out and they look very nice. They're flat (no bulging) and all have test stickers from Oct...

New 6000XP working great, except for dongle communications. The blinking led is driving me crazy.

Just to follow up regarding my post above, Current Connected told me that you do NOT need to separate 2.4GHz and 5GHz. I did some further troubleshooting and found that it will not connect if you have certain special characters in your wireless password. When I removed the special characters, I...

    Positive Youtube reviews

I once tried a 12A vacuum cleaner on the 48V 1500W model and it instantly blue the DC fuses. Popped in new fuses and it was good to go. I'd say the answer to your question is "not very well" but I don't think the inverter is the limiting factor. Lol.

    VATRER 12V 460Ah LiFePO4

I pulled off two of the black covers and here's what's underneath. Something still looks a bit off but I'm not sure enough of what's going on that I am comfortable making a video discussing. I don't believe they were sanded, but for some reason it seems the glue was removed around the code and...

Issues with EG4 Chargeverter Shipping (Current Connected)

I have one that I ordered nearly 6 months ago and haven't unboxed yet. What should we start the bidding at??? 😄

    VATRER 12V 460Ah LiFePO4

There appears to be something fishy going on here for sure. I will follow up later this week. In the meantime, I reached out to them to see what they have to say on the matter.

    VATRER 12V 460Ah LiFePO4

That is very concerning if they're going that far to be deceptive. The cells I have seen that have scratched QR codes usually look like someone used course sandpaper on them whereas these are very, very fine. I don't think they are sanding marks but obviously can't guarantee that. They could be...

New 6000XP working great, except for dongle communications. The blinking led is driving me crazy.

I am having trouble getting my EG4 6000XP connected to my home wireless, exactly as described in the first post. Has anyone been able to connect to a network that's running both 2.4GHz / 5GHz on the same SSID? Additionally, I have multiple APs in a cluster and the app is showing the same SSID...

    Positive Youtube reviews

I just want to point out here that reviewing a product that was given free requires the "paid promotions" box to be checked on Youtube. A lot of people think this means the person was paid to promote the product. I suppose you could make the argument that accepting a free battery is "payment"...

EMT Conduit Parts for a Raintight System?

The blue fittings are rain-tight. They have to be listed for wet locations (rain-tight). The regular compression fittings won't pass inspection. Halex has a very nice lineup of them, example https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GRBJTM6/

    chargeverter

No. Putting two 24V batteries in parallel would still give you 24V. You would need to wire them in series to get 48V, but I would suggest buying either a 24V charger or a 48V battery instead of wiring two 24V in series.

    Signature solar

That's because most (not all) of these companies are not manufacturing their own BMS for these batteries (or any parts for that matter). The rack batteries are commonly using the Pace-brand BMS. So the software company A provides will likely work on company B as well, as long as they did not...

    chargeverter

The EG4 Chargeverter is a 48V charger. You have a 24V battery, so that would be a "no".

    Signature solar

He is asking if Current Connected and Signature Solar are related or "connected". No, they are not - they are totally separate companies. I think the question and response were perfectly clear. Yes, Current Connected sells EG4 products. They also sell Victron, MPP Solar, Samlex, and many other...

    Signature solar

I'm having a hard time understanding what's going on as well. In order for there to be an arc, especially one of 4in, there has to be a pretty big potential difference between two points (not 48V). From what I gather, the battery was sitting unconnected and someone simply touched a screw to the...

    Litime Lifepo4 12V 230Ah Plus voltage problem

All batteries are going to work this way. Your charge controller should be programmed to a reasonable voltage that is near full-charge but does not trip the over-voltage protection. In the case of a brand new battery, it may not be perfectly balanced and you just need to cycle it several times...

    Litime Lifepo4 12V 230Ah Plus voltage problem

The issue with most chargers and MPPT controllers is that they need to detect voltage to begin charging. If your battery is off due to a protection fault, the charger won't be able to turn on. If you have a bench power supply, you can probably "jump" it to both wake the battery and get the...

Fuses for Balance Wires? Yes or No?

I feel my new design is adequate enough to protect against accidental physical damage. I got tired of having to solder my own leads on the little stub terminals because they come pre-terminated with 6in wires. Once re-terminating them, no matter how careful you are, they're difficult to twist...

    How can Current Connected improve?

This route protection thing needs to be defaulted "off" in my opinion. I didn't realize it was optional until I got to the final checkout screen and I think most people make their decision to buy based on looking at the cart price where it calculates shipping, tax, etc. The route thing is making...

Fuses for Balance Wires? Yes or No?

Per a discussion with Batrium a while back, the fuses are mostly intended to prevent shorts caused by damage to bundles of cabling. This could be physical damage or melting (think heat that melts through a bundle and epic-shorts them all). The longmons don't have fuses but the wires are short...

    Discount codes for signature solar?

There are new $50 off $500+ codes floating around, though I think they're tied to affiliates so I don't think we're permitted to share them here. You should be able to find one by looking around ;)

Seems MPP dropped a new inverter...a split phase 10KW

No, I have not tried to connect the two. MPP Solar has stated that they're not compatible. Also, you cannot load the v69 firmware that the new units have to the older units with the v45 firmware. Don't ask how I know.........

    Signature solar warranty department issues

Have they always been two separate companies or is that a recent change? I was never quite sure what the relationship was there (seemed like they were the same) and never really asked - but I also noticed EG4 items started popping up on other stores now.
