    any thoughts on ExpertPower

How did you like it? I'm eager to add another 5kWh to my setup but can't decide on the vendor. - ExpertPower - CloudEnergy - Vatrer - SS I purchased a 48v charger from ExpertPower a while back and found their email support to be great.

Need a way to bottle or can excess solar production.

If your batteries are full you need more batteries ;)

Where to connect DC/DC Buck Conveter

That's a max of 640W. Do any of your 12v appliances surge?

    My battery's full!

You're quite right. I have an Ecobee thermostat doing the pre-heat/cool. It's fairly good at deciding when to kick things off.

    My battery's full!

Thanks Harry. I get what you're saying, but extra panels are a non option due to lack of space. To reiterate my setup... - I have 3500W of panels split between two arrays and charge controllers. - I have a 5kWh battery. - The battery was full faster than I expected and it's only March so I'm...

    My battery's full!

I'm well aware a penny saved is a penny earned, and much work has been done in that regard. While conservation is paramount in our minds, as regards family, well you can lead a horse to water. Mine are adapting slowly, but old habits die hard.

    My battery's full!

Not a bad problem to have. I started noticing a week or two back that my array generation is, in addition to covering the house load, fully charging the 5kWh battery by about 2.30pm to 3pm. By about 9pm-10pm the battery will be empty as family come home and leave everything switched on. If the...

    Vatrer 48volt 100 amp?

They have a 51.2V 16S version on the site now. Looks pretty good. No comms may be a deal breaker for some. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0C9HPYKNG/

    Charging problems EG4 6000XP/Generac 7.5kW PowerPact

While I hope you can figure it out without having to spend, would one of those EG4 Chargeverters help? Seems to be the selling point that they make 'dirty' generator power nice for inverters.

    Split phase inverter leg voltage

Indeed. I knew at the time I was ordering it I was cutting it fine and wanted the 7kw version but that was a fair bit more and the device had yet to prove itself. I like it because I have separate components. It's offline so doesn't phone home, has no iffy firmware to go wrong, and the idle...

    Split phase inverter leg voltage

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BNPSV3WX/ It says it can ramp up and it seems to be true. The outcome of today's experiment in case you were curious... Base load on the house was 195W. These were run individually, not at the same time, and each worked. - Furnace blower (900W) - Coffee machine...

    Sol-Ark 12K Disconnecting from Grid

A software issue then. I don't know about Sol-Ark's relationship with the firmware running the inverters. Do they have their own developers and if so, do they plan to trace the root cause? I'm sure you're not the only one this will catch out.

    Split phase inverter leg voltage

Hello, I have a WZRELB 3000W 48v split phase off grid inverter that I've been wanting to put through it's paces so decided as it's nice and sunny to take the house off the grid for the day and see what the inverter could do. I noticed when I ran the dishwasher that the 120V leg that its...

Thanks for the reply! Do you have a link to those strut channel nuts, and what sort of clamp do you have holding the panel to them? A bolt and washer?

    The journey

Hello all, Do you find as you're on this solar journey that you've reached a point where stuff works well enough, and anything beyond that becomes wants over needs? Where do you draw the line? You could spend the money, but do you need to? How do you justify it to yourself? I'm in that...

    Whole home system

Nice work! Glad you have a utility that allows great setups like this. How are your panels attached to the superstrut? Are there holes in the back of their frames or is there a clamp that I'm just not seeing?

New 10kw NHX AIO From Watts247

If I'm understanding it correctly, among other things here we have... - zero export (so can connect to main panel rather than needing another panel) and use the CTs to prevent back feed. - 48v battery support - 10kw x up to 8 units. - IP65. If house loads need more than it can provide, will it...

Batteries are being overcharged by All-in-one Inverter

Update - Ah crap didn't see it had already progressed that far and can't find where to delete a post. Tagging @42OhmsPA for input as the PowMR 10K is just a rebrand of his SRNE.

EG4 18k caused massive voltage spike

If you haven't already make sure to install a whole home surge protector in your breaker panel. It protects against surges from the utility and other devices in your home. I believe they are mandatory now in some states. They are available for all panel types. For example, mine is the...

    Minor Backfeed Issue with Utility

1w is so tiny, I wonder if you could put another small always on load consuming at least a few watts between the meter and the ac in of your inverter. Any backfeed should then be consumed by it.

    Scam from hell.

The kettle is the first thing I check with any prospective setup. Note the test case in this video. Brit priorities!

    Scam from hell.

It pains me to see the endless cookie cutter neighborhoods going up, sometimes on flood plains, with the same dumb non solar friendly roof lines, packed in like sardines with barely any yard, so no ground mount, same old inefficient HVAC, etc. PHIUS is an alien concept to the builders round here...

48v to 12 v buck converter to run 12 v inverter to reduce high standby power consumption of all-in-one

A company called Daygreen sell one that'll handle 60A (720W). There may well be others. https://daygreen.com/products/36v-48v-to-12v-13-8v-60a-828w-dc-dc-step-down-converter-voltage-regulator-3-years-warranty-newest

    Scam from hell.

In all this came one good thing. The work you did above made a huge difference and is something everyone should strive for. Otherwise it's like bailing out a boat with a hole in it. I hope you manage to resolve your situation.

Midnite Solar Announced their new 10kw AIO at Intersolar Today

You mentioned it was of SolArk 15k spec, so perhaps contact engineer775 as he installs those and has a decent YouTube footprint. DavePoz at one time tried to go SolArk and ended up going Schneider. Perhaps your AIO might give him a viable 3rd option to talk about. SolarEngineering has good...

    Positive Youtube reviews

My tests so far have been fairly basic. I boiled the kettle, ran the microwave, and mowed the yard on the built in outlets. I’ve since wired it to the house and it is running all the base load, french door fridge, laptop, monitor, lights and gas furnace blower. I have not tried much else as it’s...

HQST charge controller compatibility cant get any support

It looks like a rebadged ePever. Perhaps you can get some info via the docs on that. https://www.amazon.com/EPEVER-Controller-Upgrade-Tracer4210AN-Charging/dp/B07CFKWPZM

    HQST charge controller

They're solid. I have the 60A with 150V max and my 120V array went over on one of those perfect cold days recently. The CC E10'd me until I sorted it out. 90V array now. It's much happier and so am I. @cotton top did reconfiguring your array solve the E10 for you? What config did you settle for?
