It depends who and how production is being monitored. If you are looking at the power company site they are probably showing net production, which is production minus consumption. But you may have away to directly monitor your inverter or meter to see total production.

A security cable is a good idea, but if you are attaching to a suitable surface like aluminum, you prep the surface by cleaning it well (I use brake cleaner), and after firmly attaching with 3M VHB tape you completely caulk with Sikaflex, there no pulling these feet off!

I've thought about this too. The possible advantage of a manual bypass is you could be on AC power with the Multiplus turned off, because to pass AC power thru the Multiplus it has to be on. But I don't know if there is any real benefit to that?

You may want to test it when connected to a battery that you know is below a full state of charge. Also, I don't know the details of that charge controller, but my Victron has to be set for the correct battery type or the charge parameters correctly programed.
