Auto Inverter with 60v across ground will not run switching power supply properly

The negative is shared on mine. So no-go on series. I will point out, that the one that outputs 58v (and a 56v one) does not share the negative, according to the pic. So this info might help someone else...

Auto Inverter with 60v across ground will not run switching power supply properly

The boost device does work, ~750w continuous charge. So this will be my solution. No more messing with inverters. And it seems to not tax my auto battery nearly as much. Voltage dropped to 14.3. With inverter it was dropping to around 11.4 or so with 1200w ac draw. This will allow me to...

Auto Inverter with 60v across ground will not run switching power supply properly

For about 4 minutes, I thought it worked. I think I'm done trying this solution and now I'll try the DC boost device. Boost Device Here are my findings. For the first few minutes when I thought it was working... 1180 coming out of the inverter, 1135 going into the EcoFlow from the PS Then...

Auto Inverter with 60v across ground will not run switching power supply properly

I’m going to return the Giandel and order the Leesky. I’ll report back my experience.

Auto Inverter with 60v across ground will not run switching power supply properly

More research. This guy tested a inverter with GFCI, same one I linked, with his (Tesla?) car charger. He said a normal inverter would not charge is auto without an N-G bond plug. The GFCI outlet did in fact work to charge his car without a N-G bond plug. Time is aournd 20 minutes in.

Modified sine wave to 12 volt power supply to charge power station.... is it clean power?

Might depend on the power supply. Some might be ok, some not. I have used a 1500w pure sine wave inverter hooked up to my SUV's battery to charge my power station, so far without issues. My power station allows me to set the max charge wattage, I set that to 1200w or so, but I've done 1500w...

Auto Inverter with 60v across ground will not run switching power supply properly

I guess I'd have to contact several inverter companies and ask if they sell such a product, since I don't know that that is on any spec sheet. I actually asked Giandel as part of my question if they sold anything that would work for me. I'm unsure if they answered that, with all the GFCI text...

Auto Inverter with 60v across ground will not run switching power supply properly

Is doing that safe? Also of concern is that I don't want to damage my Ecoflow.

Auto Inverter with 60v across ground will not run switching power supply properly

The AC cable I connect to the PS, does have a ground wire, and that ground wire is connected to the PS ground connector. I just know that it works off wall AC, not off the inverter AC.

Auto Inverter with 60v across ground will not run switching power supply properly

It's not the ecoflow that is having the issue. The ecoflow charges fine from the inverter AC at 1200w. It's the external switching power supply that will not provide proper DC output from the inverter AC, but it does provide proper DC from a home wall outlet AC. My use case is at the top of...

Auto Inverter with 60v across ground will not run switching power supply properly

I wrote Giandel, and can't parse the answer fully. Basically asked if I can use the n-g bond plug with their product, or if there was some other way to get my PS to work. "Thank you for purchasing our Giandel power inverter. If you connect the inverter's LN to Ground terminal, this is...

Auto Inverter with 60v across ground will not run switching power supply properly

That is it. I’m using the solar charging port to get around the low specs of the normal DC charging ports.

Auto Inverter with 60v across ground will not run switching power supply properly

Hey, that does look to be a fairly nice option! Input range does say 16v, so I think that would cover my auto overvolting issues. That looks like it might be a solid backup plan if I can’t figure out my inverter issues. Or perhaps it’s worth it to just have a simpler setup.

Auto Inverter with 60v across ground will not run switching power supply properly

What happens when the EF tries to pull 16.6 amps from that? Does it quit? Does it burn up? Does it provide a stable 10a? DC DC Voltage Step Up Converter Boost Power Module 10-60V to 12-97V 1500W 30A CC CV https://a.co/d/1voLwYD I see this. Seems small. Unsure how I’d connect this to an...

Auto Inverter with 60v across ground will not run switching power supply properly

It seems the EF will take what is available DC wise, specs say 150v at 15amps. But at less than 150v is seems to draw up to 16.6 amps from reading and personal testing. I burned up another PS, it was rated something like 90v and 10 amps. I guess bad protection on that one. It’s unclear what is...

Auto Inverter with 60v across ground will not run switching power supply properly

Maybe someone will know if such a DC boost device exists. That would simplify things. I’ve searched in the past, and asked more general solution questions in other threads. The inverter manual says this about the grounding: The power inverter has a terminal on the rear panel marked...

