    Seeing Growatt Website Issues http://server-us.growatt.com/index

Anyone else still having problem with the Growatt site energy trend chart showing yesterday's graph? I emailed them about this still not working (for me at least). They only responded with "thanks for feedback". Also mentioned to them that users would like to see a battery voltage graphic on...

Help with identifying Bluetooth module connector-JBD/Overkill BMS type

I'm looking for a source for the end connectors that are on the cable for JBD/Overill BMS Bluetooth module. Any info would be appreciated. Also the wire gauge of the cable. I'd like to extend the cable or make my own longer cable. Thanks!

~100kwh for 24/7 off grid home

Will be interesting to see the effects of prolonged exposure to elements...snow/ice/rain/humidity/cold/heat//UV/wind/etc. Please keep us updated on that aspect. Very cool project.

~100kwh for 24/7 off grid home

I mean an out-building enclosure for those blue enclosures. Nevermind though. He's set on leaving them exposed.

~100kwh for 24/7 off grid home

Okay. Even in Maine weather you feel no enclosure is necessary? How low do temps get there and how high will the snow get?

Is this system going in an out building (shed) that's temp controlled?

JBD BMS noises - buzzing/humming. Broken?

I have no guess about what's causing the noise, but I have a 14s JBD and it is silent.

48V battery - top balance cells in two batches?

If I were to do the copper wire method of connecting/balancing cells, I'd probably use a length of ground wire from a romex cable instead of the way the guy in the video twisted that smaller wire. Also, I'd cover the positive terminals with something when connecting the negatives and vice...

48V battery - top balance cells in two batches?

Late probably, but you mentioned in the OP you broke the set into 2 batches due to not having enough bus bars. Watch how this guy does it...

    Growatt 3kw wiring question

speaking of "the first outlet"... When locating first outlet in a circuit (to change to fault-protected type, etc), I thought this video shows an interesting method (starting at about 5min in)... But then, rather than buying such an expensive device as that Ideal circuit analyzer, I thought...

    Growatt 3kw wiring question

Right, apparently X amount of people die each year from arc faults at outlets/devices/appliances that GFCI protection doesn't cover. So now it will be AFCI almost everywhere an outlet may be commonly used. The dedicated outlet at a refrigerator, for example, doesn't require this protection...

    Growatt 3kw wiring question

From what I understand, the 2011 code hinted at this new reqt. Then it became required by the 2014 code. Then it was further modified by the 2020 code to be more restrictive. So it depends which version of the code the local jurisdiction has officially adopted, but most likely they have at...

    Growatt 3kw wiring question

Just FYI, arc fault protection is now required by code at most rooms in a house, unless your jurisdiction still has not adopted this reqt. Existing homes are exempt until any change is made to the system, then the reqt kicks in...

    Growatt 24V SPF 3000TL LVM off-grid

I don't see why you have changed your zoning type by adding some panels. I don't see addition of off-grid solar on the list of permit reqt. If you've modified the interior electrical wiring at the main panel or within the walls, I can see why they want to inspect. But if you're adding...

    Growatt 3kw wiring question

Great info, thanks. The GFCI breakers are somehow more current-sensitive than the downstream outlet, I guess. Hopefully someone who knows what was really going on with the popping breakers will chime in and shed more light. Are you now without arc fault protection, though?

    Growatt 3kw wiring question

Nice setup. Did you ever try to connect an actual generator to your transfer switch (not the Growatt) and see whether the GFCI breakers pop? As I understand it, the GFCI breakers monitor current on hot and neutral, then pop when there is any imbalance. Somehow the Growatt or transfer switch is...

Overkill BMS Heat Sink & Mounting

Yeah, the screw thread is M3-0.5. I have that type of 12mm long screws added to the topside of the screw holes (did not remove the original screws from the bottom side, wasn't necessary for my mounting needs). There are 6 holes as you can see, but I'm only using the four corner ones to hold...

    Here it goes!

This (in bold) is what I'd like to do...timeshift power rates. When I bought the Growatt 3000TL LVM-48P from Ian in Utah, when asked about it he was unfamiliar with this capability. He suggested I look into some sort of timer. Browsing the manual, I didn't see anything about it either, so I'm...

MPP 3048 LV MK - split phase - first review - 2020 version

When you tested whether they could handle the surge from your tools, were they connected to grid/shore power at the time? Or off-grid?
  25. S

Kinda Urgent: I have choice of MPP Solar 3048LV-MK -or- GroWatt 3000-S. Which should I take? Same cost.

My question originally received only one reply (from Craig...thx), so I didn't have ample info to go on. Although the two inverters are similar, I chose the Growatt unit, mainly because the wifi/app/monitoring capabilities are more robust. Growatt's product seems more refined, but I don't own...

Finally found a LiFePO4 BMS with Low-temp Charging Protection

The forum user who has this BMS (upnorthandpersonal) only provided that aliexpress link. Not sure who manufactures it...possibly: BTW, he did confirm the low temp cutoff works as advertised.

Thanks for clarifying. Forgot to ask other question I had...is your unit strictly 16s, or can it do a range of cell configurations? I'm looking to do 14s. The data sheet appears to show a range, such as 14s-20s, similar to how the ANT BMS is set up.

    This could be interesting

Thanks regarding the low temp test. The BMS you show in your pic looks different than the one linked. Is it a pic of the other side of it or something? It's the exact same unit you ordered?

Finally found a LiFePO4 BMS with Low-temp Charging Protection

janky website for sure...but I believe I'm seeing units ranging from 14s to 24s, no? The one upnorthandpersonal (pictured in post #969 above) is currently using is 16s and he says it came from that site.

    This could be interesting

For instance... I suppose it makes sense if you're testing cutoff at freezing temp of 32F, you'd want a liquid at less than that, otherwise you'd be trying to stick the sensors into solid (ice).
