    V2H status?

Nice thread eveyone. Question for those doing the research or actually doing this: what EV do you have / plan to get? (And why). Thanks

    Thermocouple interference

+1 on the twisting the TC wires in order to reduce the antenna coupling efficiency. Been there done that. Worked for me years ago. YMMV. Ampere’s law is cool until when you dont need it :)

Does anyone know how hard would it be to run this propane gen on natural gas?

Bluetti AC200Max Battery Expansion and Usage so far..

Nice setup. I am on the same boat, backyard panel warrior with t=infinite ROI. Look into Jehu Garcia’s youtube channel. He has shown a few ways of building powerpacks for these units out of recycled batteries.

Bluetti AC200Max Battery Expansion and Usage so far..

There’s your problem. Look into used panels from craigslist. Typically 25-30cent/watt

DOES ANYONE know of another used wholesaler of Solar Panels

@ghostwriter66 who did u end up going with? Winter is coming

Downsides to LFP's? Sooo many questions and no bandwidth for videos.

I dont think anyone mentioned this gotcha yet: With all that expansion/contraction you can put a lot of stress on the cell terminals (bad). People get creative to get around this with compression/braces, playing with tolerances, flexible bus bars, etc.

    Run mini split off solar

The answer is What you are asking for is physically impossibe. One panel cannot feed a large ac unit continuously. Start with the watts. One panel makes 400ish watts, on a good day. The ac unit needs a lot more just to start. You can pool up the energy in s battery, sure. But the can only...

Gamble on BatteryEvo or wait for Eg4/SOK?

I am having a similar dilemma, but I have no experience with bb/be. sorry I cant be of much help I am curious, why do you not trust Amperetime. Dont trust their design or dont trust they’ll honor the warranty?

Solar panels in parallel or in series for Bluetti AC200P?

Lots of misinformation in this thread, so I’ll try to help future noobs. I was here a few months ago asking similar questions, it’s time to give back. 1) what is overpanelling? When you have more total solar panel watts than what the charge controller can accept (700w). 701w wont blow it up...

how long should a 2,560wh last?

there is a lot more detail needed to answer your question. But what you are asking is about charge/discharge efficiency. What are your devices? (Model# for charger, battery, cabling, fridge) What kind of measurement devices do you have? (Clamp meter, Multimeter, shunt, battery display, etc)...

    Can I do this two?

Dc dc converter helps for sure. In the ac200p you are limited to 12a. so more like 300w. Again, Not sure about the ac200max
  14. F

    Can I do this two?

Not sure what you mean, but the ac200 units can be charged from pv and ac ports simultaneously. The problem is that at 12v you are not getting a ton of power into the unit, so it will take a while. I have a ac200p, pv maxes out at 12A, so roughly 140watts. Not sure what the number is for the...

Wheeling my solar array out of my garage every day

You can use this for additional 500w input through the ac charger port - i plan to overpanel mine with 2x350w in parallel https://www.bluettipower.com/products/dc-charging-enhanncer-d050s

    Hybrid Inverter sizing advice

That wont turn on the mini split. With luck nothing happens, without shock/fire hazard. You would need either: 1) 240v only (EU spec) inverter - no usa outlets or other equipment 2) an autotransformer on top of the 120v or 240v inverter (signature solar, victron etc). $$$ and wiring fun 3)...

100% Newbie, Bluetti AC200p panels don't work? PV Over voltage fault?

Around 2 min mark. You can also read the manual :), but pretty sure the wrong dc charge mode is the easiest way to get the overvolt alarm.

100% Newbie, Bluetti AC200p panels don't work? PV Over voltage fault?

Short answer: I think ure trying to charge in car mode, limited to 24v. Switch to pv mode. Long answer: switch and you unlock the 150v mppt (but need at least have 35v to to turn it on). Watch wills video. It happened to him too

“Review” of Signature Solar 208w poly (used) - pallet of 20 @ $640

Crap, I thought the 355s would last forever. I was going to get more. They seem to have 315w available for $90. https://texoma.craigslist.org/fod/d/dallas-315w-canadian-cs6x-315p-solar/7378139544.html Decent deal?

    Bloated LiFePO4 Cell Configuration

Super interested in seeing how much useful life you get out of B grade cells. 90% capacity, unknown longevity for 50% price. Hmm, still too much of a gamble for me (the numbers are inaccurate, but you get the point) Once we know how long these last we can complete the equation. There is also...

Looking to upgrade my current Growatt 6kw inverter to 18kw: advice/questions

Have you thought about the peak wattage you need to handle for dishwasher+AC?sounds like you are basing your numbers off of steady-state loads. Regardless, very interested in your results of AC vs large inverter. How big is the AC unit? LRA?

Nicely done! here i was thinking I got a good deal with my $100 355w panels from craigslist. Ps i am also in dfw area, and still building up. lmk if you ever need to get rid of extra panels

12v Vehicle to 48v Home Battery Bank

As stated, it’s probably best to avoid the battery to battery idea. The simplest is probably a DC to DC converter from the high voltage pack. …or the reliable but inefficient 12v->inverter > charger if I had 64kwh on wheels, I’d sacrifice efficiency for simplicity.

    Track weekend trailer/mobile solar generator.

good luck with your build. i dont have answers to your questions other than "looks intriguing " how do you plan to mount the weirdly shaped midea? is there a window? will you cut a window sized hole and re-patch?

Central AC use at night in hot / humid climates

Thank you all for the fantastic responses and knowledge. I'll try to summarize: Figure out consumption to to calculate ROI. I do respect the ROI perspective, but like someone else said, after what we went through in Feb - we don't mind spending a bit to be independent. Currently I am 2k in...

Central AC use at night in hot / humid climates

I hear you. Minisplit systems are beautifully efficient. However, that's major renovation to install that around the house. wiring and electronics come easier than walls and paint to some of us.

Central AC use at night in hot / humid climates

thanks for sharing your numbers. I do believe I need 4 times the starting capacity, but maybe not 4 times the storage. Newer houses are well-insulated to be able to keep energy consumption reasonable. (as OP calculated) Here's food for thought. An entire Nissan Leaf can be had for $5K, 24kwh...

Central AC use at night in hot / humid climates

thanks for your reply. I am seeing about the same numbers from the fancy midea inverter AC. what I like is that it doesn't do on/off control, rather it ramps up and down the rpm. Regargless, your numbers are on par with mine. 200w if the room is already cold, 800w when initially cooling it...

I did the same last weekend and it was a blast. thanks for paving the way! the clouds with the panels in series were an issue, (too many failure points) i wish they would come up with something for that?