Auto Inverter with 60v across ground will not run switching power supply properly

The inverter will run other heavy loads. 1200w for the EF AC. 1400w for space heater. Etc. I’ve also expiremented with a Handy Power X 1500w inverter, but it has a low overvoltage protection and my Traverse seems to output near 15 volts with no load, making it a challenge to use. I have a...

Auto Inverter with 60v across ground will not run switching power supply properly

Hi, I'm trying to get an Inverter to run a switching power supply so that I can use the DC to charge an Ecoflow (EF) Pro. The reason I'm doing this is that I want to charge via DC (off my auto, using it in place of a generator) and let the EF provide AC from the battery (3600w, proper 120v)...

Ecoflow Delta Pro charging from a switching power supply

Update: I received my 72v 20a switching power supply. Works well, 15.7 amps pulled from the Delta Pro. Seems to draw slightly less AC watts than it outputs DC, instead of 12% more. I'd have maybe gone up to the 80v if I'd known that bit of info, but this will be fine. At some point I'll be...

Ecoflow Delta Pro charging from a switching power supply

The 48v 20a PS drew 12% more watts on the AC than it provided DC. I used that number to estimate what a 80v vs 72v PS would draw AC wise at 15.7a. I don't want to get too close to the 1500w output of my auto inverter, so I ordered the 72v 20a PS. Will charge a little less than 1200w, but fits...

Ecoflow Delta Pro charging from a switching power supply

To test my Delta DC charging, I now purchased a 48v 20a power supply. Looks like my Delta Pro is fine with charging from this PS. I tested it with XT60 cable and got the full 8 amps it provides. I then tested it with the solar cables and got 15.7 amps, 754 watts. That is "probably" good...

Ecoflow Delta Pro charging from a switching power supply

Attempting to charge my Delta Pro, I fried my power supply. I hooked it up with solar MC4 cables, and at first it was sending around 1450 watts to the DP. The PS is only rated for 1200w. So I thought that was odd that it was giving/reading more. Then 20 seconds later my power supply started...

Ecoflow Delta Pro charging from a switching power supply

Ah, a tiny little wire in the connector! Thanks for the pic, I hope you did not go to that trouble on my account! I got a 3ft MC4 cable to test out this weekend with my power supply. I'm sure that will work fine using the EF solar cable. I was just trying for a cable that was easier to...

Ecoflow Delta Pro charging from a switching power supply

Well I thought that made pretty good sense. So I decided I would cut the cigarette lighter part off of my cable. I don't see three wires in there. It's a wire within a wire. Without a third wire that connects to that PIN I'm at a loss for this cable.

Ecoflow Delta Pro charging from a switching power supply

I’m not quite sure I get what to do with the cigarette cable, I think I need more direction here. Where is the ‘pin connector’? Do you take apart the xt60 connector? It looks solidly made, I’m afraid I’d destroy it. If I cut the cigarette lighter adapter off, is there a third wire or...

Ecoflow Delta Pro charging from a switching power supply

Wow thanks, that is awesome news that I can get around this! A google search seems to not turn up XTi 60 info. Do I just need to buy another EcoFlow solar cable and cannibalize to achieve this? Would I have to do the soldering on such a cable like you did? If modifying the cable via...

Ecoflow Delta Pro charging from a switching power supply

My central furnace will run just fine with the delta pro, and I considered getting another one for 240 operation of my central ac. But I opted for a window unit that is a 15 ceer with dual inverters that will do double duty at my cabin. I can get by with that at my house in an emergency.

Ecoflow Delta Pro charging from a switching power supply

I did read somewhere that the Delta Pro just passes through the AC when charging from AC. So there is a 1500w output limitation when charging from AC. All the better reason to figure out a good DC charging solution for charging during a power outage situation.

Ecoflow Delta Pro charging from a switching power supply

I'm waiting to test it again after I use my battery the next time and the charge goes down significantly. In case that has something to do with it. Because on AC charging, I want to say it adjusts the wattage depending on the battery state. When I did my charge test it was at like 97%. I see...

    Inverters - bonded/floating ground and reversed hot/neutral

Update on my setup: I now have an Ecoflow Delta Pro. The Handy Power X outputs floating neutral 60v to ground, which when I use that to charge my Delta Pro, the Pro outputs the same floating neutral setup. I don’t want that going into my house plug. I tried another decent brand of inverter...

Ecoflow Delta Pro charging from a switching power supply

I purchased a Jingmaida 1200w 92v 13a switching power supply to charge my Ecoflow Delta Pro. The plan was for extended power outages to use an inverter connected to my truck to send AC to the power supply, take the DC output into the xt60 port of the delta pro. I do this because the inverter...
