Looking for a list of Prismatic LiFePO4 cell sizes

Trying to replace a 9"x 9" X 8" lithium ion 24V 130Ah battery with 8 LiFePO4 cells and BMS. Having issues with current solution and changing format of the existing box is very cost prohibitive. really hoping I can find some and source them here in the USA as that would be a huge plus vs...

Looking to replace these 6T batteries 24V ~125-150Ah

They have obsoleted the 125AH NCM and 150Ah NCA variants for poor cycle life. They only offer the 103Ah shown here, but its just too little capacity for my mimimum runtime. https://www.bren-tronics.com/bt-70939.html Was wondering what my best option are that fit in the same exact space as we...

LV 6548's Split phase = Not Awesome

@MPP Solar USA - Ian Roux is a good dude, but I feel his hands are tied with his support through MPP Solar. I've had so many issues with the MPP LVX6548 its simply not worth it. Would buy from Ian but never an MPP product ever again.

LVX6048 Burned up on day 1 searching for cause

Here is my amateur's analysis of the MPPT circuit on the LVX6048 PV input: Removed Heat sink to expose switching components on the PV input board. Notes: 1. Board is Conformal coated very nicely and its hard to remove with Isopropyl and a brush. Good JOB with the moisture barrier! 2. a 1uF...

LVX6048 Burned up on day 1 searching for cause

Thanks for the checklist. 376V and 375V Open circuit strings were combined and double checked to be 376VDC. Polarity was checked before and after connection to match the PV1 markings. Unit was operating normally Saturday Afternoon and Sunday which was very nice sunny but ~32F (0C) day with...

OK I'm willing to accept conspiracy theories here too. ? I'm just worried I missed something and when parts arrive from Watts24/7 this could happen again. Then what do I do?

Seems to be a lot of issues going around witht his unit! https://diysolarforum.com/threads/lvx6048-burned-up-on-day-1-searching-for-cause.53750/ I got mine from Watts247, and he's been pretty tight lipped about possible causes. Where did you get yours? I'm just wondering if its a bad...

LVX6048 Burned up on day 1 searching for cause

My dad and I installed this LVX6048 Saturday afternoon. We could not get the WIFI to connect to the APP as the setup reported the WIFI module on the LVX6048 could not communicate with the inverter. All else was working well.--FYI--One annoying problem on these others have reported here is the...

HIQ batteries from eBay store--With UPDATES*

I asked: 1. What is warranty time and how is warranty handled? Prorated or replacement and how long? What is process for Return of battery or approval to declare a defective and return? If battery does not meet the advertised capacity of 100Ah is it covered under warranty return? 2. Why does...

My adventures building a DIY Mn/Fe flow battery

excellent work. Do you believe flow batteries can/will replace Lithium Ion in Automotive applications. If so, when? Also have you seen the Iron Air Battery plant scheduled to be opened in WV? I haven't heard of Iron Air batteries only Zinc Air from years ago.

HIQ batteries from eBay store--With UPDATES*

I don't have a DC Clamp meter, I gave it away (aka loaned it to a friend and never came back) but the motor is rated at 2.6kW. So I assume the rating is a 100% power which at 48V is like 54Amps. I was wasn't keeping track on the test above but recently we've been checking and I believe it...

HIQ batteries from eBay store--With UPDATES*

Reply from HiQBATTERY: All batteries are factory tested, but not tested again before shipping. Because they have less than 20% SOC at the factory, the voltage will vary, even if you receive a battery with 0V, this will not affect the use of the battery as long as it can be charged. For the...

HIQ batteries from eBay store--With UPDATES*

Bought 4 pcs from HIQ Battery Ebay store. $1098.16 delivered to my door. Shipped from UPS which was very slow because of the holiday season. Here is my opinion on them so far: PRO: 1. Light weight-- ~21lbs each 2. Small for the 100Ah 12V design 3. Very nice gold plated terminals that come...

    Father-Son Solar Golf-cart build

Been thinking about this since my son was captivated by Will's video. Last night I bought a 2008 Yamaha YDRE (Drive?) cart in good shape but the batteries are bulged and need of replacement for $1500. Yamaha is a 4s 12V battery configuration to make 48V. Then I ordered 4 of these HiQ 12V...

Looking for a LVX6048 for my dad as a Christmas gift

Anyone have one they can separate from? I've been looking and on the Watts24/7 waitlist but can't seem to find one in the US. I know I can take my chances and order from TW but would rather not deal with them as I've heard the horror stories. Thanks Dennis in Maryland

    Charging 0 Volt 26650 Cells

Sorry, I don't think a 4s smart charger could be more safe than a current regulated power supply and power resistor bank. Cells are either short and cannot store energy, (so ~50mA into a short no big deal) or they are a resistor that dissipates stored energy as heat at the same rate which it...

    Charging 0 Volt 26650 Cells

NMC and NCA seem to be more forgiving than the straight Cobalt cells of years ago. My buddy at MoliCel says they have a "ceramic-like" coating on the cathode that keeps them much more tolerant to low voltage abuse and dendrite growth.

    Charging 0 Volt 26650 Cells

Bought a bunch of 26650 LiFePO4 packs for my son and I to play with. $75 shipping included for 135 (3.3Ah) cells in low voltage packs so I figured what the heck. 3 different manufactures of cells but in general ~80 have voltages between 2.0-3.3V-- all successfully charged to 3.6V at 250mA...

Oh Ohh! 56650 LiFePO4 popped caps

If those 3 cells with expanded caps all have good voltage and don't smell like electrolyte, I'd cycle them first. If they cycle normally I'd top balance them and rebuild the pack. Of course if you have 3 more cells I'd replace them to be safe, but if they don't leak I'd use them.
