If you have a 2024 EG4 6000ex I would like to know what you measure on the Idle Consumption is as I do not trust the manual. I have a old transformer EG4 6000ex and the stated idle consumption is stated at 100 watts it is not even close to that figure at 130 watts.

How did your solar fare during the January '24 freeze?

An air-to-air heat pump in your area is not recommended due to the low COP (less than 1) at the low temps you get however a water-to-air heat pump COP can be as much as 3 or more.

How did your solar fare during the January '24 freeze?

I cover all around and it has helped a lot in not having to drain the pipes as they never freeze now. You may be closer to me than that as I am only a mile from the parish line.

Has anyone tried adding heat to their heat pump with warm water or air to make it more efficient?

Actually, it was cheaper than trenching only about 2k when I had it done. I have just started doing solar in the last two years and found out that inverter-driven window units keep the house comfier than the central unit I am in south Lousiana.

Has anyone tried adding heat to their heat pump with warm water or air to make it more efficient?

I have been running a geosource heat pump system for over 25 years and am looking for an inverter-driven system to replace my unit the one I link to is brand new on the market. The heat exchanger is a coaxial unit (pipe in a pipe) with the water running in the inside pipe and the refrigerant on...

Has anyone tried adding heat to their heat pump with warm water or air to make it more efficient?

Not quite 10X the price but at least 3X the price and the smallest unit is 4 tons I only have found 2 inverter-driven units made for geosource.:( He could run water in a water-to-air heat exchanger in the air intake of the mini-split and get some heat from that but in very cold weather would...

75kwh of EG4 LifePo4 storage draining overnight with 1-2kw load.

Yep he does need more instrumentation in order to know what is going on. I just went through 7 days where I only harvested 5kwh for the whole 7 days I have 80kwh of storage.

75kwh of EG4 LifePo4 storage draining overnight with 1-2kw load.

I did a little math and I think you are not fully charging your batteries with only 8 panels and on bad sun days it gets worse. On a good sun day I think you are only getting 3kw of power an hour and i think that is on the high side.

    Victron 100/20 Under Performing in a 6S Battery (24V)

I am guessing here I think you have a 6 cell lith ion battery and you are figuring it as 4 volts at full charge to give you 24 volts but that is not the case you need to figure the normal voltage for each cell and I think your MPPT thinks it is a 12-volt battery and limits the charge controler...
