    Daly BMS Balancing

My Daly Smart 250 AH BMS has never been able to balance when charging to less than 0.1V regardless of the upper voltage limit. I never let mine get above 3.55V per cell anymore as it does not help long term health of the cells. Not sure why you do not want to add an active balancer as if you...

    Daly BMS Balancing

Add a Helac active balancer for about $20 and your pack will balance without charging. A BMS is not good at balancing but does a great job of protecting the cells. My pack now is at less that 0.006 V difference whereas before the Helac AB it was off 0.2V

Daly Smart BMS 250A 4s Never powers up

Once I installed the pack into the camper, at every check the Bluetooth is connected. Not once since I had to wake it, seems it is always awake now. And my hightec active balancer keeps the pack at less than 0.01V balance. Happy with the pack.

    Daly BMS Balancing

Installed a Helco active 4s 12V balancer today the pack moved from a 0.12 to a 0.006 differential in hours. Very happy with this $30 balancer.

    100amp LiFePO4 12v battery for 1000w microwave?

The 7 pin connector has too much voltage drop to effectively charge a battery. It can run a 12V refrigerator at 12V. but 12V is not enough to charge any battery. So during towing, Solar is your best bet.

    100amp LiFePO4 12v battery for 1000w microwave?

I put a lighted lamp switch on the converter 110V inlet. While I could flip the breaker, then there would be no indication the converter was off. The light switch is bright when the circuit is off and dark when the circuit is on. So now instead of flipping the breaker back and forth, I just flip...

    100amp LiFePO4 12v battery for 1000w microwave?

Also a neophyte but recall that a LiFePO4 has a BMS to limit discharge current and a LA does not. My bet is the continuous current is over the 100 amps. My Convection Oven draws 130 amps continuous on high power. About the same as my microwave. But we do not use the microwave much. Our house...

    Daly BMS Balancing

As a neophyte I do not know why my Daly Smart BMS which promised to balance will not let me change the 0.26V differential setting. My cells have two equal and one 0.05 higher and one 0.05 volt lower so my pack faults out before a full charge occurs. This is the job of the BMS but since I cannot...

    Daly BMS Balancing

An active balancer will do that.

    Daly BMS Balancing

Is it a Daly Smart unit with bluetooth. If so the parameter tab let's you customize charge and discharge current separately. Could be the default values is not what you are suspecting but then again I am a neophyte regarding BMS.

    Daly BMS Balancing

Perhaps related, I have a Daly Smart 4s 250 AH BMS with bluetooth. It works fine under load, but does not let me change the balance voltage in the app. The default value is 0.26 V and I would like to drop that value down to 0.15 V or so. The other values are adjustable and it is not a password...

New LiFePO4 Set up for my Camper

My monitor is the AiLi Voltmeter Ammeter Voltage Current Meter Voltmeter Ammeter 100V 350A Seems to be doing okay but limited experience with the new battery. Will look at both 40 and 50 Amp solar controllers. Is there one brand that is superior for the mobile user? I do need to do a trial...

New LiFePO4 Set up for my Camper

I do have a nice battery monitor. You are correct that they are essential as voltage alone is meaningless. My current solar controller is a GoPower 30A PWM. Think that is not the best and appreciate your 50A recommendation as my experience is limited and buying the correct upgrade is important...

New LiFePO4 Set up for my Camper

Received 4 CATL 271 3.2 cells from @Michael B Caro last month and finally have some success to post. Per help on the forum, I also purchased a Smart Daly 4s 250 amp BMS and a Progressive Dynamics 45 amp LiFePO4 charger. Still awaiting a wake up button from a link on this site, but other than...

Daly Smart BMS 250A 4s Never powers up

Carlrx7 was correct. Hooked up a charger and the BMS turned on and bluetooth functioned. My bad as without a charger or load connected, the BMS stays in sleep mode. A multimeter alone with not wake it from sleep. Actually a wise function.

Daly Smart BMS 250A 4s Never powers up

The Daly guy also says I need to discharge a bit and then charge the pack as Carlrx7 said. Out of town now but will try this next week. Thank you for the advice.

Daly Smart BMS 250A 4s Never powers up

Received a new BMS from Daly on eBay. Top balanced the cells to 3.65V then assembled to get 14.6V (has dropped to 14.0 since then). So no cell issues. Connected the cell sense harness and checked continuity and individual pin voltage step was correct. Then plugged in the harness to the BMS...

    Lead acid to Lifepo4

New to the Forum but looking to do a battery like Will built but with a 200 Amp BMS. I did PM Mike Carro to see if he still has a solid LiFePO4 source for 272 to 310 AH 3.2V cells. My usage is an RV current with two roof top 100 W panels and plan to add 200 W portable as well.
