That one is a JBD BMS someone is repackaging and selling at a higher price. Kinda like what Overkill does. It is also a JBD BMS.

LOL...exact same settings. All are perfectly balanced. Some times one battery will be 10% different than the other and then the other battery will be that much higher so it's not even consistently one battery that is higher. I basically ignore them. I use the Victron BMV-712 to figure out SOC.

It knows 100%...that's it. It has no idea what it is less than that accurately. In the settings, it it requires to to put in cell voltages for various voltages for various SOC percentages. It is doing a crude approximation based on voltage and current somehow which is no way accurate.

Wrong...it does it based on voltages. The BMS has no idea what SOC is.

The only reason to do 48V is if you are going to have huge current draws, a very large battery bank and have a dedicated 48V alternator to charge it. You will never have enough solar on a van to charge a large battery bank and why have a large battery bank if you can't charge it up fast. Check...

I have two batteries in parallel and the JBD BMS shows vastly different SOC for each battery at times. I basically ignore them and use my Victron BMV.

I got rid of my trailer's standard converter and bought a Victron 50A IP43 Phoenix charger. What is nice about it is that it has a power supply mode. I can run my trailer indefinitely at 13.2V which is around 60% SOC if I want to when I am on shore power.

For someone who does very small drives with an occasional long one, think about getting a PEHV. Our Hyundai Santa Fe gets 30 miles on a charge. The Toyota RAV4 gets 40.

That's possible. I always wondered about the 80%, 60%, 40% settings and what they were used for. I saw this weird phenomena months ago when I built the batteries. It pretty much doesn't concern me since I rely on the BMV-712.

I have two batteries with a JBD BMS in parallel. Currently, My Victron BMV-71 says 80%...one of the JBD BMS says 81% and the other says 60%. Needless to say, I don't trust the JBD ones. BMS reports 13.3V, BMV-712 reports 13.27V
