    Volatage drop

Yes great idea. I can even use my thermal imager for this. Also agree, cables will need to change. I was thinking of pulling out the existing and going for 73mm2 welding cable but, as suggested above, it will be easier to run another of the same 53mm2 cables.

Awesome, will definitely test breaker. Cheers

    Volatage drop

Yes, I have the inverter connected as per image on the right.

    Volatage drop

Yes have a 200amp circuit breaker very close to the batteries

    Volatage drop

Thank you so much for the detail. Most of it is over my head. However based on me not running a reverse charge through the BP, do you seen an issue with the inverter connected on the in/battery side of the BP? thanks again. rob

    Volatage drop

Yeah definitely just a pure sign wave inverter. I’m going to bypass it to test the system now regardless. Thanks

    Volatage drop

Hmmm, they, as in the retailer here said no issue as long as connected to the battery in side it wouldn’t affect it. But. Now that you say that I scan easily disconnect from the BP and test. Cheers.

    Volatage drop

Correct, inverter connected straight to battery side of the BP.

    Volatage drop

Ok, I can definitely try that. Does this change at all if the max I will use from the inverter is 2200w?

    Volatage drop

Itech world 3000w company here in Australia, likely Chinese made though. They do get pretty good reviews here.

    Volatage drop

Hmm I think it may not have much to do with the cable set up then

    Volatage drop

Is there a way to test the inverter to see if it is the problem?

    Volatage drop

Thanks to you and Matt, are you saying that a 3kva inverter will draw 275A? If so I am definitely well below At 200A system supply. Getting nice big gauge lugs to suit the wire was also an issue at the time so I will look at up grading them also. Would I be better swapping to the 70mm2 cable...

    Volatage drop

Hi gurus, I have a twin 130AH lithium set up in my car. So 260AH. The batteries are for start up and auxiliary components. The BMS automatically cuts power use to ensure the car is always able to be started. Anyway….I’m running 53mm2 cable 6m from front to rear. Same cable pos and neg, Victron...

    Voltage drop

I’m running 1/0 AWG cable in my system, I am getting voltage drop at my inverter. obviously need to up the cable size to AWG 2/0. This cable is not available where I am for me to change out the cable. So my question is if I was to run a second smaller cable, 8AWG (which I can get and run fairly...

My first endurance test of my system

Hi, I have two similar Australian 100Ah lithium batteries wired in parallel, each battery has its own bms, and Bluetooth connectivity. Volts are within 0 and .02 of a volt difference, however when running inverter for chargers, as well as 12v ancillaries, the states of charge differ greatly. Ie...

Best parameters for charging Lithium battery

Hi fellow solar enthusiasts, I have an Epever MPPT 20AMP solar charger. It allows my to custom set certain parameters. The items I can set / change are in the attachments. What would be best to get full 100 % capacity of the battery? It’s a 12v 100AH if that changes things. 1st picture is of...

Swollen 100AH deep cycle AGM, help.

Not likely to get 0degrees where I live. The hot one is an issue though

Swollen 100AH deep cycle AGM, help.

perfect, I will work on a switch for the dcdc charger so it only uses it when parked in the shed or sun is hiding. A lithium will handle all of the 50Amp, providing chargers are set to lithium?

Swollen 100AH deep cycle AGM, help.

Thank you. I’m new to some of this, so much appreciated. I was wondering that however one of Wills videos discussed how the two types of chargers don’t both charge a once, saying that the MPPT should know if the battery is being charged off the other charger and reduce accordingly? but I could...

Ok, thank you. Now I’ll want to go Lithium... under bonnet.??‍♂️

Swollen 100AH deep cycle AGM, help.

Tanks, Will/ can it explode / pop? The charger adjusts charge rate up and down as required, I haven’t changed any parameters.

Swollen 100AH deep cycle AGM, help.

Hello again, I have an auxiliary 100AH deep cycle AGM under the bonnet of my 4x4. It charges from a 25Amp dcdc charger, off of the start battery which is charged via the cars alternator. I also have a 275w solar panel on roof of car feeding into a 20Amp Epever MPPT solar charger, charging the...

    Lithium

Hi all. love this site and the reading and learning that comes with it. Here in Australia there is a fair bit of who haa about the true longevity of lithium batteries and huge debate on weather the lithium batteries are suitable for under bonnet applications. Many people saying no, yet a couple...

    MPPT off road set up?

Re removing panels I will have a 50amp Anderson connection at the panel connection, will this suffice? panel is 36v.

    MPPT off road set up?

Correct, I haven’t drawn in the - on a few of them, trying to keep it neat. Im assuming the 0 gauge Cables work both ways? As in, power from battery front to back and solar charging from victron in the rear of car charging to the battery?

    MPPT off road set up?

After some thinking about the info you have provided, and checking availability and cost of wire. I can run 00AWG from battery to a rear buss bar, manual rear 150amp breaker. Then mount victron 100/30 in rear of car, then connect victron, inverter and fuse block to the buss bar, each with its...

    MPPT off road set up?

Hi, 1st post. Love the YouTube videos. Will is an absolute legend. I do a fair bit of of road camping out of my 4X4. Im adding a roof top tent and upgrading the current solar set up. Need a little guidance. Here Goes: current set up: 60watt panel on roof feeding to a basic solar regulator...

Couldn't help myself but come on the form big fan of will prowse I cannot believe what just happened with the batteries he was opening up

Yes that video has made me very skeptical of going Lithium for my 4x4 and my van. We don’t get the same Batteries in Australia that will tests. But I’m sure outcomes would be very similar.
