    Voltage Dives with Any Load

I would start by testing the voltage of each cell, then try charging each cell individually. If the cells take a normal charge and are acting fine and the problem still exists, it must be your BMS misbehaving.

LiFePO4 Cells - Shenzhen Hongxinda New Energy Co. - Alibaba

Wow, sorry to hear @terrango - so far no issues with any of my cells, but if support is as poor as you indicate then others should be careful!

Seeking recommendations on cabin system build

7kW/day sounds on the high side for the usage you outlined... how did you come up with the 7000 Watt hours per day? I also like the Growatt units... the 3kW Growatt units are quite quiet and rock solid.

New Daly "Smart" BMS w/ Communication. (80-250A)

No, I've never tried - scared after reading all the reports of failed software/firmware updates for Daly units :/ You can set the SOC manually if you want - or when you charge the pack for the first time it should reset to 100 percent. But I'd contact your supplier and/or Daly directly for...

New Daly "Smart" BMS w/ Communication. (80-250A)

Sorry I don't have any theories... I own 6 daly's and have never seen this behavior. What do your individual cell voltages look like, normal readings? I assume you've triple checked all your connections?

New Daly "Smart" BMS w/ Communication. (80-250A)

That's not normal for a stand-alone pack... it should read 0. Did you connect it in parallel to other batteries? If in parallel the other batteries may be drawing from it.

    Solar panel output?

I wouldn't say that's accurate... I get 100 percent output from my panels (sometimes more), and Will Prowse seems to think that's pretty normal: https://diysolarforum.com/threads/12-year-old-solar-panels-still-producing-over-100-percent-rated-power.64457/

12 Year Old Solar Panels Still Producing Over 100 Percent Rated Power

Confirming some old panels are working OK before mounting them on my bunkie roof, and was happy to see they are still performing ABOVE their rated power output 12 years later! How are others finding power degradation over time on their panels? These are 230 Watt Canadian Solar panels - 4 in...

Growatt servers not showing data? This fixed it for me.

If that's the USB dongle you guys are referring to, then this is what I do when my plants don't show data: -check to see what the light looks like on the USB dongle... is it solid or blinking? which color is it? When this happens to mine, everything LOOKS ok (ie the light is blinking blue...

30 kWh DIY Battery Bank w/ Daly Parallel BMS

CATL 302 Ah Cell - Not Accepting Proper Charge Amps

Thanks again for everyone's advice - not sure why I haven't seen this issue previously, but it was definitely due to voltage drop from the battery clamps on posts. Switching to ring terminal leads solved the issue completely... thanks again guys!

LiFePO4 Cells - Shenzhen Hongxinda New Energy Co. - Alibaba

After placing two orders in the past year that went very well, I'm happy to recommend Shenzhen Hongxinda New Energy Co. as a reputable supplier of LiFePo4 cells from China: https://hongxinda88.en.alibaba.com/ The sales rep I worked with was Eric Wang and I have been very impressed with his...

CATL 302 Ah Cell - Not Accepting Proper Charge Amps

Also - based on everyone's feedback, i'm going to improve my setup by getting rid of the alligator clips and lead clamps and replace everything with ring terminals for future testing ;)

CATL 302 Ah Cell - Not Accepting Proper Charge Amps

Thanks guys - I do have proper charging leads with ring terminals, but I've never seen this issue before (with my exact setup) so I'm not sure that's the issue here (but again, i'll do as suggested and will report back). @hankcurt Thanks for the info, but I do actually have sense leads and I...

CATL 302 Ah Cell - Not Accepting Proper Charge Amps

I am finally getting around to building my next 24v pack from 302 Ah CATL cells and have encountered a strange issue while performing the initial charge. The plan was to individually fully charge each cell using an iCharger x8 at 30amps, completely discharge each cell for capacity test, then...

Do you regret roof mounting your panels?

Even though they were a major pain to install in my remote location (that's me installing them in my profile pic) I still do not regret roof mounting them. Partly because I don't spend much time here in the winter so not much maintenance is required, but mostly so that I don't have to hear my...

Is it feasible to configure a 200A BMS to work on 50ah cells?

I thought Eco-worthy sold packs, not individual cells... mind sharing a link for the "50ah Ecoworth" you are referring to? If it's a pack, it probably already has its own BMS. Whichever cells you end up using, check their datasheets for the max charge/discharge rates and adjust your BMS...

    Broken welded stud

I had this happen to me just the other day - I was building a pack for use boondocking that would be subject to a lot of vibration while travelling, so I thought I would try "Self-Locking Nylon Insert Hex Lock Nuts" to help prevent loosening. Everything went fine for assembly and BMS testing...

Can you put 2 different lithium batteries in parallel

Yes you can. Some BMS manufacturers even create modules specifically for this purpose (even allowing you to connect packs with mismatched voltages) such as Daly:

Opposite conditions? In Ontario in the Summer? I'm not sure where the OP is located exactly, but I'm at the Southern tip of Algonquin Park and with clear skies (which I get a lot of) I see 100 percent power generation from my panels - which are 10 years old at this point. EDIT - sorry, I...

First Draft: Shack in the Woods

A full sized fridge would likely use less power over 24 hours than your starlink router (assuming you leave your router on 24/7 also) - you may want to consider adding a fridge instead of dealing with ice (depending how long you are out there for at a time).

    Server Rack Battery vs DIY

    Server Rack Battery vs DIY

Well, the batteries finally arrived yesterday (April 10th) - so just under 10 weeks from time of order to my door. I'm away for work this week but will run some capacity tests when I get back next week and will post my results.
