    Enphase w/ Victron

Multi vs Quattro - The biggest drawback with 2 Multis IMHO is you would need to balance the load on two phases yourself, while with autotransformer it does that for you as long as the imbalance current is within the spec. Otherwise, I think either way should work fine. Note that Victron has the...

BMS Options for Tesla Model S Batteries

Any BMS that supports 6S Li-Ion cell should work for Model S battery module. Victron Multiplus working better for these modules is due to its lower cutoff voltage, which would allow you to use more capacity out of the battery, same as the Sigineer inverter listed above.

    Enphase w/ Victron

Yes, I just realized that I did not specified where the Grid Profile was set at. It's set on the microinverters and you do need to have Enphase Envoy to configure that. I have LiFePO4 and you are correct that the assistant will only kick in when the voltage is close to the top range of the...

    Enphase w/ Victron

I have a similar setup but smaller running now (inspired by what @tanoshimini posted) for about a month and so far it's working great. I have 2 Victron Multiplus 24/3000 (split phase configured) AC coupled to 6 435W panels with IQ7As. I'm also DC coupled to 8 300W panels and 4 435W panels...

    SmartShunt help

Are you charging with the Noco charger shown in one of the photos? If so, you need to connect the negative clip of the charger to the stud of the smartshunt that's further away from the battery. Otherwise smartshunt won't pick up the charge current. I think MT50 probably just uses the battery...

Daly BMS (200A) with 2x Tesla Model S Battery Modules

Do you have a link to your Daly BMS ? Also, did you leave the 13th cell tap open ? If the BMS does indeed support variable number of cells, it should indicate how to handle the extra cell taps in the manual. Generally it would leave some of the middle cell taps open, instead of the most positive...

Daly BMS (200A) with 2x Tesla Model S Battery Modules

Are you sure you can use Daly 13S BMS with a 12S battery ? It may not be functioning correctly as it's expecting a 13th cell voltage. Also just want to confirm that your BMS is configured for Li-Ion and not LiFePO4.

    Manual Transfer Switch?

Would a transfer switch like this one work for you ? You can add an inlet on the exterior wall of the shop to connect to one side of this switch, and rewire the grid input that powers the panel currently to the other side, then feed the output from this switch to the panel. You can use an power...

Solar panel under 50v VoC and 8a Isc

Check out the Newpowa 24V panels, they are under 40V Voc and 210w panel is less than 7A Isc.

Victron Energy SmartSolar MPPT 100/20? Good, Bad, or Comparison to a Midnite KIDD?

I have ~10 Victron SCCs from 75/10 to 250/60, and I've not had any issue with them, so they are very reliable and well built. Also I love the data collecting capability that Victron ecosystem provides, which is accessible anywhere in the world via VRM portal if you have it set up. One thing to...

    Home Energy Monitor ?

Aeotec has a Zwave current sensor and you can connect it to your Zwave hub locally without going over Internet: https://aeotec.com/z-wave-home-energy-measure/. There'll be a bit more setup work but you get more control over the collected data.

New Idea For Tesla Battery Storage...

Sigineer does have some inverter/charger that cuts off at 18V to support Tesla battery modules: https://www.sigineer.com/product-category/inverter-chargers/tesla-battery-compatible-inverter-charger/. There are a few rebranded ones on the market as well if you want to shop around for price or...

BYD packs — one year on — survey

Yes, that's basically the idea. You want to parallel connect the cells with the same voltage together. Do make sure the cell voltages from both batteries are similar before bundling them together so you don't get fireworks unintentionally. ;)

Pulling the trigger on Batrium BMS, look right?

So I got the name wrong and it's actually BlockMon M8 that you need: https://support.batrium.com/article/75-what-type-of-cell-monitor-should-i-choose. And yes, that's the hole size for the BlockMon.

Pulling the trigger on Batrium BMS, look right?

If it's the 280Ah prismatic cells then you definitely need M8, as those cells have M6 terminal posts.

BYD packs — one year on — survey

For me definitely more trouble than it's worth with the price now on new prismatic cells from China. For one, the weight makes it difficult to move around, and dealing with weak cells in the group is a pain. I got 8 modules almost a year ago and I did parallel 4 modules at cell level following...

Pulling the trigger on Batrium BMS, look right?

If you are using LiFePo4 prismatic cells, you want to cellmons and not longmons. Depending on the terminal post diameter you'll need to decide if you need M8 or M14 version. I don't think you can use more than one expansion board with Watchmon4, and you may not even need it if you only use 1 or...

    Practical limitation of a 24V system?. 4 x Victron (12000Kw) and 12.8Kw Solar

Are the solar panels grouped by orientation already ? If so, I see there could be benefit for having a SCC for each group. Otherwise, going with 48V could save you one or two SCCs, which could be close to $2K in cost, as 250/100 should be able to support up to 5.8KWp.

Alibaba purchase feedback - Dongguan Lightning New Energy Technology Co., Ltd.,

Thanks for providing feedback on the vendor, but this thread is about Dongguan Lightning and not Dongguan HuanHuan. Dongguan is actually the location of the company, and I believe they add that as part of their company name to avoid confusion when there could be companies with the same name in...

Can I use my BYD modules and chevy volt modules in my power wall together

You would need to consider cell capacity as well and since they are all used batteries the capacity would be all over the place and you'll likely get the overall capacity based on the weakest cell. Plus, Li-Ion and LiFePO4 have different charge and discharge curves they will be on different...

Should I spend the extra cash for 24v Victron Multiplus for $1,027?

I think that price is for the 230V output version, so make sure you can use it instead of the 120V version.

Raspberry Pi Victron CCGX firmware with Victron VE Direct to USB Cable

Yes, you can connect a BMV to Raspberry Pi via VE direct and monitor battery and load in VRM. If you don’t need the display that comes with a BMV, you can get a SmartShunt instead and save a bit.

    ERMEHGERD! VERCTRERN! V ER M

For BlueSolar you can easily do that with a Raspberry Pi and a VE Direct to USB cable. I don't think it's possible for BlueSmart Charger though as it doesn't seem to support VE Direct protocol ? BMS available in US?

With Multiplus and large loads I would second the suggestion of going with SBMS0. If he has it in stock generally you should get it within a couple weeks. It worth the while to learn how to program it and not worry about MOSFETs being able to handle the current.

There's also inverter efficiency to consider so 50A sounds about right.

Can someone tell me if i should set my solar panels up parallel our in series for 48 volt 5kw converter

Inverter‘s max VOC is 145V so you can do 2 or 3 in series. I think 3S actually would work better as the operating voltage would match better with MPPT range for this inverter, but since you only have 8 you can try 2S first and see how well it works for you.

BMV Sync Problems Due to Very Short Absorption Times for LiFePO4

Interesting. I wonder if lowering the absorption voltage a bit would help holding the voltage long enough for BMV to properly sync the SOC ? I had mine set at 14.0V (28V with 24V system) as I have some imbalance in my prismatic cells and don't want to stress it too much. That seems to allow...
