Yeah, that's overkill... will just get the AiLi or Renogy. Renogy advantage is "name brand" and 500a and can get to me before my trip tomorrow. :p

I'm looking to add a shunt that I can know the actual capacity of my batteries. My BMS (jbd) always resets to 120ah if I don't connect to bluetooth 100% for >24hrs. I know the JBD isn't reliable, so everytime I get in my van, the SOC is a crapshoot. I don't use the batterybut about 130hrs/mon so...

As title states, I currently have a 40amp breaker (tube style Anoshi brand) and it is now breaking instantly. I read elsewhere these style are crap. I'm looking at the square kind, but there are many brands. The one I have also comes in square, but want to ensure I'm buying a good breaker style...

I'm also debating getting shorter bolts as that's where the "resting" comes into play, but good to know and will definitely avoid then! Especially since this is in a van and rattling while resting on terminals...eek

My battery is now installed in my van, but I want to add a layer of protection between the terminals and my lid and anything shorting the sides. I was thinking of getting 1/8" plexi and heat bending it as a "hat" over my cell pack and screwed to the wood compression slats. My three questions...

Having just read fhorst's fire, it's got me thinking...I put the cutting boards in and tightened my 4 corner nuts to decent tightness, not too extreme, but since these cells bulge in the middle, there will always be gaps at the corners.. Might allow me to re wire/fix my BMS also as I can ground...

And I presume this foam is electricly inhibitive in the event of abrasion? I have 4 (Blue film style) cells with plastic cutting boards between all cells, ends, top and bottom to prevent abrasion (in vehicle) to try and make shorting impossible if film wears. Wonder if I can take this foam...

Here it is. I'm thinking it might also be xiaoxiang v3.1.1026. This version also doesn't have the lock symbol anymore, so if you have a protection lock you have to install down to 3.1.1015 in order to get the lock symbol...

Got mine from lithiumbatterypcb.com and so far it's ok. It's a JBD configured by them, but mine cost $60 shipped. 120a 4s with bluetooth. Has 3 leads off both sides, soldered. Overkill has the ability for terminals vs soldered.

Your router has a wifi radio, therefore it can couple them. These BMS don't have wifi, only Bluetooth when added. :)

Nope. Bluetooth isn't connected to Wi-Fi so this data stays local. They'd need to hack into your phone and then get to the appdata. That would be a massive hack/breach attempt.

Definitely some "nope... never doing it that way again" moments. Haha! I had to build the battery in the tight space, and should have mounted the BMS upside down so I can connect the balance leads easier. Gotta get attention to the lid asap

Finally got my battery, renogy and fuse panel all setup. HUGE thanks to Gazoo, Just John, smoothjoey and others for shepherding me along and answering my dumb questions! 120ah wedged under my driver's seat. Had one spark when attaching my ground but that's because I forgot to turn off my BMS...

My absolute FAVORITE thing about 1026 is the dashboard. You get all your cell balls there on the homepage. Also, easy toggle of discharge and charge (not sure how 1015 does it). I WISH the charging history stayed in the phone so I didn't lose my first charge graph. :(

Will has 1015 on his site, but when I download it doesn't have the install apk and just extracts as a folder. You have to rename the file without the .zip Installed and got the glorious unlock button!!! YAY! Also, love to see that the temperature setting stays to 2°C when I downgraded to the 1015.

Many thanks! Was curious if this 1026 was the problem of not showing the darn lock button. Will log in, tap the "Xiaoxiang BMS" icon in the menu and check "unlink" then uninstall. I will see if the lithiumbatterypcb version is not 1026 as well. Will report back...just woke up
