EG4-LL v1 BMS Communication “Float Stoped”

Did you update to the latest firmware for that battery, is it the V1 [discontinued] or the V2? If V1, I have the same batteries, a firmware was released some time ago, I updated as I use them in a Schneider system. I keep my modules balanced by keeping float enabled, but changing voltage about...

Home Assistant Integration - Schneider 6848 Pro with EG4-LL's [with display] V1 Batteries in Closed loop communication.

I'm a little late to this thread, sorry about that. I will post all the information I have gathered so far. I want to make my HA config much more modular, however I am having a difficult time, as I have 3 MODBUS connections; I have a thread here...

New to solar, just bought 71 kWh of batteries for DIY some help please :)

Congratulations on the modules. I have four of these now that I am working on. Check out my post I have in these forums, on doing exactly what you plan to do. https://diysolarforum.com/threads/battery-hookup-280ah-17kw-modules-battery-build-16s.68024/page-3#post-878911 Thanks! Feel free to...

    Schneider firmware really has issues

The InsightFacility Gateway Firmware v1.18 is available to download again. Has anyone tried this again to see if the "bugs" have been worked out?

Battery Hookup 280ah 17kw Modules Battery build (16s)

I got tired of all the crap inverters out there. GroWatt 12k was beast, but had hardware issues, I tried EG4 6500's as well. The EG4's literaly blew up, so I went with Schneider XW Pro 4868 - Never had an issue since. I'm completely off grid, so therefore dependability is a must.

Battery Hookup 280ah 17kw Modules Battery build (16s)

Quick Update: Tinned the bus bars/connections. I tried both the Vinegar bath or hydrochloric acid at 10:1 ratio. The Vinegar gave the best result for me. Temp Installed the DALY BMS, used an electrical Terminal Block with levers to route the Sense Wires, I am in the need for connectors for...

Battery Hookup 280ah 17kw Modules Battery build (16s)

Yes, these are supposed to be new never used CATL cells. From what I have seen, I do believe so as well. I was in the same boat, I’m glad I pulled the trigger to buy 4 of these. Fingers crossed that I do not run into no issues.

Battery Hookup 280ah 17kw Modules Battery build (16s)

Updated Photo's. I am waiting for parts to come in. When that happens the next photo's should contain heat shrink'd bus bars, tinned connections with installed DALY BMS [Temporary] Or, I wont get that far, time will tell!

Battery Hookup 280ah 17kw Modules Battery build (16s)

I will use a DALY 150 [US stock is avialable] for the time being, as I am torn between the Seplos BMS and the updated PC200: Pace BMS P16S200A Andy's Webiste: https://off-grid-garage.com/battery-management-systems-bms/

I will tin plate them, I think Tin should be enough? Do you? I will only Tin plate the areas of contact as the remaning area's will have heat shrink on them.

Thank you for sharing the video! I only found two videos of these cells (modules), this one and David’s. I’m sure it’s ok the way he has it, but I think I would like to do something a bit different than what has. I’m hoping to have mine more cleaner looking. Not knocking on the guy of...

Battery Hookup 280ah 17kw Modules Battery build (16s)

Ok I think I have figured out how to complete the 16S of the 20S module. Here is a semi-mock-up of it. The module is in 20S configuration. Above is the plan for 16S. I have a pretty good idea as well on a 4S configuration for easy wiring in the near future. Since I have 4 modules...

Battery Hookup 280ah 17kw Modules Battery build (16s)

I am not sure, David Poz's Video makes some statments about these being from an abandoned project. I would assume mass storage for a grid system myself. But I do not know.

Battery Hookup 280ah 17kw Modules Battery build (16s)

OK a bit of progress: I purchased these from amazon, [I am not an affiliate]: https://a.co/d/g1rSm3I Also, I cut some of by copper "buss-bar" so I could use the existing routing of the front battery bracket/design. I moved the existing connectors over by .75", in the same plane as the...

All MODBUS Maps and Schneider XW 6848 PRO integration into Home Assistant via MODBUS TCP

I could validate previous to any changes mentioned here. I am editing with the built in web file editor of HA. The configuration of MODBUS works as expected, when adding another connection, it still works, but now YAML will not validate with developer tools. However the built in file editor...

All MODBUS Maps and Schneider XW 6848 PRO integration into Home Assistant via MODBUS TCP

I have home assistant as well. Currently I have large battery modules that I will set up, it seems I will use the PACE BMS 16s200A for these 17kw modules. I expect to setup communication with my Schneider system via CAN and pull data for home assistant, then push this to HA. Or I will...

Battery Hookup 280ah 17kw Modules Battery build (16s)

Ok, now I need a good BMS, I’m considering Seplos or Pace/Gobal power’s BMS. Off-Grid garage seems to suggest these are the best from of his testing. I would like to have communication with XW 6848 Pro and that when fully charged the MPPT’s are not commanded off. (Not sure if a victron only...

Battery Hookup 280ah 17kw Modules Battery build (16s)

Great! I measured the existing busbars and this is what is already in use. The Exception was they have a sliver coating and polished at the connection points. I plan to polish and use Belleville washers.

Battery Hookup 280ah 17kw Modules Battery build (16s)

I purchased these for creating busbars. I plan to attempt to bend/form these for use in the module. I will create one for the 16s, that leaves 4 prismatic cells left in the pack. Therefore I will create an additional busbar for these units. With 4 left from each pack I can create another...

Battery Hookup 280ah 17kw Modules Battery build (16s)

Agreed! So far I have a preliminary design. I will be using 4” c channel. I also cut the existing BMU female plugs out and plan to make the plug in as a wiring harness. This will allow me to use the existing wiring harness. Still not sure was BMS to go with. Seplos or maybe the one used in...
