    Victron compatible LiFePO4 BMS

seems canbus is quite 'workable' as well, and as far as I can judge the trick is to get your canbus board connected and once that's fixed there's only a few standards to go with (I read there that pretty much any canbus compliant BMS should work????)

    Victron compatible LiFePO4 BMS

As it's opensource and 'free', the amount of documentation is depending on the time people have available. I'm using it with a RS485 connection and a usb adapter in the Raspberry Pi I'm running venusOS large on

[JBD - JIABAIDA Smart BMS - AP21S001] cannot set battery capacity

I've got this 6-21 cell BMS AP21S001 200A, all works fine. Only parameter I can't seem to save is the total capacity. It gets saved and returned when i read the config, but the app (and also the driver I use to read stuff to vitron VenusOS) is stuck in thinking I've got 280ah in my 200Ah...

EVE-280 cells should these be clamped tight or spaced for expansion?

more or less my approach. Clamped all 8 together with 4x m10 rods and plywood at the ends. Used a 17mm socket (without the handle) and hand tied it while the pack was more or less at ~90% SoC. Put them in top balancing (flipping half of the cells) and hand tied them again for top balance...

Anyone in Europe got an EVE LF280 for sale?

yes my bad. https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/Eu-Us-Stock-Grade-A-280Ah_1600219202538.html ordered those. Seems to be a compagny with a long long history. Also they are realistic in measurements. Dec 2021 stock, assuming slight degradation 272AH should be possible with a well balanced...

Anyone in Europe got an EVE LF280 for sale?

You seem to have an eye on the market :) I'm looking to score 280Ah new cells that are already in stock in Europe. On aliexpress I seem to pay a heavy price, on alibaba there's more offerings but hard to tell who's real and who's scam. Any recommendations...

    LiFePO4 100ah advice in EU

I'm in The Netherlands. I've found a shop on Ali (TPO Technologies Store) that seems to have an acceptable reputation and can provide a 24v 200Ah battery with a JBD BlueTooth bms. Will compare that against building my own

    LiFePO4 100ah advice in EU

curious, after a 12v self built battery I might be in the market for a pre made 24v setup. Needs to have low voltage cut-out. Also wil consider building myself again if that seems better. Really love my JBD 4s BMS

    Conservative settings

Thanks, unfortunately is the wall charger I use now (Victron blue power charger 12/30) a fixed program charger. On 12v (Li-ion setting) it will charge to 14.2v (absorption) before dropping to 13.5 (float/storage). No way to set this, Only thing I can do is use the BMS to get Soc and roughly...

    Conservative settings

I've tested my lifepo4 230Ah batteries and they delivered as expected (or even better). Now i'm down to 3.00v per cell (ish) JDB BMS is now set to trigger at: LOW 2.5v (reset 3.0v) HIGH 3.65 (reset 3.45v) I really don't need 230Ah, it was just the cheapest cell / kwh ratio at that point...

    Europe - cheap LiFePo4 (eve) cells 230Ah

YESSSSS BMS tells me I got the full 230 and is now at 0 for a while, the hall sensor was a tad more conservative and tells me I've used 232 now and I'm still running. Lowest cell is at 2.876V now so almost done. As I'll have to go I will have to stop here. Consider the test a WIN. GOOD cells...

    Europe - cheap LiFePo4 (eve) cells 230Ah

Had to reset, but got to the 1kwh mark so far. 80ah, hopefully another 150Ah to go... Can already tell 1 of the cells is 0.12v below the others (only balancing while charging). Fingers crossed on end results.

    Europe - cheap LiFePo4 (eve) cells 230Ah

there we go. Did a proper top balance, will now discharge some. recharge (so the BMS can reset to 230Ah instead of the pre configured 150Ah) and start testing. Already a bit worried on cell 4... and the voltages in general ~3.3 volt should be 60% while I only pulled 0.334 KwH (according to my...

    Europe - cheap LiFePo4 (eve) cells 230Ah

My charger is a quite strong power supply. I'm now running 20A at 3.6V (the safe way). been doing zo for ~24hours by now I think. (alternating between 10 and 20a as 20A makes the fan of the charger run and it sits in my office) So there should be roughly 160~200A charge in there already. Still...

    Europe - cheap LiFePo4 (eve) cells 230Ah

thanks for being so clear. Made new cables now the voltage drop is 0.09V over the new 10cm 2.5mm2 cables and it's taking full 10A at 3.4V (unit set to 3.6V) weight of the cells is perfect. all at 4.17 something KG's Will let it sit for a little, I can also consider giving it up to 30A at...

    Europe - cheap LiFePo4 (eve) cells 230Ah

the wireing is buggerbad... for SURE but should do more than 2Amps as each connection is ATLEAST 1.5mm2 copper and short. I'll let is sit for a while an try and find a manual to do a resistance test. Once the BMS is in I'll try a capacity test as well.

    Europe - cheap LiFePo4 (eve) cells 230Ah

At the moment doing a top balance with my 30v charger set to 3.6v and allowing up to 10A (only draws 2a at the moment with a battery voltage of 3.3v) hm shouldn't I expect it to draw 10A (max of supply)? The supply is capable up to 30A so it for sure can handle 10!

    Europe - cheap LiFePo4 (eve) cells 230Ah

2 lines above that they do mention 1c in a chinglisgh line that might point to charging :) I'll have to look up the method of measuring the internal resistence. Do have an Ohm meter and should have some small resistors lying around... Does anyone have a good howto on measuring resistance? Note...
