Swollen cell - what can I do with it?

It was about 3.40 when I noticed it bulging. If I can somehow bring the voltage right down that's what I need. How to drain a 3.2v cell without hooking it upto 3 other cells?

Swollen cell - what can I do with it?

Fantastic, just what I needed to hear. There's a bomb in my garden!

Swollen cell - what can I do with it?

How low temperature? At the moment it's outside in the garden. About 25C day and 15C at night.

Swollen cell - what can I do with it?

I purchased 4 cells from china, and after charging one has seriously swollen up. It's voltage is 3.33v. How can I dispose of it? Or how could I bring down the voltage of one single cell to drain the battery? I'm worried it's going to explode!

    Combine 2x 8S 24v Systems

Yes I do mean batteries. I don't have a problem putting them in parallel I'm just wondering how I would wire up the two BMS. Which would then be the main negative if I have two of them? I guess Ill just shunt them both together the pos and the neg's.

Well that's me convinced. Thanks very much!

    Combine 2x 8S 24v Systems

I have 2x JK 200a BMS which ive been using for a while. I will just connect the 2 cells in parallel and continue. Does anyone have a wiring diagram for 16S in 8S2P with 2x BMS?

    Combine 2x 8S 24v Systems

Yes of course you're right. But what about if I put 2 cells in parallel and just use one BMS?

    Combine 2x 8S 24v Systems

I have 2x 8S 24v 280ah LifePO4 battery packs which I want to combine to create 1x 24v pack. I have 2 separate BMS which are 24v 8S. What's the best way to connect these together? I don't have a 16S BMS so should I run two separate BMS 8S and connect in parallel? Also, would I need to top...

Where can I get these BMS wires?

Can anyone tell me what size the 300a red wire would be?? Black wire is 25mm2 and the red is roughly double.

Where can I get these BMS wires?

No not Alaska. AK is the first two letters of my surname. I live in southern Spain.

Where can I get these BMS wires?

Yeah after I clicked submit I realised they are simply two wires crimped together into one. It's just difficult to find the wire size and the crimpers where I am. They arent on Amazon here.

Where can I get these BMS wires?

I bought a battery box 'kit' from Alibaba which came with a 200a BMS, and these 25mm2 thick wires and an even thicker positive wire. (Photos attached). I've also bought a new JK BMS but it wont come with these wires. So my first question is, where can I buy these thick wires, with two...

BMS over voltage protection blocking solar charging.

Yeah so my 200a BMS and 100a charge controller is more than enough. Even this time of year it's giving me 1200w, 6 hours a day.

BMS over voltage protection blocking solar charging.

It is, but i have absolutely no idea yet how to do that. (I've only had them a few days). For now, ive set the inverter max 60a.

BMS over voltage protection blocking solar charging.

Thanks, I think that may have been the issue. I've gone through the settings of both my BMS and charge controller and set both to 60a. Considering I only have 2kw or solar that should be enough? Although today with the 4 panels, its putting in 40a. I think in summer it would be double that.

BMS over voltage protection blocking solar charging.

On the BMS settings the 'Continued Charge Current (A)' was set at 25. Would this be the max amps allowed in from the solar? I've changed it to 40a and I havent seen the warning again yet. Considering I have a 200a BMS. Does that mean I could set this parameter to 200a same as discharge current?

BMS over voltage protection blocking solar charging.

I have a 200a JK BMS running on my 24v LifePO4 battery bank, but it's constantly giving me a Charge Over Current protection warning and blocking the current from the solar input. (Photo attached). In the settings the BMS over voltage is set at 3.6v. Also im only using a 40a charge controller so...

Could a charge controller be draining by batteries?

Thanks all for the info. My main concern is the charge controller going backwards. I have an Epever TRIRON 3210N and the KWH counter went BACKWARDS overnight by 0.9KWH. How could that happen?

Could a charge controller be draining by batteries?

In the middle of the night my inverter started beeping loudly like it does when the batteries are dead, the batteries just emptied out of nowhere. There was a small load of about 50w but nowhere near enough to drain a 280ah battery at 60%. The batteries were 12.8v at 10pm, and then 10.8v when...

Should I trust the BMS or the charge controller for SOC data?

I've just received some LifePO4 cells (280ah REPT) and put them into a 12v battery box with a JK 200a BMS. All came supplied just connect and go. The batteries were all balanced when they arrived at 3.29v so I connected them all up and started using it. I installed the app and set the...

    Is my charge controller faulty?

It's 11AM, sunny day and I've just looked at my solar charge controller, and it was showing 120w and the battery was showing 99%. Then I looked at the batteries and they were showing 24.2v on the inverter. I then added a load and the solar shot upto 780w. Is my charge controller faulty? Why...

Help with selecting a Hybrid Charge Controller

I have it connected 24/7 to two freezers which pull 100w continuously but have starting surge which i'm unsure of. I also use it to boil a kettle and power a small 2000w oven. I am in Southern Spain so these 2000w right now in November put in 5kwh per day.

Help with selecting a Hybrid Charge Controller

Yes of course, I made a couple of mistakes there! I was too busy thinking about the input amps and ignored the output. And yes I mean all in one, or hybrid inverter. So the minimum I need would be 80a, and high enough voltage for the 4x 38.35 VMP from the panels = 153V. So i need an AiO unit...

Help with selecting a Hybrid Charge Controller

I need a new Charge Controller, the 40A one I have now is not big enough for my 2000w panels and 24v bank. I've been looking at hybrid controllers, but I'm hoping for some recommendations please! I've seen one which is 80a max 450V - but that has only caused me to ask more questions. I need...

    Solar wiring sizes.

So just to be 100% Solar panels > CC (2m distance) = 8AWG CC > Batteries (4m distance) = 6AWG Also as I mentioned, the solar panels have 12AWG wires to the MC4 connectors, is it normal go to 12AWG > 8AWG?

    Solar wiring sizes.

If I understand you correctly, you're saying use larger wires? Other than the cost element there's no drawback?

    Solar wiring sizes.

I've just purchased some new panels 4x500w and when connecting them to my CC I noticed I was using 6mm wires, but the wires coming from the panels themselves are only 4mm. Would that be a problem going from 4mm wire into 6mm? Theres about 2 metres of wire from the panels to the CC. Or should i...

Mixing different battery sizes? Same voltage.

Yeah that's what ive done. I have 3 separate systems. But that means 3x inverters and I have to run extensions and battery chargers to keep them topped up. It's a pain. So I wanted to just stick them all together to make things easier.

Mixing different battery sizes? Same voltage.

Yeah that's what I thought. Ive currently got the 2x larger batteries together. But the others are just being wasted. If that's the case then these two would be 2x lowest @ 1214 = 2428wh total?

Mixing different battery sizes? Same voltage.

I have 5x lead acid 12v 245ah batteries, each of which have different capacities. Some are older than others, and some have been used more. I did a discharge test on each individually and they are all different: B1: 1285wh B2: 1214wh B3: 715wh B4: 645wh B5: 645wh My question is, can I put 4...

Is 48v the biggest bank I can get?

That's what I was thinking :ROFLMAO: I remember when I first started with 12v and thinking 48v was a huge amount and I was happy with 12v. Now I look back at 12v and wonder how it even powered anything looking like the batteries in the tv remote!
