    Two 12v inverters (1000w & 2000w) off 12v battery bank (3 12v in parallel) possible?

Awesome, thanks for the feedback guys. My batteries are Hawker 820a industrial forklift batteries and plan to use most of the load for a small mini split on the (2000w inverter) and for home office (1000w inverter) during peak sun hours. I'll need to pick up some cables, busbars and fuses.

    Two 12v inverters (1000w & 2000w) off 12v battery bank (3 12v in parallel) possible?

Is it possible to hook up two two different12v inverters (1000w & 2000w) off 12v battery bank (3 12v in parallel)? I'm assuming I would connect the inverters to the +/- bus bars?

    Flexible 12v/24v/48v Inverter ?

Got it, thanks guys. Yes Kitrobasking, I'm thinking of a backup for my 24v system.

    Flexible 12v/24v/48v Inverter ?

Is there such thing as a inverter that can handle 12v, 24v, 36v, and 48v?

Grounding solar panels for metal carport

Great thanks for the feedback. What grounding method do you recommend to attach to each panel? is it best to attach a ground lug to each panel?

Grounding solar panels for metal carport

I have a 2 x 250w solar panel system on my roof with Ironridge racking on a metal carport with weeb style grouding clips between the panels and the racking. The carport has posts directly into the dirt about 4' deep. Do I need to do anything further to ground considering I'm using the weeb...

Everyone's thoughts on best size solar panel to maintain 12v car battery year round?

CA = Caifornia. Yes true about lower output for flat installations. Thanks WME for the 25w eco-worthy link. I may try that.

Everyone's thoughts on best size solar panel to maintain 12v car battery year round?

Sunshine Eggo, I'm in central CA and the panel will be mounted on a flat roof with no shade. I don't believe the charge controller has temp compensation. Parasitic drain will be minimal. OffGridForGood, got it thanks for the feedback :)

Everyone's thoughts on best size solar panel to maintain 12v car battery year round?

What's everyone's thoughts on a setup for maintaining a 12v car lead acid car battery year round. I've tried 5 and 10 watt panels (10a Renogy Wanderer charge controller) and they tend to be too weak during the winter months. Would a 30w panel be about right? Thanks in advance?

Need Combiner Box For My System?

Hello everyone, I need some help and feedback gathering the rest of the equipment for my solar system. So far, I have the following: 1. 24v battery bank 2. Midnite Classic 200 charge controller 3. Samlex 24v 2000w Inverter 4. 250w solar panels (Imp 8.13a, Voc 37.5v) 5. 10ga...

Southwire 10 AWG THWN Ok ?

    Great thanks guys.

Southwire 10 AWG THWN Ok ?

Great, thanks guys. I will certainly go with the PV wires instead of the THWN wire. I was thinking of putting the combiner box about mid-way between the panels and the inverter/batteries. But I should put it close as possible to the panels, correct? To save on wire size? Can I get away...

Southwire 10 AWG THWN Ok ?

Is this the type of wire most people are using for their solar panels to the combiner box? My setup is 2P2S, 250w panels and looking to adding another 2P2S later on, or may go go 3P3S. The run from panels to combiner box is about 50-70 feet...

Help With Choosing Breakers, Combiner Box, Wire Size, etc For My System

Thanks for everyone's feedback. Yes I'll most likely go with a 2S2P panel setup. Regarding the Midnite combiner box, can I use just a outdoor small breaker box like this from Lowes/Home Depot? https://www.lowes.com/pd/Square-D-100-Amp-6-Spaces-12-Circuit-Main-Lug-Load-Center/3129229...

Help With Choosing Breakers, Combiner Box, Wire Size, etc For My System

I need help with choosing wire size, combiner box, breakers, etc for my system. I have the bulk of the equipment which is: 1. 4 x 250w panels (photo with specs below) 2. Renogy Rover 40a MMPT charge controller. 3. 4 x 28a SLA/AGM batteries. I'll be upgrading these batteries in the near...

    4 x 12V 28Ah SLA ....Max Solar Panels recommend?

Quick question. For a 1s2p setup, would 12ga wire be ok for a 30' run to the charge controller? Or would i need 10ga wire?

    4 x 12V 28Ah SLA ....Max Solar Panels recommend?

I see just a graph as well. But on the left side of the graph in very small print, the bulk charge indicates .25c so you're right on about that. Well I'll go with just 2 panels then for a 1s2p setup with a 24v battery setup. Also if I wanted to hook up my existing 12v landscape lights...

    4 x 12V 28Ah SLA ....Max Solar Panels recommend?

2s2p sounds like a plan. I guess for summer use, I would have to make sure there's a pretty good angle away from the sun? Looks like the batteries are gel. Manual below...

    4 x 12V 28Ah SLA ....Max Solar Panels recommend?

Ok thanks, got it. That's what I was considering...one facing SW and the other facing SE with the angle. VOC on these panels is 37.5 Ok but with the 48v, 4 panel setup, that would be pushing too much current to my SLA batteries right? Unless I can lower the current on the Victron?

    4 x 12V 28Ah SLA ....Max Solar Panels recommend?

Thanks Hedges for your insights. Yes forklift batteries are flooded and I believe they can be charged at around .2 - .3C. Now I have a Victron MMPT 100/12-48v (20amp), and I know I can hook up one 250w panel for the current 12v battery configuation. My question is can I hook up two of my...

    4 x 12V 28Ah SLA ....Max Solar Panels recommend?

Thanks for the feedback. I didn't know SLA's had such a low charge rate requirement. I'll hook up 1 panel to the existing batteries, and will have to get some more robust batteries, possibly fork lift batteries for the remaining ten 250w panels. Can you all recommend a decent charge...

    4 x 12V 28Ah SLA ....Max Solar Panels recommend?

What I'm looking to doing is not combining the 100w panel and 10a charge controller, but rather upgrading the inverter and charge controller to a 24v system. I'm wondering what the max charge controller and inverter I hook up to these smallish batteries without overloading them. I have 10 250w...

    4 x 12V 28Ah SLA ....Max Solar Panels recommend?

I have four 12v 28Ah SLA's powering a 12v landscape system now with a 100w panel and 10a charge controller. I'm wondering if I can hook up say 2kw of solar panels with a 24v charger controller and inverter and power a small 500w dish heater during the day? Thanks in advance.
