Is Growatt safe enough to mount in the home?

Hey anadiner, do you have any pictures of your fan setup and any links to parts? I need to do this with the shed I am putting my equipment in.

Is Growatt safe enough to mount in the home?

I think my only smart move is to put the system in an insulated shed away from the house. The ambient air temp here never exceeds the mid 90's at worst and we have only had frost here twice in the last twenty years. If I can figure out the right vent fan system I think it will be good to go to...

That's awesome!! How loud are the fans when they run hard?

Is Growatt safe enough to mount in the home?

I think the difference is that I dont have a garage at all. The house had a covered carport that was added to and converted to a room by a previous owner. The setup would be in the actual living space of the house (my office), the smoke alone would be a disaster if something happened. If you...

Is Growatt safe enough to mount in the home?

I have read on this forum that IF there were to be a fire traced back to the battery/Growatt setup that the home insurance would not pay off due to the lack of a UL certification ( https://diysolarforum.com/threads/home-insurance-non-ul-approved-equipment.29445/ ) I agree it SHOULD all be safe...

Is Growatt safe enough to mount in the home?

Yes, I have my batteries in a cabinet as well. Do you have any thoughts on home insurance if there was to be a fire caused by the batteries or Growatt?

Is Growatt safe enough to mount in the home?

Is your garage attached to the house or is it a separate building? I am in the same quandary as I am in Florida. Inside the house puts it in a controlled environment as to temp and humidity. I have the same EG44 48V batteries and a Growatt all in one. Any pics of setup or links to pieces parts...

    Hi from SW Florida

Hi from south/central east Florida. That's what led me here, hurricanes Francis and Gene taught me that trying to chase down fuel to run a generator when the power is out for weeks is a fools errand and certaily not one for an old guy like me. Solar is survival!

Grundfos SQ pumps should be stickied to the top of this catagory.

I am in Florida and have a shallow well, we have an old fashioned hand pump to use in emergencies and it only takes a few pumps to draw water. The pump is 120v and is above ground. Can anyone suggest a soft start, energy efficient above ground shallow well pump motor?

    Growatt installation orientation

Thank you for the reply's! My issue is that I dont really have a wall space area that I can mount it to. I have the G4LL batteries in the rolling cabinet and have the in and out cables designed to allow me to move the battery stack and Growatt unit within the room in/on the rolling cabinet. I...

Very nice!! Could you post some pic's from underneath showing the actual connection from the uni strut to the panels?

    Growatt installation orientation

I have a Growatt all in one unit and my question is, does the installation orientation matter? As there are no moving parts other than the fan, is there a reason that I couldn't install it horizontally, having it lay on its back with brackets on the sides to elevate it off of the surface to...

Affects of heat on LiFePO4 batteries

I lived in the desert for many years, every time I open my electric bill in the summer I really miss my swamp cooler!

Affects of heat on LiFePO4 batteries

It seems most folks here worry about cold temp's affects on their batteries but I am in south east Florida so my concern is the affect of heat. I would like to create a space outside of the main house for my power system so I am curious how others in this type of climate have dealt with this issue?

keeping lithium batteries is small refrigerator

I have been contemplating this same type of setup for my place here in Florida. Have been thinking about using a shed from one of the big box stores and shoot the inside with foam, ducked to what we call our safe room which has a stand alone mini split AC. What type fan are you using?

    Which watt meter?

Thanks for the reply. Do you know off hand if it records and holds the surge measurement and run measurement? I am alone and its hard to make some things cycle on while I watch a clamp meter. It would be great to find a Kill-A-Watt type of devise that would do this for a regular appliance like a...

I have a Kill-0-Watt meter but is there one that records both the start and run wattage's for an appliance?

That's gonna make a sweet setup when your done!! I ordered one of the cabinets from Signature Solar which will be great but I like that one better!

Bi-Facials, installation height matters just as much as the angle of the dangle

I agree! Here in Florida FP&L is tearing out entire citrus groves and covering them with solar fields wasting some of the best farm land in the country. One of their people I was working with told me they really don't care about solar, the Fed's forced them to do it before they would allow them...

Gyll batteries communicating on 1 port - fixed

I went with Signature Solar since they had the batteries I wanted, the G4LL 48V X 100AH like you have. They have been great to work with so far, very helpful figuring out the pieces parts details (mostly solar array) to put together a plug and play system, I'm a solar newbie and am greatly...

    Water filter preference

The containers don't really matter though the stainless steel is of curse superior, what really matters is the filter itself. Go with the best, forget the rest, get the Royal Dalton ceramic candle . http://doultonusa.com/HTML%20pages/technology.htm

    As requested by Will Prowse

Yes, there are HVAC units that work on LPG/Natural Gas the same way an RV LPG refrigerator works but they are relatively new and not widely used in residential applications. They have one at the local gas company they showed me last time I was there trying to talk them into bringing a gas line...

Luckily we don't have a monsoon season here and in fact its rare to have completely cloudy days. The saying here is that if you don't like the weather just wait 10 minutes, it will change. And yes, my next endeavor will be researching a wind turbine that I can erect without inviting a visit from...
