Easy to maintain RV setup for retired step-dad (EG4?)

The batteries would charge with a supplemental solar array he can set up when that works and RV park charger when he is heading into heavily wooded areas. I would look at a few options, either 48v to 12v or get 12v converter but still evaluating options when looking at efficiencies. His hot...

Easy to maintain RV setup for retired step-dad (EG4?)

My stepdad retired and moved into an RV after my mother passed away. He is not very technically, minded and I am trying to come up with a user friendly setup for him to help with his travels. The existing RV is based on 12v but the inverter and battery setup needs a major retrofit. Based on...

My 9kw (soon to be 16,5kw) solar array with 3 inverters setup to generate 3 phase power

Your setup looks great, my only limited feedback is that I have many and have used many of those dc breakers you have in the system please do yourself a favor and get rid of them asap. I have had a wide range of experience with them and they don't seem to be even close to the correct amp rating...

    DIHOOL Breakers - Amazon

I switched from the really cheap car ones (after some melting) to these and they have very solid feedback and have worked well so far. I will write a review and figure out some better ways to test them at some point.

Do We Need a Control Group?

I am confused, did Cleveland Clinic make it mandatory or not?

Do We Need a Control Group?

Nope, it is data from hospitals around the country, compiled and distributed via an updated dataset by the CDC. A lot of studies use this data but in my opinion the hospitals, doctors, and most of the government who have access to the real data are in on it and trying to perpetuate this for...

Do We Need a Control Group?

Less education also means less income on average, and older vehicles / less safety features, etc. Newer vehicles with braking assist, lane keeping, self driving could make it even moreso.

Do We Need a Control Group?

If you stay home and don't travel as much you are less likely to get exposed, seems pretty obvious to me and not "things put out there to confuse the issues". Causation vs correlation is always tricky, but it seems telling when someone jumps to intentional obfuscation instead of applying some...

Do We Need a Control Group?

I guess I am a bit out of the loop then. The theory you are pointing out is that COVID vaccines cause more COVID? I thought a significant number of people who get COVID didn't end up with symptoms, and so didn't get tested? I would be curious if they tested for antigen response in these...

Do We Need a Control Group?

Wow. Blast from the past. It looks like this was jumped on immediately without time for peer review or evaluation. It also doesn't seem to fully address severity of infection vs vaccination, which, correct me if I am wrong, has been the primary message for over a year now, as it has been obvious...

    48v 64 cell SAB 60280 Batrium K9 Rack Build

I've direct shorted these cells and overcharged them, their internal resistance varies by a ton, so you definitely need a very robust balancing BMS to handle them. They also vary between 46 and 64 ah from the suppliers Ive tested

Dump batteries to grid at night?

I was considering that but will need to change out all inverters, but it might be the best option if I really want to do that. I currently have non GT inverters with a total of 25KW output and 30KW pv input and was trying to bridge the gap another way. From all of the options you gave my guess...

Dump batteries to grid at night?

I should also clarify, without replacing a lot of things or running new lines, I already have the AC from the 25KW of non grid tie inverters fed back 200 feet to where it could tie into the grid, but the batteries are located 200 feet away.

Dump batteries to grid at night?

Helpful as always! I will take some time to look through these options. The motor option makes me curious. I could choose a motor that outputs a higher voltage so when connecting it to the grid it feeds it back rather than draws it, but how does it match the grid frequency? I lack some of the...

Need help with wire gauge size

Once you come up with the wire sizing feel free to respond in this thread if you want help double checking. The last thing you want to do is buy a bunch of wire that ends up being unsafe, or not size protection adequately. Best of luck !

Dump batteries to grid at night?

Hola fellow photon pharmers. I am in the process of expanding my storage capacity closer to 200kWh to help handle cloudy days, and am considering adding some more panels to over panel to keep my usage as clean as possible. If I do this then there will be sunny days (weekends primarily) that I...

Many packs in a small space

I have built several 16s Eve 304ah packs but am trying to wrap my head around how to get a lot of these packs in a small space while still being able to reach all of the terminals for troubleshooting/testing/tightening, etc. Ideally, I could mount them on their sides, terminals facing outwards...

Yes, as you turn them on they sync

5000ES + Autotransformer (my specific setup) input

Your load panel most likely has n/g bonded, the question then becomes is your setup bonded to its own ground or back to the main panel? After that it gets out of my comfort zone but a lot goes into the ground, neutral, electrode, subpanel, etc discussion.

It is working fine, I cant find any issues, no sneaky current, or anything.

Get some hinges and small winches so you can leave the panels hanging down the side of the truck and then hit a button to move them up. If you mount some pulleys on metal conduit above the roof line you could adjust both sides to optimize tilt angle as well! Just don't hit the deploy button...

    My bomb battery....

Nice! but was 55-110A enough for jumping really? What gauge wire did you use? Really line them up to get that maximum impact

I have a new electric truck getting shipped to me.

I personally prefer the batwing deployment, but some will default to the phoenix. Either way unless you are in Arizona or Gotham, or have access to cheap labor, some tidal fish bobs have more efficiency... again, personal choice.

That is a personal question and outside the scope of this post. I will refer you back to stacking panels for deployment during the rest cycle.

Not sure what Uber's rate is for larger vehicles like that, probably can charge a fair amount.

I have a new electric truck getting shipped to me.

It will be a lot of work. First you will have to stack the panels high enough to fit the number you would need, secure them, but also make it so you can quickly deploy them in an empty parking lot each day. I would recommend building some variable angle 2x4s so you can minimize your down time...

240VAC 50A relay, triggered by a battery voltage.

This seems like something simple that has been done before, but apparently I suck at searching. I want to measure the voltage of a battery, and when it hits a certain voltage (full charge) it triggers a 240VAC 50A relay. Then when the voltage drops to a certain point, it triggers the relay...

A different way to think about climate change

Amen to crazies all around. I think the problem with the left crazies vs the right crazies are how they impact those who do not have the time, inclination, or ability to research and understand science. If we set as a given that climate change is happening and that at the very least human-kind...

Current Sharing with Large LiFePO4 Packs

Isn't some of that discharge capacity of the other pack then being utilized by the parallel pack that is attempting to equalize? I don't have the math for how that would all be determined.
