    AliExpress: Beware OYE Store!

Sorry to hear, good luck with the refund. I think acting quickly and having capacity test evidence are key. 122Ah sounds really bad. The worst one I got was around 160Ah, which almost met my need. In the end I sold them for around 20% less (with total honesty) locally (although...

3.75Kw solar panels + inverter UK

Hiya, A few qns please: 1. What Sofar inverter is it and did you upgrade the warranty to 15/20 years? 2. Are the panels these-> https://midsummerwholesale.co.uk/buy/eurener/eurener-375w-mepv-zebra-ab-half-cut-mono ? 3. Would you consider selling only: Panels Inverter (depending on model)...

    My first Solar project

Another thought on the vertical panels that I didn't see mentioned is that I believe some manufacturers don't permit supporting at either end on their longer (>2m) panels (for surviving high wind loads I guess). They'd be sheltered by the fence somewhat but it might be worth checking the spec...

Did anyone else run out and buy a 48V EG4 battery after watching Wills Video?

Has anyone managed to get one in the UK please? Signature Solar don't appear to ship here.

UK Help needed with 5.5kw hybrid grid tied I'm old school C&G trained so would appreciate some help

Not full G99 but.. a) for my G98 DNO notification I wrote "N/A" under installer qualifications. I carefully provided all details requested, clear wiring diagram etc. It was all fine. b) I am currently in the G99 fast track process and also wrote "N/A". A network engineer did actually call...

Recommendations for sourcing 3.2v LifePO4 "EVE" or other quality cells in the UK?

I have been using the non-smart Daly (80A/16s) as a newbie. I found that curiosity and other concerns (dodgy cells from OYE store) lead to me manually checking voltages often as they approached high or low charge. With hindsight I'd just paid a little more for the smart one, and I'll certainly...

    AliExpress: Beware OYE Store!

Thanks. I will order one of the capacity testers. Following advice in another post I cleaned all the battery terminals and busbars. I had unpacked them all in my gloomy garage and hadn't noticed they were really grimy. I got a 10A bench supply. It would take too long to charge them from...

    AliExpress: Beware OYE Store!

Sorry, have been busy with work. I'd scanned about half and they were all P721s. Will do the rest asap. I haven't decided on an accurate capacity testing strategy yet. I'm actually tempted to put them on eBay (with a totally honest description of course), take the hit and consider it a...

    AliExpress: Beware OYE Store!

Thanks, yes I am hoping some at least are above 170ah. My non-scientific estimate based on reviewing electric usage on my smart meter and the SoFar unit is that the bad one is 148ah. I was going to get the cheap capacity tester that Will mentioned in a video but then read in many comments...

    AliExpress: Beware OYE Store!

Yes, this is also an option. I am a little prone to "all or nothing" thinking. First I need to test them all. There was one "obviously" bad one but I am not sure about the rest. $1900 for 280ah cells from a trust worthy source sounds great btw (same per ah as the dodgy OYE ones :))

    AliExpress: Beware OYE Store!

Unfortunately the delivery was back in June and it was late August before I could unpack :( Of course I was stupid. Hopefully I can either get some use out of them or sell them after testing each cell.

    Newbie LiFePo4 16 woes

Thanks, yes I'll buy/borrow a tester. For now batteries are disconnected and I'll move them to my outdoor shed or conservatory tonight. Paid by CC but this was back in April and in the UK it appears there's a 120 day limit for claims :/

    Buying from Aliexpress

Yes, understood. I have had some success with Aliexpress and I noted someone on a different DIY solar group bought from OYE and seemed happy enough. So I thought it was worth a gamble. I am hoping to either use these batteries somehow or sell (with full transparency and honesty after doing...

    AliExpress: Beware OYE Store!

haha yes haha yes that's the funny thing- if I'd known it would be only e.g. 7.5kwh I might still have gone ahead as it's still significantly cheaper than Pylontech etc. It's the deception that irks. Chat on aliexpress: Oye: Hi friend! Me: Hi, you sent me used, badly matched, relabelled cells...

    Newbie LiFePo4 16 woes

So yeah after checking, like member Watchout, I have P721.. series cells (according to QR code) relabelled as P921.. and hence presumably have some dodgy cells :( More testing to be done. Unfortunately I am well beyond the Ali dispute period (due to moving house). This might be an expensive...

    AliExpress: Beware OYE Store!

I couldn't resist a quick check already. Yes 190827. I checked 3 QR codes- yes P721s. So I for sure I have relabelled cells.

They even accidentally wrote PWOD in one of their OYE feedback replies :) Yes, I will check the dates at lunch time.

    AliExpress: Beware OYE Store!

Yes, I saw the other thread. I haven't checked the QR codes yet but all my serials are P921... I need to rig up a capacity test. My gut feel based on my normal electricity usage is there is at least one cell that is only 170ah (one battery in the pack driving ME3000SP triggered low voltage...

    AliExpress: Beware OYE Store!

Sorry to hear of your experience with OYE. I also got 16 200ah CALB that were supposed to be "100% brand new". I am not experienced with LiFePo4 batteries but mine do appear very mismatched and the terminal copper is not at all shiny. I unfortunately didn't even open the box let alone test...

    Buying from Aliexpress

Hi, I ordered 16 200ah CALB from OYE store. They appear to be mismatched. I will test and also scan the QR codes. I am quite worried now.

Thanks. I will look for the post by calbusa as I am not sure the cells are new (although they looked like it). The listing said "NEW" when I bought but now changed to "Grade A" [ https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4001083766967.html ]

    Newbie LiFePo4 16 woes

Hello all. Wish I'd started reading here earlier! I have just setup 16 CALB 200ah cells (from Aliexpress) with a Daly 80a BMS (non-smart version, from BangGood) coupled with a Sofar ME3000SP. I don't have solar panels yet. I have been getting to grips with it over the last few days but it's...
