So, my choices will be: Wakespeed vs DC - DC charger My concern with the oft touted DC - DC charger is 2 x 35 amp (Sterling for $350 each) chargers pulling from the starts will still be loading up the alt enough to cook it.

Victron battery monitor is showing overall battery SOC is 77.4% and down -200ah from 840ah Guessing the app/BMS needs a bit of time to recalibrate itself Been so long since I needed to do anything I've forgotten the quirks found in the early days.

Yep, just went down below and visually checked. Shot everything with laser thermometer and tested voltage on all cells. All same and all seemed good. Unplugged BMS harness, blue lights off and reconnected. Blue lights on Pic of reading now on app for batt A Note SOC Temp at batt with laser...

Hi, a year or so ago we bought a batch of Eve280 A grade matched and batched cells from one of the recommended suppliers here. Made 3 X 24v batteries connected as a single 840ah bank Did it all by the book, top balanced, noalox, etc etc and they have been trouble free appart from Battery A...

Perhaps it's just one of those weird things. If I open the app on tablet vs phone it doesn't have a record of it but does have a record of the same on a different battery at another time. Weird.

Well, it did get fully charged while doing the initial top balance while on a bench. But yes, I see what you are saying. I need to be brave and get out the Victron USB dongle I never did the initial settings as then, I didn't have one but the electrician who did the install and big wire...

Now I'm thinking I may need to hook up the Mk3 usb and check settings. Maybe they are set a bit to low to get to 100% I though cutoff was set at 28.4v but it may have been done at 27.2v

Yeah, but the BMS has NEVER shown 100% on the gauge That's the issue me thinks.

Yep, I realise that but there is still is and always has been a discrepancy between the BMS and the Victron, gave it several months to try and sort itself out but it doesn't seem to be happening. That's why I'm trying to "trick" it, but I fear this ekectrickery is smarter than me. (-;

Charger throttled back amps considerably at 240ah and a "high" 3.4v/cell Still only showing batteries at 84% Resets the Victron to 720ah capacity and syncs So no better than before, well 4% better on BMS gauge but still a big discrepancy between the Victron at 100% and the BMS at 84% Grrrr

The eve specs have both resting and under load numbers.

I have taken note of the pre set BMS % numbers Compared them to the EVE % numbers And have hopefully got things a bit closer Have chosen 100% undecided yet 80% 3.35v 60%. 3.3v 40%. 3.27v 20%. 3.22v Batts are now reading 85%, never seen past 80% prior

Looking at the eve 280 spec sheet it seems their charge % numbers don't quite align with the JBD numbers. I think the charge % numbers are where the adjustments need to be made so going down that path now I'll wait until the charger stops charging and adjust the voltage numbers as the new 100%...

Yeah I know freezing will kill it but a freezing day where we are is 18c And I know 40c is hot and ideally I don't want to see it but I also don't want to shut the batteries and the boat down at what could be a critical time, think underway amongst reef and now no navigation as BMS has shut...

Care to explain why? I have never seen them higher than 32c But we are heading into summer and I do cruise in tropical waters. So 40c may be possible
