My reasoning is pretty simple... I needed to put 10# of $hit in a 5# sack? space is a premium in my application, so I used them. The manual says you can use them, they don’t recommend it because additional insulation and fusing is needed - so just fuse and insulate... no problem.

You may want to see if Michael Caro on here is still selling the soft washers to increase the contact area. I got some from him and they work great. Top terminal in the pic has it on.

The studs are welded in, so no, I didn't "loctide" them in... and since the contact point for conducting is between the bottom of the bar and the terminal, the slight counterbore is not a problem - the nut just holds the busbar down. I sized it so one bar can carry way more than my maximum...

I used 1/4" copper bar for mine, and it worked great. Little different configuration than yours, but same idea.

I did my batteries and inverter/charger first, then solar second. You can use the one panel and SCC that you have until you see how much you use out of your bank, then I would decide whether to add to that panel, or pull it and go with new panels. I found that using my generator, and shore...

Just wanted to add this in case anyone with a REC is following this. Had to tweak the storage hysteresis to keep it from draining down too much. It has to be tightened up being in the flat part of the curve.

How is the 12V in an RV any different? Every system schematic I have seen has a ground from the negative bus to the chassis, and it is sized equal to the largest cable (or at lmost one size down). That is in addition to the smaller chassis grounds from the cases of components.

It is charging from my Orion DC-DC charger. My DC power for the RV comes off of the secondary contactor of my REC Active BMS. If I add another MPPT, I will move the Orion to the secondary contactor as well.

Which ones? The one from the Lynx to the inverter is 4/0.

One of the many reasons I went with a REC active BMS... Contactor type with no current concerns.

Are you using Victron equipment? If you are, let me know because there are some areas where the instructions were messed up there too...

No, power from the 7 pin is useless... it is disconnected. I have a 30A DC-DC charger with 6 AWG wire from the truck. It only allows power to go one direction and charge my bank when driving.
