How to measure production by simple microinverters

Yes, that would be great, but somewhere else I read that bluetooth and Wifi are options that are not installed on the base models. I also found a little cartoon of a set up with a monitoring device (watt meter) of some sort attached, which suggests there's no wireless monitoring. Hope I'm wrong...

How to measure production by simple microinverters

The microinverters will be connected in parallel on the roof, so I can't check them individually unless I go up on the roof and lift up the panels. The ammeter I'm looking at is meant for permanent installation--the loop is solid and is fixed on a wire once installed. Just wondering if anyone...

How to measure production by simple microinverters

Hi folks. I'm building a low-cost, dead simple grid tied system on the roof of a workshop using some discount solar panels and inexpensive 4-channel, 240V microinverters. I'm planning to connect three 1400W microinverters in parallel to have a maximum of 4200 Watts on a single 240V breaker. And...

What to do about a smashed solar panel shipment?

The dispute I filed with my credit card company came out in my favor. It took a long time which makes me think that Solaris never responded to the credit card company and the clock finally ran out. I'm guessing something is very wrong at Solaris and they just can't keep up. It's hard times all...

    Grid tie with 120V?

Hi Folks, I'm doing a fairly big rooftop grid-tied solar installation, and due to some unfortunate circumstances it looks like I may end up with a few extra panels. So I was thinking about building a small array (just 4 panels) out in our pasture near a greenhouse where there is a lot of sun...

What to do about a smashed solar panel shipment?

Nothing from Solaris. I sent an ultimatum giving them a couple of days to respond. If they fail I'll go to the credit card company again and dispute the rest of the order. Then buy all the stuff again somewhere else (and ship with insurance).

What to do about a smashed solar panel shipment?

Maybe so, but I think it is telling when the BBB revokes your membership. Incidentally I did finally get an email back from Solaris. They asked me to fill out one of their RMA forms (which I had already done), and said they would be working on these over the weekend. So they are shorthanded or...

What to do about a smashed solar panel shipment?

Thanks for these comments. I went to the Better Business Bureau and looked up Solaris Technology Industry. Lo and behold I found that they have just been revoked for not responding to disputes. Accreditation Revocation: On 07/28/2021 this business's accreditation in the BBB was revoked by the...

What to do about a smashed solar panel shipment?

Thanks for sharing your stories MurphyGuy. Your first experience sounds very similar to mine except my panels are shattered and shedding little shards everywhere (i.e. worthless). I didn't see any options for insuring anything--but I do wish now that I had tried harder. I knew there was a...

What to do about a smashed solar panel shipment?

My card is issued by USAA. I think they are typical if not above average. They did tell me that I would not have to pay the charges until the dispute was resolved. I think I can repeat the dispute if I want.

What to do about a smashed solar panel shipment?

Hi folks, first timer here. I'm trying to install my first solar array, and it has been a real struggle. My city requires a structural inspection and a permit from a licenced electrician. Rounding those up took months. I must have had a dozen electricians turn down the work because they were...
