    Grounding Rod Necessary

As explained by Mike Holt. The "E" takes every path, everytime, always.

    Grounding Rod Necessary

Electricity does not follow the path of least resistance. It follows every available path and they all share the same voltage.

    Grounding Rod Necessary

Thanks, ya something Mike said in one nec video made me think that pulse would be carried down the panel circuit wires. But another nec video said they need to be brought back to earth with the controller and equipment ground. So I'll run a ground from each panel along the panel circuit wires...

    Grounding Rod Necessary

Pretty sure nobody should be getting shocked from thier panels......

    Grounding Rod Necessary

If anyone has actual documentation showing that static accumulates on panels from wind please share that. Nothing I Google is confirming static from wind at all. Only wind lowers the temperature. Says wind causes static on helicopter blades or wind turbine blades but nothing on solar panels.

    Grounding Rod Necessary

So like I said I'm not going to earth my panels out back looks like I'll be bonding them to my battery and earthing everything together. That way nearby lightning doesn't fry everything in a ground loop.

    Grounding Rod Necessary

More ground rods are more places to be electrocuted from watch the video.

    Grounding Rod Necessary

And I had planned to earth my array out back. Not anymore.........

    Anyone over-paneling an EPEVER MPPT?

Says here when controller gets too hot lower the input value from panels. Because it can't dissipate anymore heat. So if you have the tracer in a very cold environment you could put more power into it. And because it is aluminum it cools quite quickly. The other epever controllers are plastic...

    Anyone over-paneling an EPEVER MPPT?

One has a metal body and can dissipate the extra power loss through thermal conversion the other models are plastic..... No heat loss.

Need help! 48 volt caught fire

That's right black is only ever a chassis ground in vehicles once you get to ac black is a hot lead. Yellow is commonly ground in marine applications I believe but if it's not green read the instructions. I've also heard those breakers are slow to trip but have never used them.

    Grounding Rod Necessary

The only way to get current off an unhooked panel and an unbonded panel is to have an internal short and you should have your panels tested also check the earth connection near the panels for line voltage I assume you will have some from a continual internal panel short. If they are bonded and...

    Grounding Rod Necessary

Here I got it easy to grasp now. I drew some straight forward examples. Sorry that's not the order I took them but..... Basically you can't complete a circuit to the sun so grounding panels together to earth does nothing but create a risk of electrocution during a panel short. Remember what Mike...

    Grounding Rod Necessary

I keep seeing unbroken wire to earth rod it can be cut and connected with a ring terminal and bolt or clamped on and a second clamp could be used to connect the second rod. It just means 1 earth system. If you have 2 rods separate lines to panel you make a loop. You don't want a loop.
  15. M

    Grounding Rod Necessary

Ask yourself how were you conducting a circuit from what you were touching, to where it wants to go. That will tell you of it was your panels or not. standing on your roof you will not be connected to any path to source. Therefore you couldn't create a circuit. So you had to be doing or touching...

    Grounding Rod Necessary

I'll watch that again tomorrow for a third time.

    Grounding Rod Necessary

Sounds to me like he said don't ground the panels to thier own earth if close enough ground them to the house rod if off grid insulate them from the ground.that way the panels can't induce current and loop into the system and to the battery bank earth rod. Any induced current to the panels...

Why did my SIX marine batteries (27DC2) die in less than one year?

I see the link won't take you to the specific batteries just to thier site you can use the 3 lines in the top right to select products and skim down the different batteries.

    Multi mppt charge controllers.

No, nor do I want it to. The specific battery recommended charge rate is only 40 amps and I don't expect more than 8 ish amps per controller at any time nor will all panels be facing the same angle so the actual current will remain much lower throughout the day but constant.

What 280's do I buy from Amy?

Volthium has some YouTube vids showing thier Bluetooth in action against another battery.

I haven't actually looked at the renogy data sheet but I drool over the Volthium data sheets daily.

Volthium VS Renogy Lifepo4 50AH Battery- HELP

I also am looking at Volthium d serries batteries. Bit like you mentioned thier currently making videos in English. The bms is made by Texas instruments and some come with built in heaters. Really good looking data charts.

Good. I'd hate to have unforseen, foreseeable issues down the road. Thank you.

My negative experience with my solar charger Epever Tracer10415AN and a warning for using it with Lithium Battery

Will has videos explaining connecting and disconnecting. Really informative videos.

    New lithium and shipping.

Cold weather. Can a battery be damage from freezing during shipping. If it sits on a truck somewhere at minus 20°c for a few days or a week or 2 would it have any lasting effect ? Just overthinking again here. Thanks.

Why did my SIX marine batteries (27DC2) die in less than one year?

Awe. Sorry. Volthium.com. anyway. If anyone's curious. Yes expensive cause I'm in Canada. Really good looking data sheets.....

    Grounding Check

That specification I believe is to prevent the few from connecting the negative panel lead to the panels chassis earth lead and only run the positive lead to the controller. Like don't drink the contents of the battery.....

    Breakers or Fuses and Switches?

Lots of reasons that are personal some make sense if you over think stuff some cause I'm dumb..... I don't like having a single issue that causes lots of problems like if a big controller goes down you have no panels. I can have them set to different angles per controller and better control my...

Why did my SIX marine batteries (27DC2) die in less than one year?

Just get lithium batteries. Solve your problem. Or one big one. I think. I'm ordering one of these in March. https://volthium.com/en/product/battery-wallmount-24v-200ah-5-12kwh/

    Dumb question.

No I would never terminate anything like that or I'd fire myself from using tools. I did that one so it was easy to show what I meant by filling the gap. And other crimps were all test crimps here's finished crimped but not heat shrunk yet, it's enroute to my house still. Like I said around 8...
