Sol-Ark 15k will only invert 13k of DC PV to AC

Sorry to hear about the bad situation you've been put in. Any update after the firmware update? Although it doesn't sound promising based on Clint's response above. Likely unrelated, but it's worth mentioning. I believe likely have the same Sunpower 435W panels (SPR-E20-435-COM) and some of...

New Lux Power LXP-LB-US 12k / GSL-H-12KLV-US with 200A AC Passthrough Current (US Market)

It should be perfectly fine, as long as it's grid tied as excess can be bled off to the grid. If off grid, there's nowhere for the excess energy to go (if the batteries are full), the LUX will not be able to shut down the AC coupling that quickly. You'd need a dump load if off grid and the...

BATTERY SELLERS - THE GOOD, BAD, UGLY -- or Jenny (DOCAN) so far so good ...

If that's total cost with fees and shipped to your door, that's fantastic! In fact, I'll build another battery or two at that price! If not, then I guess you paid more than $105.

Can Solar DC wiring share conduit with AC power?

If running separate conduits for AC and DC conductors, how far should they be apart if in the same trench (recommended depths for each)?

Sol-Ark 15K All in One Inverter Released.

I think I've seen someone post a link for reasonable raceways somewhere here, anybody have a link? I believe they were 10", but folks were shimming them out 1" with success with the 15k. Has anyone installed a SA w/o using a raceway?

New Lux Power LXP-LB-US 12k / GSL-H-12KLV-US with 200A AC Passthrough Current (US Market)

I'd add excessive idle consumption to the list, although for everyone's sake I hope the reported numbers improve with updates or usage.

New Lux Power LXP-LB-US 12k / GSL-H-12KLV-US with 200A AC Passthrough Current (US Market)

I just saw this after I posted. It would be interesting to see this verified with a clamp meter. If accurate this looks like it's less than half of what the SA 15k is using? If so, that's impressive!

New Lux Power LXP-LB-US 12k / GSL-H-12KLV-US with 200A AC Passthrough Current (US Market)

Has anyone put a clamp on theirs yet to check idle consumption?

Can I run a grounding wire 150ft from PV array to inverters?

Use 6ga back to the existing grounding system? At some point I may add a small sub-panel at the detached dwelling. If so, can I just tap into that same ground conductor back to the main ground?

New Lux Power LXP-LB-US 12k / GSL-H-12KLV-US with 200A AC Passthrough Current (US Market)

Congrats on the purchase! BTW, I believe the SA 15K has a max VOC of 500VDC @ 26A, IIRC.

How to calculate, how long the battery will last

Not to mention you'll likely not want to use 100% of the batteries on a regular basis. So using only 80% of the 10.24kWh batteries, the inverter idle consumption drawing about 2.76kWh/day, and your efficiency losses... You're looking at about 5kWh or less of actual usable batter capacity left...

Can I run a grounding wire 150ft from PV array to inverters?

Like (many?) others, I'm still a little fuzzy here regarding what's required and what's actually best practice. In my case, I have my main panel (with grounding rod nearby) at the house. I have a detached structure roughly 50'-75' away with my DC PV panels on top of it. In this case, does it...

New Lux Power LXP-LB-US 12k / GSL-H-12KLV-US with 200A AC Passthrough Current (US Market)

Don't forget to include payment fees for your payment method of choice. This can add another 3%-5% or so (IIRC), I don't think I'd ever consider buying anything from China without some payment protection (via CC, PP, etc).

Sol-Ark 15K All in One Inverter Released.

Keep in mind if you have a smart meter on your house, it will probably trigger some type a warning or tamper alert on the meter (which will likely be sent directly to the utility) if you back-feed the grid. If you still have an older analog meter, no real concern in that respect.

Sol-Ark 15K in Operation--my thoughts on install and communication

Either way, I'm sure this is an improvement over the original configuration. I just posted the info if you wanted to pursue dialing it in even more. Looks like a great build, enjoy it!

New Lux Power LXP-LB-US 12k / GSL-H-12KLV-US with 200A AC Passthrough Current (US Market)

FWIW, I went with the SA 15k and DIY EVE 15k battery/JK BMS (which is very easy to do). Total cost delivered to my door was just under $10,300. To me the extra money was well worth it for domestic service and support, especially for a more proven product/company. I'd rather pay more for a...

Sol-Ark 15K in Operation--my thoughts on install and communication

The thread I linked earlier has a great discussion on paralleling multiple batteries and is certainly worth a read. Ultimately, EE and forum member Solarod came up with what's likely about the best balance you're going to get for a 5 pack battery. Note busbars would be required, but looks like...

Sol-Ark 15K All in One Inverter Released.

I do recall a thread started a couple of months ago in the GD forum by a forum member who bought/installed two EMP hardened SA 12K's (IIRC). He started the thread bashing them because he wasn't getting 24kW out of them. He evidently never read the specs or data sheets! :ROFLMAO: EDIT...

Sol-Ark 12K Capacity setting for a parallel set.

Sorry, I do not have two 12k's, only a single 15k. And agreed, that second inverter alone will eat close to 1.5 kW per day so it would make more sense to get more panels on it.

    MPP LVX6048WP vs Sol-Ark

I looked at every option. Little cheap inverters, grid ties, hybrids, small and large, imports and domestic. No storage, then later realized storage was almost a must given the crap NM programs in my area. Up coming ToU plans, etc. Long story short, I decided to just bit the bullet on the...

    DIY walkable solar

I have a large driveway, that would offer a LOT of space for panels if they could be driven on, although I can see a lot of technical hurdles with this!

Doesn't that auto-disconnect anyway once turned off at the SA (anti-islanding)?

    My Megarevo 8K went boom.

It sounds like your problem is before your main panel/breaker. You might want to have the meter box opened up and check the lines from the meter to your main breaker as well. Assuming this is a typical setup, the source of your issue almost has to be in that area. I'm also assuming you're...

New Lux Power LXP-LB-US 12k / GSL-H-12KLV-US with 200A AC Passthrough Current (US Market)

I think time will prove this will likely be a decent inverter (possibly after the bugs are worked out). I thought about going this direction myself, but after watching all the MR issues, I didn't want to be a first adopter, especially with another 100% Chinese company. By the time shipping...

    Bonding and Grounding Solar Components

Well I'm better educated after reading through all this, but still confused as to the best way to handle my own installation, so any suggestions would be appreciated! My DC coupled panels are going on a detached garage, which is about 50' (at the closest points) from the house (where my main...

Compress or not, flexible busbar or not

I believe all of the info in section 3 basically focuses on cell testing and failure modes. Basically this is what NOT to do! If you'd like to try to clamp the crap out of your cells and over-charge them, over-heat them, drop them, etc, feel free to follow all the recommendations in section...

How does this look? (opinions please) - DIY battery pack inspection and maintenance

Agreed, but even if these steps are taken, oxidation will still build over time creating a delta... Which is why I don't care for the idea of doing 2P.

Compress or not, flexible busbar or not

Given the cells significantly expand and contract, and EVE tests cell failure with a rigid fixture, it seems crazy to me that folks are using completely rigid fixtures. To each their own I guess. EVE recommends compression for maximum longevity, and they basically give us the pressure...

Flexible buss bars and frequent re-torquing

The bar I saw was solid and had the kink pressed into it. The stack of thin strips sounds like it would offer far more flexibility. The question I have is, how do you know what/which you're actually getting from China???
  32. W

Compress or not, flexible busbar or not

I would use something like these. Four threaded rods and four of these valve springs are in the right ballpark for the EVE 280 cells, so if yours have similar requirements, the same should work well. The pressures within the pack should be similar...
